This guy is ridiculously good. He is a grade a performer and guitarist. Stage presence is out of this world and plays like he's played with the foo fighters for 20 years. His timing, impeccable. Everything was great. Would love to see more unknown musicians get on stage with big names
Dave Grohl gave me this same opportunity (except I had a guitar off with Chris) and I can 100% say that what he did and how well he did it is just impeccable. When I got on stage, it was on the same leg of the tour as Kiss Guy, and this guy had made such a mark on the Foos that they were literally comparing me to him, and during the following Europe legs of the tour, they turned down any request from fans to play with them because they "could not get any better than the Kiss Guy"
"cmon gimme, give me a solo!" dude then nails a tight solo just in time for Dave to go into his verse but he cracks up because of how mind blown he was. That shit was epic, this type of stuff needs to happend more.
@@shelbyseelbach9568 i can tell you i thought it was all setup too until it happened to one of my friends, some bands are actually cool as hell and let their fans play with them.
@@MrPhorick ok then. They let a fan play with them whether it was planned or not. Unless the band plays the song EXACTLY the same as the album version, it is planned and rehearsed. Hell, even kiss has to practice the live version before they tour.
Shelby Seelbach theres another video with some a few minutes before this happened. He was holding a sign saying “let me play monkey wrench” and Dave asked if he can legit play and everything beforehand. It’s real
A lot of people can play along to a song when they are listening to a recorded track. The timing of this guy on a live show is incredible. Its like he has been playing with the band for a decade.
If you take time to learn music and the person you are playing with has done the same, you start speaking to them in the language of music and naturally vibe.
I love the way he made him forget - he points to Dave after he's done with his solo to cue Dave to start singing again. He's been on the stage two minutes and already he's the band leader - that's why Grohl busts out laughing, just the utter cheek on the dude.
You want to know the crazy thing? Kiss Guy only learned Monkey Wrench a few hours before going to the concert. Dude is just that awesome and is destined to rock.
Aside from his playing one of the best things about this video is the smiles coming from the band members. That’s got to be one of the best feelings in the world for this guy.
Thanks Dave. I am an older musician who ALWAYS had the headbanger fantasy of getting up on stage and playing with a professional metal band when I was 16. Metallica and Nirvana were my favorites. However, at 46 the dream is gone and life sets in. It makes me feel so good to see kids getting to live the dream. So thank you for remembering those who still have the dream. Awesome bro.
Go for it man! Trust me, it feels awesome when you get onstage with your favorite band! Just ask them nicely. Doesn't matter of you mess up or forgot the lyrics, you gonna have a really good time! I've done that a couple of times, and some of my favorite bands gave me picks as memento 🙌
Was at the show last night in merriweather and Dave said they won’t bring anyone else on stage to play a song because no one will be as good as kiss guy.
I love how Dave could barely start the second verse from laughing at the fact that the kid played a tasty solo, AND he cut it perfectly on cue for the second verse without missing a beat! i fell out laughing too!

Want something even more amazing... Kiss guy in a news interview said he learned the song that f'n day..... He practiced it all day,and also watched FF live to get thier mannerisms and tricks as they play live... He leaned the song THAT DAY of the show... Wow!!
@@shelbyseelbach9568 ah yes because while on tour you can obviously fly a random musician down to practice with you on the road to perfect a performance. No this doesnt get scripted. Planning this type of show takes months and even years sometimes, trust me I do performances almost every month. You dont plan for this type of thing, and you definitely don't have the time to plan for it while on tour. I love how Pat Smear just seems to have fun and be down for any of Dave's shenanigans. What a great bandmate and legend in his own right. They're all awesome lol
I always thought it was funny when Pat was playing in Nirvana back in the day. Cobain had the whole "grimace at your own shoes" thing going on, meanwhile Pat's grinning ear to ear the entire show. Foo Fighters seems so much more in tune with his overall vibe.
@@ImTheSecretSquare yeah it was unfortunate that pat came the moment Mr Cobain was going through a hard time. I mean the whole reason they brought him was because kurt needed someone to back him up so he could focus on his vocals more and have a fuller sound because he was turning more and more into a professional band and that huge amount of fame, high expectations, and his depression and mental instablity just made him not have fun performing anymore. I think it would be different if pat came in pre-nevermind. You can tell by his performances how careless but energetic kurt was and was clearly excited for the release of nevermind.
Dave Grohl is such a gem to the music industry. I saw him on the "broken leg" tour in Albuquerque and he was having the best time even on that throne of guitars.
