I’m really glad that the Void is getting a major role in the upcoming Gumball movie. It’s definitely interesting to think that Elmore is now being considered a mistake.
I mean like the whole original concept of the show is rejected character designs being put together so it would make sense that it would be seen as a mistake
I actually think that the fact that we don't actually see Rob's escape as told in The Nobody makes sense. Those actions are explained to us through Rob's flashback, in HIS perspective. Meanwhile, in this episode, we're only seeing things through Gumball and Darwin's perspective. He's so forgettable that they don't notice him calling out for them or clinging onto the van to escape. He's so forgettable that WE don't even notice any of that happening, and we have to be told directly by Rob himself that it happened. Maybe the void has more power than we initially thought...
This lend to a theory I have, it called the power of perpective, since the camera focus on gumball and Darwin or anybody who played a role in the show, somehow are able to miniplate the physical laws, we see it were gumball wanted to go super sian but wanst able till much later were he did in a brief comedic scene, the reason why was because Darwin didn't belive he could do it were later Darwin wasn't caring to much, it is why people disappeared simply because there is nothing to be engrain in the memory, why is it that only gumball and Darwin were able to find molly? Simple because they know her, for rob he never had an episode or any introduction to flesh out a unique character to the main cast, the downside is that they were not aware of it as there memories keep on getting erased or they forgot.
Idk how nobody realised but in the episode where rob kidnaps bannana Barbara the painting she paints at the end is rob falling into the void just as he does at the end of the last episode he even has the pigtail she paints him with and at the end of the episode the oracle she paints the watersons running away whilst Elmore is falling into the void
Wasn't there a short called "Darwins Yearbook" where Tobias mentions his sister saying she's gone, went to college and stuff? I believe locker 103 was Rob's because he's the only other student from Elmore Junior High that the universe tried to erase.
Either that, or it's an excuse the world made up to explain what happened to her. And that she's actually been in the void since the party and that she is still there today. But that's just a theory! A GUMBALL THEORY!
@@user-nm1lx8qb3u wouldn't be surprised the writers would stick to the college stuff if only because, getting rachel in the void would mean giving her plot relevance and seemingly they didn't want that
I like to imagine that the creators of the show where originally going to explain why some certain or other characters don't appear in the latest seasons anymore like in a regular interview, but then they just decided to go follow the "Theres-Another-Hidden-World" principle. It's makes it even better that the Void is literally another 4th wall break recipe considering the Show's unique style of showing how they break the 4th wall in a funny and cool way. I like that!

I think Rob's arc is one of my favorite arcs in all of media period. Because I was there, I knew about him earlier, I WANTED him to have a major role in the show, because I knew that a character with basically zero lines should have some potential. And he did. And he's not only a good but a FANTASTIC villain. And that made me happy. Some suggestions I have are The Master (Just having the whole family bounce off eachother really well) The Shell (My personal favorite, as it really speaks to me as a person) The Oracle (one of the most suspenseful and interesting episodes of the show that sets up The Future) and The Tape(Just absolutely hilarious)
12:49 if you look at the scene in the nobody where rob is hanging on for dear life, he's on the left side of the van, while in the scene from the void you see the right side of the van
I believe Gumball laid the foundation for a very interesting plot point for the entire Cartoon network multiverse in learning with Pibby if that ever gets made.
I believe in one of the Darwin yearbook episodes Tobias says that his sister went off to collage that’s why we didn’t see her after season 1 plus I think the creators didn’t like her character
Okay at the end of the episode everyones memory got wipe by the void taking their tinfoil hats but molly wasnt wearing one so she should remember her time in the void.
The seam in context of collective memory reminds me of a book I read recently in which, at the end, the main characters basically erased one of the characters from collective memory, making sure there is no documentation of their existance while smuggling them from antarctica to america to protect them from a life of press conferences. Even if nobody but the 4 people running the cover-up know of them, they still have an impact that cannot be removed and they still exist - as seen with the pictures and the seam.
