Pro tip for Ethan…. Sometimes you’ve just got to put it in first and let it ride up out of the ditch…. Every time it slid back into the ditch was when the brakes were applied. Let it ride up in first up out of the ditch and get recentered in the road. The natural engine resistance will keep it at idle. Even if you ride the whole hill in first, you can ride that down until it gets level and you can just push in the clutch and let it ease to a stop. Don’t beat yourself up too bad… the truck’s still upright.
I remember working with my son was he was 18. He told me once that he didn’t want to do it anymore because “dad loses his patience too much”. Instant flashback to working with my own dad and his short fuse. Best feedback I’ve ever received!
Compassion he’s a fellow Missouri! Actually at the other end of the state literally from where I’m at. Young man until you almost hit them Iowa, Illinois border
Talk about "all hands on deck!". Great teamwork to get this job done, including the extra work by that road crew spreading extra cinders to make it safer and easier. I really enjoyed both parts of this video. Stay safe and healthy.
I just want to say great job to Ron and Ethan and Oscar and Talon and the rest of the crew great job y'all may God bless every single one of y'all and stay safe
You did a great job staying calm and thinking through your situation, Ethan. I could see you were shaken, but you have gained another experience to build on. There will be a lifetime of them. Great team work, everyone! Please stay safe and warm. God bless.
Three Heavies for one precariously perched Heavy highway truck, with BIG attachments... getting there was half the fun, pulling the truck out was the other half of the fun... As always, stay safe, watch each other, and your six, and stay warm during this season of cold and snow and ice.
Great channel You have excellent equipment You know what you are doing Share your experience with others but best of all you don't brag about Keep up the great work 👍👍👍
Enjoy the video. Hope the weather clears up soon. It's starting to get warmer this weekend here. Stay safe. Sending prayers to you and your family. Praying for your employees
Nice to see Talon is still with you. He is a hard worker, as are all your guys. Ethan you were the grunt of the day. Think Ethan was more in the creek than the truck. Having a good attitude is the key. Great job, and please remember to always have waders with you. Thank God for people like you all that are out in all kinds of weather to help us. Thanks for sharing. God bless and protect.
You have trained you crew well at working together. My son worked at one tow business and he was frustrated that the drivers only knew what to only on the truck they were sssigned. He had one call snd needed two other trucks to help him. He said it was a circus trying to get them to work together. I told him to tell the owner what happened and he had to straighten it out or he was going to quit. The owner told my son he was promoted to forman and staighten your problem out. He almost walked out the door and said ok only if he could fire the bad ones. Owner said he hired my son because of his experence with the heavy truck. Just don't fire them on the same day. He fired 3 by the time they were working together. 😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Great job everyone involved on this episode and Ethan when you was sliding down hill side ways I seen your papaw in that truck with you helping you control it Ron you all did a great job glad driver was uninjured and truck was unhurt stay safe everyone at Midwest truck 1:13:08
Number 2 with a like. Right around 1:02:08 I was thinking.... brakes are not set, truck is in neutral, and I sure hope they don't all release at once and watch it roll back in!
Good Morning There My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & God Bless You & All Of You're Whole Family & All Of You're Whole Staff As Well & I Am Praying That All Of You Are Beening Safe & I Am Still Praying For All Of The People Involved In The Automobile Accident
I'd still have that snow plow truck scheduled in for an inspection to be on the safe side. Visually it looks alright, that doesn't mean somethings not there that'll have problems later on. While nothing is 100% that doesn't mean I myself don't want something that's not close to it.
I was born and raised in Northern Illinois ( Wisconsin,Illinois border)we had a coal furnace (1958) and a cinder driveway! I was surprised to see them still being used! I used to run across them in bear feet😂 , I am now in South Carolina
I do not remember seeing you use all three wreakers. Great job crew in some really bad weather. Ron, you need to carry an ' etch a sketch' so you can draw a picture of how you want the trucks placed. As a by=stander it was a little confusing. As a retired suspension mechanic, it did look like the right front rear leaf spring got bent by the mount. I am sure they will limp that truck back to shop to get checked out before returning to duty.
Damage free: damage is free. Also no fault towing: anything wrong is not our fault. Just kidding! Love this channel and the real ethics at work, doesn't get any better. Great job.
It seems that a lot of people, and vehicles, were put at risk just to retrieve one truck. Was its retrieval that urgent that it couldn't have been postponed until after the weather improved? I don't mean waiting until spring, but only until after some of the ice on the roads melted.
There's always something to learn on Ron's channel. I had no idea that cinders (coal bottom ash) were used on roads for traction in the winter. Not sure how safe that is, but salt has problems, and slipping has more immediate problems.
Rimslings don't work well on steel wheels. The steel can/will cut through the sling. There are products available that would work in a situation like this, but we made the chains work. Thanks for watching and God bless.
I came undone when Ethan said: "I have the balance of a...lemur.....or something"...comedy gold!😂😂😂😂😂😂 Awesome recovery guys!