John Martinez his name is Yayo and he posted about this moment. Something along the lines he's just a super fan and had no idea this was going to happen. Also worth noting he rocked with Slash when he was like 10. I'm guessing somoene maybe Dave knew he was there and called an audible to surprise him. He got put on notice and threw down like a boss.
That whole bit about playing a guitar you're not used to. That's what makes me some degree less than certain this wasn't rehearsed. Notwithstanding the fact that every guitar is set up differently as far as bridge, nut, etc are concerned, which Kiss Guy didn't seem to be even slightly inhibited by, he seemed to be intimately familiar with the controls, knowing where to place the pickup selector for sustain, tone, etc. Cue to 6:20 and watch. I mean, when you're that good, that experienced, you've probably spent time on the 335 or something similar, but he seemed to know this guitar very well, and played fluidly with the band as if they'd rehearsed at least once. I dunno. If Dave says it was spontaneous, I'm gonna believe him. He's an honest man I'm sure.
KISS guy has experience playing in front of big crowds plus the model guitar Grohl uses isn't exactly a Parker Fly. It's a Gibson Dave Grohl signature ES-335. They were designed to be an all-purpose instrument close in style to an acoustic that anyone could pick up.
Someone mentioned this on another Kiss Guy TH-cam video and its absolutely perfect. He brought the "Pick of Destiny". Watching all the band members just smiling from ear to ear was so fun!!!! Rock On Kiss Guy and RIP Taylor, you are sorely missed :(

I just love that Dave can’t keep it together he was in shock when he actually nailed the solo 😂
Dave always been man to make his fans happy love dave.
That wasnt some thunder, that was the entire storm 🤘💀
This is my neighbours favourite song, wether he likes it or not
This made my day 😂
I ran right into that one 👍🏽
lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant :D
How many of us who play instruments have dreamt of this kind of moment? Good for you kiss guy
100%
Dude 100%! I know how to play at least one or two songs of every band I go to see. Downside is I'M LEFT HANDED. Wouldn't be able to play shit.
This guy is ridiculously good. He is a grade a performer and guitarist. Stage presence is out of this world and plays like he's played with the foo fighters for 20 years. His timing, impeccable. Everything was great. Would love to see more unknown musicians get on stage with big names
He's not really unknown here in Austin - but your point is well taken. He did an amazing job up there.
For a second I thought you were talking about the kiss guy 🤣🤣
Well, he's been around a while. Some might remember him as the drummer from Nirvana. haha.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS..GRAMMIE C
This doesn't "just happen", is a set up. All part of the show.
@Kip Winner ok? That seems totally unrelated. Best of luck with that!
Shelby Seelbach theres another video with some a few minutes before this happened. He was holding a sign saying “let me play monkey wrench” and Dave asked if he can legit play and everything beforehand. It’s real
This has become one of my top rock and roll moments in history .
same! it's right up there with Prince's f*ck you guitar solo
Can we all stand in agreement that KISS Guy is actually the greatest rock and roll success story of all times ever? Dreams do come true.
Only one more amazing is the guy who joined Journey
A lot of people can play along to a song when they are listening to a recorded track.
The timing of this guy on a live show is incredible. Its like he has been playing with the band for a decade.
This. Like, What? That’s natural chemistry and presence.
He’s just a real musician. Someone who actually took the time to be good. It’s amazing. lol
Being a good musician doesn't mean you automatically know how a band you're not in operates and communicates. This was likely set up beforehand.
@@timramich likely.
If you take time to learn music and the person you are playing with has done the same, you start speaking to them in the language of music and naturally vibe.
And that my friend... is how you finally prove to your 8th grade teacher, that you would some day make it.
Salv “now Stevie you can bring your three friends with you. That Steve Vai, what a nice little boy”
STEVE THAT IS WAY TOO LOUD
Principal Strickland definitely can't call this guy a slacker..
Kiss guy was on double secret probation the whole time he was in school🍀
Perfect comment.
Literally melted his own face with his playing. Awesome
He had to call out the face paint company he used afterwards "you said this stuff was waterproof but its obviously not shred proof"
🤣
Can't best a good ole face melter.. every now snd again lol 😆 😂 🤣
This should be the top comment
When life is being rough I come back and watch what a great day kiss guy had. Makes it all better.
Totally.