I think that the reason Molly was in the void is because she wasn’t really being Acknowledged by the Audience so she didn’t have a place in Elmore after season 1 an
i like how even tho alpha is kinda big as a youtuber, hes interactive with his community. one of many things popular ytubers dont do. i appreciate that.
I also saw this little detail, in the episode "The Vegging" when Gumball tries to grab the remote, you can see that the house falls into The Void for a short period of time, meaning that it was probably already eating away at Elmore but failed.
every time. every time i see that ''OH!!! CHARACTER HAS DIED??? CALL THE REAPER!!!!!'' I FEEL LIKE JUMPING OFF A CLIFF I'VE SEEN IT SO MANY TIMES PLEASE PLEASE STOP THIS I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE
I have a thought about the void: In this episode, we see Molly frozen in time in her tree house, but when we see Rob in the background, he wasn't frozen in time like Molly. I think that since Molly was put in the void earlier than Rob, she slowly froze in time. But what if objects in the void slowly start disappearing after being frozen in time? This could make the void a bigger threat. When Elmore was classified as a mistake now, being in the void wouldn't be much different if people didn't freeze in time. But the void would be more dangerous if it would make everyone just slowly stop moving and slowly disappear. Just a thought ._.
The fact that the producers hated *[REDACTED]* so much that she doesn't even appear in the special dimension where all the rejected characters end up. I refuse to believe the she went to college explanation, they had 5 seasons to reference that yet no mention in canon, despite how meta the show is. It would really be meta if she appears as a special good guy/bad guy character in the movie though.
Tobias' sister was mentionned in the last 5 episodes where darwin is assigned to make a school year book and tobias told him that his sister was gone.....gone to university
I think the reason we didn't see Rob move was because gumball has some link to the void but the void itself has control over him, what he sees and what Audience sees, it's like essentially cartoon network considering we see three regular show references such as the mullet, jorts, and laser disc. In this case molly was the character written out of the show and Rob was just the background character cameo in our and gumball's' perspective but what the background character's thought us in gumball was to always pay attention a little more or you might miss it
I'm gonna put in a Nomination for "The Tape". It's kinda Gumball's "22 Short Films About Springfield" in that It's a format bender full of small sketches, that isn't particularly DEEP, but is just really charming, memorable and REALLY funny.
This episode was from gumballs point of view. So he didn't know about all that Rob stuff, and didn't relay it to us. But Rob was telling us what REALLY happened
Do you think they could actually tie in tobias’ sister into the movie somehow considering the void being a major role? Maybe not as a major character, but as a nod to her actually existing at some point and being forgotten in the void?
i always thought that the reason rob only appears once in this episode, standing still, is because the void even has an effect on the viewers. he was there all along, we just forget about him a second later.
the creepiest thing about the void is the fact that it seems to be living and sentient, although an environment. it purposely erases the memories of the people who witness it, so so far Gumball, Darwin, Small, even its own victim, Molly, so they can never know about its existence and never know that it is destined to grow farther to the point it’ll swallow their world. Gumball even ended up in the void again in the disaster/the re-run, and even after that it seems like he still doesn’t remember about it. Honestly I want to know why Rob specifically is the only self aware character that knows about its existence and purpose.
I believe the Void is the Mixel's equivalent to Dite from Metal Gear Survive, a parallel dimension accessible only by holes or tears in reality where mistakes are banished to.
Molly always interested since she was a regular in 1st season mostly as a background character, then she was gone season 2, and then season 3 happened, this episode always gets stuck in my head
Where Rachel went missing in The Amazing World of Gumball, she actually was proven to actually gone to college on “Darwin’s Yearbook” when Darwin asked Tobias what happened to her.
