I have never seen a singe OEM solution from a bike or car vendor that came close to matching the ease of use or functionality of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Honestly the cameras on this are a great bonus but like you said if I could move the head unit from bike to bike even with a small investment per bike for a mounting kit I would absolutely rock this piece of tech. I hope your feedback is heard and we see a follow up soon that delivers on that, even if it’s from another vendor.
Sounds Great! A lot of bikes have inferior gouges, and this is an excellent way to get around them. FYI, after they come out for the u.s. market, you may be able to do a software upgrade and get mph! Keep up the great vids! I like your content better than hammy pube! 😂
You say you want to move it from bike to bike but I’d rather it be more bike specific to count engine hours, distance traveled, rpm, fuel economy so I could bin the factory gauges and save weight
I'll be getting a 2012 daytona 675 soon. It's running great when I viewed and test rode it. Just need to change tyres right off the bat. This dash looks like it would be a great addition to modernize my bike. A mechanical bike with some modern creature comforts.
It is just the thing I have been looking for or trying to make with ESP32-S3 + cameras + lots and lots of work. You mentioned bluetooth and OBDII on bike modules. Do you have any more information on that. The Chigee website is limited there.
Totally agree on the ability to switch between bikes. I have 2-3 bikes and would like to just be able to switch it quickly like mu Garmin. And speaking of Garmin. If they built in Android Auto or CarPlay to their head units I’d be all over that.
The only thing a phone lacks is getting information from the OBD and the cameras, which Bluetooth can solve. I feel like everyone seems to suddenly forget they already have a detachable screen in their pockets? If Chigee would make their software available as an app, the problem of having an interchangeable screen for this setup is immediately solved.
What are the chances, I've been looking at these various carplay/autoplay devices trying to work out if any would fit an F4i CBR. Low and behold down a rabbit hole of youtube videos. You pop up demonstrating on an F4i. Amazing, thanks!
I bought mine around the same time as this review and i have used it for 6000km, i love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. it works perfect with gloves and i have had no issues with it.
Thank you for fully disclosing up front that this was a paid promotion video. Thank you for being clear about how you got this device and that you received the device for free, but your opinions are your own. I do disagree though. I know riders with 1250gs and they would love to have dash cams on their bikes. It's another farkle. I could see an 1150gs or 1200gs rider getting this because its a bit more budget friendly compared to other dash cam kits out there.
This sounds like a GREAT product... if you have some of theses features, maybe a little expensive, but if you don’t .... think about adding this to a gsx-s750 or something like that. If you buy a 10k new motorcycle probably means nothing, but you can add a lot of real functionality to older stuff. Also an older z900 would be good with it , or cheaper bikes - trident 660, mt-07, sv650... if it had a removable screen to take with you and stop turds from breaking it off would be much better.
wow what an amazing piece of Tech. Is there more than just stem mount options for mounting. Would be a great piece of kit for my commuter bike, which is a FZ-07. No stem mount option on that bike. Maybe I missed that part of the video where you addressed different mounting options.
the screen not being easily removable is also a problem for vandalism. people will try to twist it off of there and you end up with broken navigation in the morning
Ive got something very similar to this, minus the dashcam. Cost me like 89 bucks and does android auto wireless as well as Carplay. Its weatherproof and its been on my bike for over a year now. I ride every day. I missed like 4 days in 2023 due to ice in Texas. Best sub 100 dollar accessory ive bought for any of my bikes.
Currently watching Carpuride W502 reviews for my Griso. Unfortunately, one cannot remove the original dash it has an integrated pressure sensor. For this reason the Griso dash is moist sensitive... I'm looking forward to future reviews!
So the blindspot monitor audio alarm doesn't pass through to your headset? Or did you connect the headset to your phone & not directly to the Chigee AIO-5? If it's the former it seems like something they need to address ASAP in a firmware update, otherwise it's a deal-breaker for me. Apart from the dashcam feature the Chigee AIO-5 doesn't seem to do anything that you can't do with a smartphone & a bunch of apps. BUT it seems a damn sight easier to operate than having to switch between apps on a phone, so I can see the value. What bums me out though is that I can't use all of its features on all the bikes in my stable. If only OBDII had been legislated as mandatory on bikes like it was in cars. And I agree, being able to buy a separate harness & dash cam set up plus a quick release to switch between bikes would make the Chigee AIO-5 a whole lot more attractive as an investment to me.
@spitescorner you mentioned and obd reader for this. Did the adapter come in the box or is it an optional extra? Couldn't find it as an accessory on their website
This looks like the best unit I’ve seen, but I wish I could disconnect from the bike when you stop some. You said it can be stolen, but how hard is it to get it off?
BMW doesn't offer Android Auto or Apple Car Play. The rear cam w/object detection is the only feature that would be interesting for me -- I'd like a headless version of that alone, that could pair w/a Cardo channel to provide audio alerts.
Do we need Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, i.e. more distraction on two wheels? You can use a phone mount for riding in urban areas and a GPS for off-road. That's plenty of screen time already.