It must be an honour to make the legend Dave grouhl himself forgot the words to his own song
I love the way he made him forget - he points to Dave after he's done with his solo to cue Dave to start singing again. He's been on the stage two minutes and already he's the band leader - that's why Grohl busts out laughing, just the utter cheek on the dude.
That was his moment and he showed the fuck up!
Rogue Demons No doubt! With motherfuckin bells on!!!
It was nut up or shut up time and he nutted the fuck up.
Now that some rock star shit I seen Dave play in Orange County with. A cast on in a wheel chair but this performance looks fun as hell tho
Rogue Demons He stepped up to the plate and knocked out a Grand Slam.
Yass he did Rogue... he showed the fuck up!!!......
When Dave Grohl can sit back, drink a beer, as you take over HIS show, you know your years of late night practice have paid off.
Yep that's your guy
...when all the "woodshed practice" pays off.
You want to know the crazy thing? Kiss Guy only learned Monkey Wrench a few hours before going to the concert. Dude is just that awesome and is destined to rock.
@@scottwpilgrim Unreal man. Literally the best moment to prove that hardwork and grind can get noticed.
konkyolife EXACTLY.
You can feel the happiness of another human being enjoying his passion
“Hey you ever heard of Kiss?”
-“You mean kiss guy!?”
Lol!!!!!!
He melted his own face with his guitar solo.
Came here to make the same comment. Well done. Hahaha
LOL! busted my gut with that one
that's so metal
YAYO SANCHEZ. Here’s his awesome music:

Fck yea he did.. Kiss Guy RULES!!
If you don't smile for this you have no soul
I was smiling the whole time. Incredible.
I cried, does that count? XD
I’m a ginger and smiled....do I get a soul?!
So many talented people that never get a chance to showcase their talent. Kiss guy owned the stage.
Hell yes!
Bro...
T H E F E E L S
46 and u think ur old?
Bro, you stilk alive, and if there is life, there is hope. I feel the same you feel, but i play in my church and love the way it feels.
Dave’s face when Kiss Guy shreds that solo makes me so happy. He’s just so fucking surprised and happy.
Kiss Guy will always be in our hearts ❤. Who is here 2024?
Dave, a real likable rock star. Class act.
Check Rob Joyce for Keith Urban, it's the same level of epic.
He's humble and a great dad and rocker.
Not just Dave, just look at the smiles on the faces of the rest of the band. They really enjoyed this xD
yeah for sure
LOL well fuck youre feelings. The actual facts state the complete opposite
Watching Kiss Guy and laughing at the comments just pulled my soul out of depression.
Yeah, well you’re a big fat curly headed fuck.
p. body ha, that’s so funny. Last time I heard that joke, I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur
Brennan Huff, 😢
p. body do you wanna go do karate in the garage?
Brennan Huff, yep!
Dave's laugh after the solo is SO good, that's genuine shock. And the way the dude points back at Dave like "ok, your turn!" Killer.
Four years later and I still love this moment.
3:40 Dave just fades out into the background to let Kiss Guy have a go.
That's greatness if you ever saw it.
That pick gonna have more value than his wedding ring, no kidding
It’s the pick of destiny.
Was at the show last night in merriweather and Dave said they won’t bring anyone else on stage to play a song because no one will be as good as kiss guy.
Barra I guess my comment does say kids guy. The s is right next to the d. Ever think I accidentally hit d instead of s?
idk man, when i saw them in Atlanta a few months back they brought someone up to play.
Aaand he brought a 10 year old to the stage and gave his guitar away. Can't trust anyone's words these days.
@@vylxeras5953 but he was not good as a kiss guy
@@GeekisCarnage theres nothing accidental about you hitting on some D 😂😂😂😂😂
The entire bands excitement plus the insane energy of Kiss Guy is so great to see
I love how Dave could barely start the second verse from laughing at the fact that the kid played a tasty solo, AND he cut it perfectly on cue for the second verse without missing a beat! i fell out laughing too!
Imagine how many times he played that song he did not lost the beat
Perfect timing and solo was in the same key as the song. Blended it well. Kid is sick
Also he moved around the stage giving space the band members if needed, adding his own stage presence.
Dude knows what he's doing.
Check this riff is fucking tasty!
Check out the live videos he has made since this has happened, he is working hard: facebook.com/YayoSanchez333/
This is one of the many reasons Dave is a true rock legend, he still knows it's about music and the fans
Danielle Nelson exactly! Love him and his funny sense of humor
life energy level increased by 200% after watching this.
miked765 at LEAST 200% 😊
miked765 i agree unfortnatelly i saw this right before going to sleep and the kißß-guy rocked the living dead to life in me! Thankyou dave grohl for letting him
He played with intensity while remaining humble to the experience. I was awake for over an hour after watching this one night just before bed.