I'm glad they did not just throw Rachel in the Void. Still bit of a shame though that they ditched her. Aside from being mean at the first half of The Party, I actually felt sorry when she exclaimed none of her friends showed up and everyone trashing her parents house. Plus her being very nice and giving a well meant complement to Darwin for cleaning up. I gues they just couldn't think of anything interesting to write for her. It becomes more jarring when you think about how toxic her dad Harold becomes, making me wish he got cut out instead.
Alpha, have you considered that the Gumball finalie was written as unsatisfactory on purpose to make it feel as if the last episodes went into the void?
I love the concept of The Void a place where the forgotten go to for all eternity. Makes me wonder if there was such a thing in real life who & what would be in it? I definitely think Lightyear would be in such a place.
How do you know there aren’t? It’s really freaky, considering this, how many people went missing without a trace (but remembered) and how many people have said they feel like a member of their family is missing. Example: a woman who said she always felt like she was looking for an extra kid. Sort of like in the group picture with Molly, (my analogy not hers) she looked at her family or was getting them ready to go and felt someone was missing.
13:54 I want to believe the Void would probably let Molly's parents get out as a way to cover its tracks. As A consolation prize.... while also going somewhere else
I actually watched all the episodes of gumball and I’ve come up with theories of my own One of them is that mr small’s and Sarah actually know more about about the void more then rob because in one of the episodes Sarah said that she has been taking the meditation club with him and she saids this while looking at the camera I have more theories but I would have to dig through my notes
I wonder if someone asked the crew "hey what happened to ___, they use to be a background character and I noticed that haven't been used after Season 2" and then they made The Void for that reason. I also think Darwin might've kicked Rob into the void in The Pony since we he stays down there for the whole episode and we don't see him after that point.
I think that it would be cool if the movie makes rob have some kind of connection to the void, which would explain why he knew the void was doing what it was doing in the finale. I also hope molly is important because of a possible connection to the void too
I'm ok with Rob not being shown holding onto the van at any moment because it plays into his role of being so forgettable that he can't even be noticed holding onto the van in those shots until he tells us that he was holding onto the van in those moments.
Even as a kid I always believed that there was something more sinister and disturbing about gum ball that was covered by a blanket of humour and jokes.

Both should be up there as a great romantic payoff or villain showdown, the Disaster/Rerun being more intellectual, which is something else like other showdowns. Excluding those 2, I would recommend The Safety and The Mess . The Safety is great for some sort of heist approach to get to Darwin and a lot of "call the reaper" parts, with the old lady and the other almost casualties (Road Runner and Coyote-esque cartoon) and Darwin just shouting stop before going to the reaper xD . Also, a "Torso/Junk missing? Call the ... Uuuuuh ... Doctor?" I think Rob's arc is one of my favorite arcs in all of media period.
Oh yes I remember all that. Great take
Also Rachel, Tobias' sister appeared in multiple episodes in season 1
Appreciate the support, bro!
@@TheAlphaJayShow Glad that you know they exist. I'm gonna watch those episodes now that you mentioned them.
8:57
The Party (Major role, throws a party)
The Curse (At Daisyland at the end)
The Matchmaker (Flashback from Darwin)
I'm betting this is the place CN throws all it's ideas for good shows.
Great review 👏 amazing editing and scriptwriting. I completely agree
Thank you so much and Great icon!
@@TheAlphaJayShow Thanks!
Okay at the end of the episode everyones memory got wipe by the void taking their tinfoil hats but molly wasnt wearing one so she should remember her time in the void.
That’s a good catch!
Alternative theory:
The hats got sucked up with the memory, not the memory got sucked because the hats were gone
@@TheAlphaJayShow that's a good theory.
Rachel: exists for 1 single episode
The void: nope. Not today, nope
The void is probably the most interesting thing i have seen in gumball,
Great vid as always jay!
Thanks for the support, Mogii!
Indeed the void was the craziest thing I had ever seen on TV.
