I believe the sprite when Sonic jumps is a reference to a bootleg hack game calle Super Mario & Sonik 2 (hacked from Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers) as the Sonic sprite for that game was custom, and it looked just like that.

I’ve got an idea for a Sonic fan game.
Sonic Boom
- Tails and Sonic grew up
- Sonic with a scarf, Tails with these glasses.
- Sonic is able to jump and press jump again to dash and destroy the nearest enemy or get launched off a spring.
- Sonic is able to dash. (Basically the Previous one)
- By playing with only tails if you have more than 100 rings you can use your plane to fly and destroy enemies. (Drains rings faster than super forms do)
- Eggman will have his robots from Boom.
- There will be an exploring zone, I think it’s called green hills? It’s just where Sonic lives.
- Knuckles will have the ability to punch the ground to summon a wave that destroys everything around him.
- BeeBots will be added.
- Orbot and Cubot will be NPCs like eggman.
- The EggMobile will have 2 extra seats for Orbot and Cubot.
- Amy and Sticks will be unlockable partners.
- By playing with Amy, you will be able to use her hammer to destroy enemies.
- If Sonic will have all chaos emeralds, he will be able to use the Speed Accelerator, or whatever it’s called, (A Creation by tails) the ring drain gets stronger the higher you put the speed. If you have 100 rings and you will set the speed to Max. It will drain in about 30 seconds.