I am just watching this video again and I saw what looked like the gps antenna facing down. If you are having issues with the gps it might be worth positioning it with the word top to the sky. Just a heads up.
Thanks for sharing this! Will be looking into this further for my ST1300 as well as contacting them about looking into capability to read Honda's proprietary ECU. We ST riders are rabid about our bikes and if they could crack that nut they would have10's of thousands of ST riders globally who would buy into some newer tech on our dash :)
That thing looks prertty cool. I'd love to have Android Auto on my bike. Also, what gloves are you wearing in the vid? i've been looking for some good ones that do well with touch screens.
Cradle based would make it very easy to steal. Hard wired makes it impossible. Bear in mind that having it connected to your phone is going to hammer your phone battery. Would just prefer a dash cam for £100 and a charging quadlock for my phone
We have been waiting for this kit for eons. Thanx for the review. Am rebuilding an rf900 and this dash is going on it budget permitting. One again thanx. Ride to ride again. 1luv
Spite, I’m converting my sport bike into a naked bike and looking for something like this for the ease of install. Wondering how accurate the speedo is because it’s running on GPS. I guess I’d need to hook up the OBD to read the tach but that shouldn’t be that hard considering changing the instrument cluster on my bike needs to be done anyhow. Would you recommend this as a primary dash for my bike application?
In my experience the speed is fast and accurate. Sometimes a tad too sensitive, but I've never had an issue with it reading wrong. It's way easier than using a trial tech
It’s about time! I don’t like the motorcycle manufacturers lame attempts at giving us their own navigation or forcing us to use their janky front end to Google maps. Just give us something closer to this. Better yet if you just go hard on the android auton/ Apple CarPlay integration so all the bike telemetry can be seen in there.
I may just go with an Insta360 on loop… I don’t know why this is so hard. Agreed that not being able to switch between bikes is a *major* downside to this Chigee - almost a dealbreaker for me… I’m not made of money 💸
Of course!! All Apple Carplay/Android Auto functions will stop... only the canbus info will proceed. By the way: at this moment Voice Control in Android Auto is NOT supported with Bluetooth headset! (Chigee says the are working on it)
you mean the GreenYi derivatives? TPMS is trash and inaccurate, UI hangs out every now and then, bluetooth disconnects intermittently, and cameras are trash (especially at night). Got this (since we recently had a local shop opened just for this), and those optimized sony lens works wonders. And my cardo doesnt disconnect without no reason
These type of products are typically made by one or two main manufacturers in China then branded / marketed by several companies all trying to beat each other on price. Result is a race to the bottom, I have seen these advertised on TEMU and other platforms for under $200. Regardless of price, they offer some cool tech especially for older or lower priced bikes that don't normally come with high tech packages that you'd find on luxury brands. Using the cameras for blind spot warning as well as a backup camera is really cool. Another benefit of this product that wasn't discussed is that it won't dim or black out on you in high temperatures. Here in the Texas Summer, my iPhone dims and or blacks out on me in the triple digit temperatures. That's really annoying when you're out on the twisty backroads and your phone shuts down.
Great looking tech, but I think I'll wait until it's no longer just an Indigogo dream and they start shipping them. You didn't mention what the resolution is on the cameras or SD card capacity limit.

Sprite still going strong hell yeah brother
I only know what I saw in the instructions. My F4i doesn't have OBD2
Can it run Doom?
It's arm based so it almost definitely can and it wouldn't be that hard
Let them know a 360 camera added in would be nice for the cockpit, especially for the park mode
Highly suggest this (you don't even need the high spec version with remote) + the TR100 USB charger. The USB charger also works as a battery tender.
Is somebody trying to catch Keanu's attention to test ride one of their bikes? God that would be sweet.
Totally agree on the ability to switch between bikes. I have 2-3 bikes and would like to just be able to switch it quickly like mu Garmin. And speaking of Garmin. If they built in Android Auto or CarPlay to their head units I’d be all over that.
You get a 1000 kgs worth of emails?!?! Wow.
that's okay he knows a forklift guy for when a bunch of spam comes in unexpected
Security Torx is so common, literally all cheap torx bit sets are those. Or were these with 5 point star?
The only thing a phone lacks is getting information from the OBD and the cameras, which Bluetooth can solve. I feel like everyone seems to suddenly forget they already have a detachable screen in their pockets? If Chigee would make their software available as an app, the problem of having an interchangeable screen for this setup is immediately solved.
Instead of covering the google maps in grey you should jhave put up a picture of one of those rug maps for kids, would have been funny
I like metric. It makes me feel better about myself.
Totally agree this is great but needs to be swappable between bikes.
What are the chances, I've been looking at these various carplay/autoplay devices trying to work out if any would fit an F4i CBR. Low and behold down a rabbit hole of youtube videos. You pop up demonstrating on an F4i. Amazing, thanks!
This is pretty sweet. I know some random guy makes replacement dashes for my Benelli Trk. This would probably be more trustworthy another option.