Glad to see the old western star in action again on the channel!
Last time I saw the old Western Star in action was when it was used to tow an RV that was stranded on the side of the interstate

Uh-mazing!🤪
"Give me all your gold" from Ethan straight up made me cackle! Good video and recovery!
As soon as Ethan grabbed some snow and made a ball I just knew he was gonna throw it. 🤣
46:45 Talon looking at Ron like.. "I didn't bring my swimming trunks today bud.." HAHAH
Oscar's "It was like that when I got here" sticker on his hard hat cracks me up every time, it's so fitting.
Ethan's rear end was sucked to the seat as he was hearing the song in his head, : " Slip Sliding Away ". ( Great Job, Ethan )
The invention of the rotator has been a life saver in the heavy rescue business thats for sure
Bacon and eggs with a Ron Pratt video. Life don't get much better than this.
Downtime at emergency center😃
Ethan just acquired a new set of skills and did a good job! Congratulations, young man! Sometimes just hearing Dad's voice will get you through!
“I have the balance of a lemur”
I am left with questions 😂
Talk about "all hands on deck!". Great teamwork to get this job done, including the extra work by that road crew spreading extra cinders to make it safer and easier. I really enjoyed both parts of this video.

Amazing work, nobody hurt, truck is out with no damage, can't do any better than that.
Another great video Ron and Ethan who rescues the rescuers nobody you sort it out yourself
Great job guys. Hopefully the wrecker is ok. Truck sliding and going sideways is definitely a butt clenching moment. Glad everything ended well.
Nice to see Talon is still with you. He is a hard worker, as are all your guys. Ethan you were the grunt of the day. Think Ethan was more in the creek than the truck. Love watching your videos! They are the highlight of my Friday mornings when I get done with work.

You guys work really well together when you're needed, Ron. Very awesome, safe recoveries there. God bless you guys.
Amazing teamwork in adverse conditions. Thank you for sharing.
Nothing like watching Ron Pratt and coffee on a Friday morning. Stay safe and God bless.
Great job everyone involved on this episode and Ethan when you was sliding down hill side ways I seen your papaw in that truck with you helping you control it Ron you all did a great job glad driver was uninjured and truck was unhurt stay safe everyone at Midwest truck 1:13:08
Unbelievably amazing! Way to go Ron, Ethan, Oscar, Talon and Mike!
I thought that you all crew and you did a fantastic wonderful job God Bless you all

One heck of a challenge and successfully accomplished. Job well done!
Wow, two Pratt slips and one in a heavy. Thanks Ethan. Looked a tricky recovery in the conditions. Glad them old nemisis was not out to play too.
Number 2 with a like. Right around 1:02:08 I was thinking.... brakes are not set, truck is in neutral, and I sure hope they don't all release at once and watch it roll back in!

The idea of an Etch-a-Sketch is a great idea I would’ve never thought about that good job whoever you are
I know it’s about what you’re right but it’s too little for me to see
Damage free: damage is free. Also no fault towing: anything wrong is not our fault. Just kidding! Love this channel and the real ethics at work, doesn't get any better. Great job.
Atleast, it got fixed & no fire & desaturated is been cleared
Good job Ethan!

Thanks for letting us know the problem with WS1, AKA #8.
Good job y'all 👍
Hey! Snow plows get thirsty too!
It seems that a lot of people, and vehicles, were put at risk just to retrieve one truck. Was its retrieval that urgent that it couldn't have been postponed until after the weather improved? I don't mean waiting until spring, but only until after some of the ice on the roads melted.
I love what you are doing mat and I love you trucks
This one was crazy, including a culvert crawl! Such a situation must have been impossible in the "old days" without damage.
Man! That tator is dead useful!
Good Job! Never fun to work in those conditions.
Greetings from India 🇺🇸🇮🇳
Awesome job as always! Wow, just wow.
So far so good no Pratt falls yet
There's always something to learn on Ron's channel. I had no idea that cinders (coal bottom ash) were used on roads for traction in the winter. Not sure how safe that is, but salt has problems, and slipping has more immediate problems.
From another channel, apparently they do the same thing around Bend Oregon.
Suspenseful
All you guys are doing a outstanding job 😊 and stay safe hello from Hamburg NY
He was very lucky not to rupture a fuel tank when he went in. Great job getting it out even if it was a project just getting to it. Be safe God bless.
Skip 17 minutes ahead for part 2.
I like the damage free joke.
Awesome!!! I really enjoy your video's!!!!
Great video love to watch your videos
Good job guys. I knew Ethan’s boots weren’t for that weather
Awesome job guys!
I really appreciate watching this video and I'm from the state of Oregon
yay .. part 2
Good job , y’all.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is just stop. Think things through and ask for help if you’re unsure of the situation.
Spreader bar-with rim sling thru the front wheels on each side.

How long did it take the driver of the plow to get the seat pried out of his backside ?
Good morning from New Hampshire.
It would be good to see Mike back and see Talon as well.
