In Germany the maternity leave is mandatory 3yrs until the kid/kids starts kindergarten, and on that note a parent will be allowed to stay at home until the 1st born is 8yrs under which the government will be financially responsible for the family

This was a good choice of topic and you did great to bring Shiv and Shiku to the episode. Hubby and I have two kids. Wanjiru and Ben, when the Lord blesses you with Children, you will love them so much and wonder what life would be without them.
I stayed with our son for one year before going back to work. This was the best decision ever. Being in the states enables us to bond with our children more especially because we don’t have a nanny currently. We have a 4 month baby now and am also planning to staying with her the longest possible. I received maternity pay from the state and I am grateful for that.
Wanjiru and Ben, you guys will be amazing parents.Pray for them even before they are here and God will give you the knowledge and wisdom to bring them up and the resources you need.He will provide.

In Austria we get to choose paid maternity leave between 1 year and 2 years and fully insured during that time. The amount paid Is equal for everyone so if you choose 1 year you get your money divided into 12 months and if you choose 24 months you get your money dived into 24months.

In the US we get just 6 week’s maternity leave, sometimes I think it’s a big contributor to Postpartum Depression because just before you’ve come to terms with having a baby, you’re back at work

Quite a good podcast episode from you,I agree with Shikie that when the baby is planned for,the recovery journey is easier and I would add a little bit faster because your mind was ready for the journey,(this could be different from other ladies but it's my experience,am 4 months old since I gave birth) on the maternity part, I will going back to work on Monday 24th after spending 4 months, again I used my cumulative leave days to have a forth month leave and though one cannot be ready for this, having a positive mind,a good nanny,a supportive partner and God's Grace makes the transition a little bit easier.

Aki Ben honestly is funny. I love laughing mehn and at times this is place to come. This topic today has been very interesting. I’m 18 years and I think this topic is more of reflection than planning, I mean, I’m only 18. It made me realise so much about certain things with my parents hear and there and see the bigger basically. I love it!

If men were the ones giving birth and nursing babies, organizations would have fully staffed and resourced child care departments with a 1:1 trained nanny: child ratio. Hiyo species inajipenda sana.

It was beautiful to see different dynamic of couples and also how they communicate and relate with each other and with another couple . In short the power play is equal.
Hands down , Ben is that friend that we all want , completely authentic , funny and a great human .

The 3 months isn't quite enough especially when your toddler had to spend the 1st month in NBU but all in all we survive regardless

I voluntarily lost weight, i did not need the gym

When ciku said her fear is not being to protect kids from the mess up ppl in the world she reminded me of a fear i live with.... I have taken the role of dad for my niece since she was a few minute old upto now she is 10 and watch over her like a hawk...on the flipside i have a kid who 1 /1/2 that i have never seen because some shit happened. The thought of me being a position to protect her makes my stomach turn. It a horrible feeling.