@@TheAlphaJayShow that is Tobias sister Rachel from the party
I also saw this little detail, in the episode "The Vegging" when Gumball tries to grab the remote, you can see that the house falls into The Void for a short period of time, meaning that it was probably already eating away at Elmore but failed.
every time. every time i see that ''OH!!! CHARACTER HAS DIED??? CALL THE REAPER!!!!!'' I FEEL LIKE JUMPING OFF A CLIFF I'VE SEEN IT SO MANY TIMES PLEASE PLEASE STOP THIS I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE
What a coincidence I just reminded myself of that show and that episode where Gumball fights in the void.
There's a lot of episodes that cover the void!
I have a thought about the void:
In this episode, we see Molly frozen in time in her tree house, but when we see Rob in the background, he wasn't frozen in time like Molly.
99% talking about the Void getting a major role in the upcoming Gumball movie
1% talking about how the Void is linked to Learning with Pibby
The fact that the producers hated *[REDACTED]* so much that she doesn't even appear in the special dimension where all the rejected characters end up.
I refuse to believe the she went to college explanation, they had 5 seasons to reference that yet no mention in canon, despite how meta the show is. It would really be meta if she appears as a special good guy/bad guy character in the movie though.
still holding out hope that in the movie or series the old Ball and Darwin VAs return in some capacity
Tobias' sister was mentionned in the last 5 episodes where darwin is assigned to make a school year book and tobias told him that his sister was gone.....gone to university
Tobias doesn’t have a sister, duh 🙄
@@TheAlphaJayShow oh you're right, my bad
The last 5 episodes belong to the void anyways lmao 🤣
I think the reason we didn't see Rob move was because gumball has some link to the void but the void itself has control over him, what he sees and what Audience sees, it's like essentially cartoon network considering we see three regular show references such as the mullet, jorts, and laser disc. In this case molly was the character written out of the show and Rob was just the background character cameo in our and gumball's' perspective but what the background character's thought us in gumball was to always pay attention a little more or you might miss it
They actually did confirm what happened to Tobais's sister. Apparently she left for college.
Pibby enters the chat room ever since this foreshadowing alone.
That is a theory for sure!
Maybe.
Starting to think that in order to keep Molly in the show, the void took Tobias' sister and no one cared.
5:02 actually Rachel went to collage. it was revealed in Darwin's yearbook episode 2
Do you think they could actually tie in tobias’ sister into the movie somehow considering the void being a major role? Maybe not as a major character, but as a nod to her actually existing at some point and being forgotten in the void?
Except She's canonically gone to college
@@aperson5215 oh I didn’t remember that. Maybe that was said in an episode that I don’t remember, but that actually makes more sense
@@trentwheeler4759 It was in Darwins Yearbook
i always thought that the reason rob only appears once in this episode, standing still, is because the void even has an effect on the viewers. he was there all along, we just forget about him a second later.
Especially the Houses that became a painting on a Curtain like Wall!
Its so eerie
the creepiest thing about the void is the fact that it seems to be living and sentient, although an environment. it purposely erases the memories of the people who witness it, so so far Gumball, Darwin, Small, even its own victim, Molly, so they can never know about its existence and never know that it is destined to grow farther to the point it’ll swallow their world.
The recurring channel joke about anyone dying "random women on the street died? call the reaper" keeps me coming back
“This is the void,we don’t venture out into the void, not even I know what’s out there”
The void does got an interesting concept and idea that I want to learn more of it.
Rachel to ias’s sister went to collage, Darwin said so In Clayton’s yearbook episode
Alpha, have you considered that the Gumball finalie was written as unsatisfactory on purpose to make it feel as if the last episodes went into the void?
8:20 *E M O T I O N A L. D A M A G E*
- I had too 😂
Some Suggestions for the Best in every season that you haven't already reviewed are
The Sock, The Words, The Lie, The Origins, The Test, The Slip
I love the concept of The Void a place where the forgotten go to for all eternity. Makes me wonder if there was such a thing in real life who & what would be in it? I definitely think Lightyear would be in such a place.
