I learnt about Joyride Podcast in May 2023 through my sister here in Germany and since then i've gotten addicted to you guys.
This Podcast made learn about other amazing Podcasts Like TMI, Over 25, Man Talk...and this is amazing
Thanks to you guys cause since I started watching you i've developed alot especially in self awareness cause I feel like that's what this Podcast is all about among others❤❤❤❤

I relate with Wanjiru being triggered by “…you’re too sensitive…” coz I feel like society has associated sensitivity with weakness and in argument I just don’t want to feel weak. That said I’m still learning to be comfortable in my sensitivity and understanding that doesn’t make me weak.

When Ben was talking about Sensitivity I was like,"Abort Mission!Abort Mission!!!!!
Hm... I think what you mean Ben is "Uncomfortable Communication/Conversations" as opposed to "Unhealthy"... The latter refers to "harmful" or "damaging"... , like screaming expletives at each other or demeaning by way of words or physical harm... These will always hurt the individuals and therefore the relationship, because it's a lack of "health"... a lack of wellbeing or strength. It's why breakups/divorces happen.
"Uncomfortable" is definitely the term here... those sticky topics one or both people like to shy away from, but in so doing, cause greater harm to the relationship because it is a symptom of indifference... a lack of care about something very important... an "unhealthy" habit for sure.

There has to be a better way of letting someone know that their high pitched voices/ knee jerk reactions during an argument do very little in the way of solving the dispute, other than using words like 'you need to calm down' or 'relax'.
I think these words invalidate that person's feelings and might be perceived as an attempt to subdue and silence them. Everybody deserves a fair hairing 😅