13:55 it’s like cardo packtalk edge can swap between helmet. It would be cool if chigee can do that 😂
After 4 months do still like it. Can you make another review 😊
I think this is the same thing Whitney reviewed a couple weeks back. She liked it.
An Ola England fan...I see you too, are a man of taste
wow what an amazing piece of Tech. Is there more than just stem mount options for mounting. Would be a great piece of kit for my commuter bike, which is a FZ-07. No stem mount option on that bike. Maybe I missed that part of the video where you addressed different mounting options.
Yeah, they have handlebar mounts that come with the kit.
the screen not being easily removable is also a problem for vandalism. people will try to twist it off of there and you end up with broken navigation in the morning
What model do you have?
**Warning** Chigee does NOT support voice control with Android Auto using a bluetooth headset yet! (Chigee says the are working on it)
Currently watching Carpuride W502 reviews for my Griso.
Could you flip the camera and mount it on the fender clear of the crush zone?
Great way to turn your bike like a car entertainment system 😂
@spitescorner you mentioned and obd reader for this. Did the adapter come in the box or is it an optional extra? Couldn't find it as an accessory on their website
That is very cool. I’d love to put it on my 310gs since that screen is so outdated. Having CarPlay would be awesome!
This looks like the best unit I’ve seen, but I wish I could disconnect from the bike when you stop some. You said it can be stolen, but how hard is it to get it off?
I might have missed it to do it being Christmas Eve. But I’d love to see footage from the front and rear cameras
I'll put up a short with it when I get the chance. It's decent quality, not anything I'd use to vlog with
BMW doesn't offer Android Auto or Apple Car Play.
Would be cool to have an analog converter kit to compete with trailtech. Something to add some modern features to carb bikes.
I've installed a trail tech in the past and this is waaay better
I am just watching this video again and I saw what looked like the gps antenna facing down. If you are having issues with the gps it might be worth positioning it with the word top to the sky. Just a heads up.
I need this for when I leave the blue and white flashing lights
If I were replacing a broken cluster on a bike, especially one with OBD data available...
This is really cool. I wonder if you could put this on an e-bike as well?
11:45 finally no need mirror 😂
The wait is over!
My Yamaha Stryker will be getting one.
This on a klr 650. Seems perfect. Hmmm...
Yeah it would be a great addition for the KLR
That thing looks prertty cool. I'd love to have Android Auto on my bike. Also, what gloves are you wearing in the vid? i've been looking for some good ones that do well with touch screens.
Cradle based would make it very easy to steal. Hard wired makes it impossible. Bear in mind that having it connected to your phone is going to hammer your phone battery. Would just prefer a dash cam for £100 and a charging quadlock for my phone
I can't wait to replace my Trail Tech Vapor with one of these!
this is such a sick device. ill be picking me one up thank you very much.
We have been waiting for this kit for eons. Thanx for the review. Am rebuilding an rf900 and this dash is going on it budget permitting. One again thanx. Ride to ride again. 1luv
Spite, the BMW’s don’t have android auto or Apple CarPlay. Just BMW’s janky system.
Spite,
I’m converting my sport bike into a naked bike and looking for something like this for the ease of install.
It's way easier than using a trial tech
looks pretty good. does it have a way to get the video out of the unit? waterproof? thanks.
Great! Now install one on a lowrider ST 😬
$599.00 plus controller plus tpms sensors, total $800~$900 with shipping, so for that money get a Garmin or other major brand.😢
If you skip the tpms - could you display, say, altitude instead of the tpms data? Thank you for sharing
This is infinitely better than any app a motorcycle manufacturer uses.
I may just go with an Insta360 on loop… I don’t know why this is so hard.
Agreed that not being able to switch between bikes is a *major* downside to this Chigee - almost a dealbreaker for me… I’m not made of money 💸
Nice bit of Ola in your ears
Try the innovv n1. Looks to be the best product in this area.
I'm just wondering if while using car play or Android auto does this device stop responding if your phone loses cellular signal?
No, devices keeps working just like it would in a car, it just cant update online content on the fly (map, songs & calls).
Of course!! All Apple Carplay/Android Auto functions will stop... only the canbus info will proceed.
By the way: at this moment Voice Control in Android Auto is NOT supported with Bluetooth headset! (Chigee says the are working on it)
They sell these unbranded online for under $200. $600 seems like a pretty big markup.
you mean the GreenYi derivatives?
That's really annoying when you're out on the twisty backroads and your phone shuts down.
eyyyy the ola englund album nice...
Great looking tech, but I think I'll wait until it's no longer just an Indigogo dream and they start shipping them. You didn't mention what the resolution is on the cameras or SD card capacity limit.
Any sun glare issues? It would probably be fixed with a matte screen protector, but just curious about it.
Also, does it have any waterproofing certification... Or case? I know my 919 can pass through a rain storm, but can that little thing do the same?
Shout out from your romanian 919 bro 🤜🤛
Take care!
No sun glare issues, and it it does have one, but I can't remember which