And if it was, we wouldn't know much of what's in it apparently
HEY THAT MOVIE WAS UN-BUNGA-LIVABLE AND U CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND!!!!!
@@TheAlphaJayShow True.
@@SupHapCak That thing about the woman sounds interesting can you remember where you heard it?
13:54 I want to believe the Void would probably let Molly's parents get out as a way to cover its tracks. As A consolation prize.... while also going somewhere else
THE FRIDGE
I argue this to be the best episode of the hole series
1:13 always gets a laugh out of me XD
props to the editor
Props to the editor indeed
@@TheAlphaJayShow eyyyyyoooooo thanks for replying
10:58 its called a coma
9:57 im only now noticing the jean shorts in the shot, which when combined with the mullet makes it a Regular Show reference
It was confirmed in one of the episodes that Tobias's sister went to college.
I actually watched all the episodes of gumball and I’ve come up with theories of my own
One of them is that mr small’s and Sarah actually know more about about the void more then rob because in one of the episodes Sarah said that she has been taking the meditation club with him and she saids this while looking at the camera
I have more theories but I would have to dig through my notes
I wonder if someone asked the crew "hey what happened to ___, they use to be a background character and I noticed that haven't been used after Season 2" and then they made The Void for that reason. I also think Darwin might've kicked Rob into the void in The Pony since we he stays down there for the whole episode and we don't see him after that point.
14:04 are you talking about Rachel
I think that it would be cool if the movie makes rob have some kind of connection to the void, which would explain why he knew the void was doing what it was doing in the finale. I also hope molly is important because of a possible connection to the void too
I'm ok with Rob not being shown holding onto the van at any moment because it plays into his role of being so forgettable that he can't even be noticed holding onto the van in those shots until he tells us that he was holding onto the van in those moments.
Hmm, or they didn’t think about it too hard until later.
Hey, I wish I could toss my entire middle school experience directly into the voice. No fair that they get to!
Lol, it takes who you were to form who you are is what I'd say
Next can you talk about the episodes, “The Disaster”, and “The Rerun”
2:12 "like this: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was the craziest thing I ever seen before I loved it by the way keep it up alpha Jay.
That character exist Aplha Jay and you can't deny it. The Void shall not win.
2:13 nice transition
Even as a kid I always believed that there was something more sinister and disturbing about gum ball that was covered by a blanket of humour and jokes.
the void plays a huge role to the gumball story
I got one note of that reaper meme before cut to the midroll, and I never laughed so hard.
I like that white hoodie drawing btw!
I love the "Call the reaper" meme here on this channel
I do as well!
Maybe because rob was a random side character, it means that they forgot him even in the void.
Tobias,s sister will be remembered
Interesting how this video got released today when I was literally just watching The Future an hour ago XD
I just watched it a couple days ago! Made me feel excited ngl
@@pugpartyproductions9499 it's my newest favorite episode, it's so GOOD AHHHHH
Dude I'm watching it again idgaf
@@Mylesledragon that's cool! I think that it's my favorite too! Is this your first time seeing the whole show or are you rewatching it btw? I'm watching it for the first time
@@pugpartyproductions9499 it's complicated LMAO, I discovered the show back in 2017 so I'm definitely not a first timer. I also don't watch the episodes in order because I watched it on cable tv so ofc they didn't air the first episode
I missed these gumball vids
But the void is a wierd episode but in a good way its keeps you intrigued
How have you not talked about the disaster and the rerun
I know you discussed these episodes in seperate videos, but for the love of the show, just add them to the list as honorable mentions (or episodes 11-12). The Shell and The Disaster/The Rerun.
Uuuuuh ... Doctor?" Would be amazing xD
The Mess is just a personal great one to the different action scenes and the parts where Polly explains it all isn't ass boring as you'd assume. Just one that I enjoyed
I love the void concept
Same!
I hope the movie ( if it ever comes) will bring a great end to both gumball and a great villain ark or something to the void.