I was laughing with joy and clapping at my damn tv. THIS is what rock n roll is all about!!!!
2:03 that look between them, both knowing they were having a blast. RIP Taylor.
Not even that big a FF fan but wow..Dave is a real class act
He's well known for being one of the most awesome, kindest and most hilarious persons in the music industry, ever. There are a ton of memes about him, all about his awesomeness.
couldn't agree more deez!
We can't all like the same music, but we can appreciate people who are respectful and encouraging.
Deez Balls totally agreed
yup
That guitar didn't know what hit it
What you doing to my guitar ? ......Playing it !!!
That was really Buckethead wearing a different mask and no bucket.
Taht' whole band didn't know what hit them. They havne't rocked the way this guy did in over 20 years. good to see them tourning still but such is life when you're 50 years old.
@@jonstone9741 kiss guy said he learned that song a day before the show
@@jonstone9741 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Want something even more amazing... Kiss guy in a news interview said he learned the song that f'n day..... He practiced it all day,and also watched FF live to get thier mannerisms and tricks as they play live... He leaned the song THAT DAY of the show... Wow!!
Kiss Guy's stage presence: 1000%
David is like a proud father who raised his rockstar kid when the kiss guy played this song
Loved the fact that he’s walking around like he owns the stage , and he really does 🎶
Dude legitimately took over the stage, communicated with every band member, makes a great front man !
I think I have watched this over 10 times, and it keep getting better every time.
The dude is legit.. He didnt even overplay it.. He's like a pro.. So happy for this guy. Im smilin towards the end of the video
Dave should invite him to some tours. He deserves it completely
Ya, he was already invited to this performance, not to mention the rehearsals beforehand.
@@shelbyseelbach9568 it's not... Stop spreading lies.
@@SirZeck Nah, I'll continue to express my beliefs. Thanks though.
@Mickey A. Bacination of course
I dont understand your cynicism, it's based entirely out of thin air and it's pointless and untrue.
Yayo use to play in front of his parents restaurant as a little nino. He’s a better young man than he is guitar player and that’s saying a lot cause he killed it.Proud of you Yayo!!!
Carlos Anaya that’s the vibe I get from Yayo and his videos. Great affirmation!
Carlos Anaya who??
Yayo is the man!!
@@METALFAN4EVS Do you practice at being stupid?
Can anyone prove this isn't the guy from dragonforce? Watch the strum hand style then videos of 'through fire and flames'
If there is one thing to notice about EVERYONE there; they ALL are Exuding Gratitude. Kiss Guy is thankful for his chance, Dave and the band feel blessed with his talent, the audience is blown away... gratitude is a powerful force.
KID literally willed this into existence! You can tell he already envisioned how he would do this and perform! Waited his whole life for this!
me too.
Ah, this gets me emotional. Having one of the coolest guys in rock give you a chance, and then killing it...Yayo is living his best life.
The hope that someday I will feel even a fraction of the joy that Yayo must have felt keeps me going.
Dave's reaction to the guitar solo is just the absolute best!
Kkkkkkkkkkkkk
Whenever I need to be able to smile 😊, I watch this video...Thank you Foo Fighters and especially Kiss Guy!🎉
He's sucha cutie, quietly enjoying it all :)
You are getting a like for the correct usage of shenanigans
Dave Grohl is such a gem to the music industry. I saw him on the "broken leg" tour in Albuquerque and he was having the best time even on that throne of guitars.
and despite his broken leg, he was in Italy for Rockin'1000....
Dave's facial expressions and reactions are enough to show that this was definitely not planned
okay....
Not just his, check out the band, they all have that same "fuck yea!" face going on.
Rock On Kiss Guy and RIP Taylor, you are sorely missed :(
That moment when Dave Grohl is playing air guitar to your actual guitar at his show.
What time was he playing air guitar at? Lol
legion act 4:10
LOL
Exactly.
It wasn't anymore Daves show.
I feel like this guy's entire life was leading up to that moment. One chance in a million, he took it and he absoloutely fucking nailed it.
Kiss guy knew he had just one chance. He got his well prepared few minutes of fame. And he absolutely killed it 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 what a rock star!
Past 2 years, at least 1 time a month I come here for a rehearsal.
