Orgalorg actually does have one major weakness, Gravity, Glob says that the gravity on earth would crush Orgalorg into a “smaller more cuddly form” and he only changes back into Orgalorg once he’s out in space on the rocket. This actually lends credence to the idea of him being one of the weakest primordials. If the gravity of earth was enough to not only crush his massive form down to resemble a penguin, but also cause major memory loss, it stands to reason that every planet he conquered in his heyday had very light gravity.
Huh good point, it's a nice fit with his character when you think about it. He's greedy and always wants more because by himself he's pathetic among his peers
maybe Eath's gravity is more powerfull than other worlds's cause if you think about it, why would a comet go to the exact same place every one thousand years?
I think it also has to do with the fact that he was weakened from his fight with Glob and sent hurdling towards earth. They basically gave him a concussion which caused amnesia.
I like to believe The Lich was the one primordial who got lucky enough to reincarnate as a catalyst comet, giving him the ability to remember his past life as an ancient, while many other primordials jut reincarnated as far far weaker beings and possess no memories at all of their original form in the chaotic soup.
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast the well of power could just be the original lich's blood. Kinda like how choosegoose drank primordial blood, some random dude ended up falling into the lich's. The mushroom bomb might even just be some weirdo managing to weaponize it and fucking up royally.
@@blindtreeman8052 Plus i just remembered that there was one episode were the lich pocessed PB and not only did this happen do to she falling in the well but aldo to fully incarnate in her he needed to use the well again
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast I was thinking, what if the Lych is not a primordial, what if he's a Warlock. He hints to have gained access to primordial power level by nurturing and hunting knowledge across who knows how long. He escalates through levels very rapidly but doesn't seem to have factual access to the power of other primordials shown. I know is very subjective but in Golden Star how he narrates the story sounds a little like a teacher schooling about history, more than the teacher talking about his own origin.
About Coconteppi’s actions: I don’t really think it was a ingrained hatred for all mortals that caused him to be aggressive. He taught them magic after all. I’m led to believe he more so had a grudge. I mean, the wizards basically built a city around his barely alive body, trapped him for possibly millions of years, and were literally drinking his blood and messing around with his body. Imagine you have a non fatal heart attack and are passed out, and suddenly some ants start building mounds around you and tear you apart over the course of decades. I would probably want to kill every ant in existence if I were to awaken.
@@SirFailureactually parasites are some of the most crucial parts of an ecosystem! Truly all life has its place and without one everything around it could crumble
I buy into the primordial war theory. It's been used in alot of other works, usually describing creatures who came from a type of existence before things became as they are now, and the universe as it is now is so different from what they came from that it is anathema to them. Thus they constantly are trying to destroy it in order to restore or return to that prior state of existence. This can be seen in settings like Mutant Chronicles, Lovecraft's many works, Warhammer 40k, Star Wars, and even some SCPs. So it wouldn't surprise me in the least that these creatures whose existence was entirely different from what is now, would be completely antagonistic to it and its products, such as ourselves.
Something that's always ignored about the Lich's speech is the nothing part. There were Monsters, then there was nothing, then there was time. It's implied that there was a moment (though, without time, I don't think we can call It a moment) when Primordials didn't exist, they all died, and then the Multiverse came about. But, if so, how do several of them still exist?
Something happened between sea of monsters and multiverse. Probably start of time. I think for a moment, time existed separate from everything else caused nothing. Because if there was really nothing nobody would know anything about before
The Primordials must actually be fallen angels or heavily based on them. Revelations 12 7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for [b]them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Psalm 82 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. 2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. 3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. 5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations. Genesis 6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. 15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. 17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
Honestly, there's so many more questions about Orgalorg/Gunther's kitten with the information we had (but it's so funny that, besides an admiration for the Ice King, that it's the only thing he seems to really love)
I think that most of The Lich's knowledge comes from the fact that he is a Scholar of Golb, the self proclaimed "Last Scholar of Golb". And if he can actually tap into the knowledge Golb holds in some manner using his sorcery (Which is definitely possible if completely fusing with him is) then it's easy to see how he gained knowledge of the era of monsters.
There's another reason, primordials _exist across every timeline._ The Lich, quite literally, had to set up a major plot in an alternate universe while taking over that Jake's body just to attempt the same.
Considering that Orgalorg conquered and ruled over an entire solar system i think the theory about there beign a war among them is pretty plausible. Orgalorg shows us that some of the Primordials were conquerers, that subjugated planets for fun, it is not impossible that they eventually tried to take over eachother's domains resulting in a war.
On the concept of "good" Ptimordials , I do think it's semi possible. If all the Citadel prisonels were indeed weak Primordials( or their offspring) then it's worth to mention that they allowed Martyn to escape alongside them and probably even helped him survive in space. Now these guys were still cosmic criminals but still that has to count for something. Also two smaller versions of these criminals were seen just chilling in the space station in "BMO" (which again makes me believe that the Citadel prisoners were Primordial descendants like Kitten). Speaking of Kitten, since they are clearly neutral just doing what their parent wants,, you also have factors like nature vs nurture .
Also don’t forget about Gunther wishing to be like the Ice King. If Orgolorg is Gunther then being as evil as he is he would’ve chosen to be back or be even more powerful, but he didn’t. So maybe Orgolorg changed and became a semi good person
@@nigelwilliams7179 he is different when he is gunther. I mean you wouldn't call ice king simon but you can see simon peeking through. gunther being called the greatest evil by people such as abeedeer is orgalorg peeking through.
Also, the whole thing about Primordials being able to share a consciousness across all dimensions is something completely specific to The Lich. There may be a chance that the other Primordials function like this or there may not be. However as of now The Lich is the only one with this known trait tied to him.
It's true it hasn't been confirmed for the others though I'd assume this is the case for them as well. Mainly because the Lich displayed this but not Finn. This could be attributed by the lich being a primordial but I could be wrong 🤔
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast I assumed it was because the litch from farmworld split himself across all parallels dimensions, so there is bits of him everwhere that are of the same him, and that being the link, though it could just be prolimordial monster stuff
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast seeing what happened at cut hand of farmworld lich across multiverse i think primordials got split into multiverse while still remaining a singular being when they entered universe/multiverse from outside.
@Morgan Null Lich was an agent of change opposed to Finn that came from a green comet (killed the dinosaurs) as opposed to Jake's blue version. Definitely not a Primordial. Lich is only as powerful as he is because he incarnated into a 'living' being when the magical mushroom bomb went off.
Two thoughts/response. The primordials lost when time began, like, time happened, life happened, the monsters before that remained are ultimately cosmic losers. Second, the lich's entire defeat was about how once he tasted the cycle of life he could no longer be a creature of the end(not death, the end), once sweet pea exists the lich is not a threat and every reppearance slams down harder on that. so i don't think he ever actually died and was reincarnated until sweet pea subsumed him.
Personally, I think Warren Ampersand was a primordial, not just a random alien. He didn’t make up Ishkano, Ishkano is just his true form. He can control and terraform entire planets, and the photograph representing Ishkano looks like a lot of the primordials, the transformation he uses to teleport is similarly bizarre and looks like the tree-like primordial we see in the sea of monsters. But he is dying, and I think part of the reason almost no primordials are left is simply that many of them were destroyed by time. They existed before it, yes, but it’s creation may have been a containment measure by the winning side. Making the weaker among them vulnerable to death by time keeps them from ever gaining too much power during a single lifetime, and forces them to start over, even if that lifecycle is thousands of years.
It's also entirely possible if not likely that Ishkano was his original incarnation as a primordial, and due to his sheer power he was able to remember himself past his reincarnation, though now stuck with a body that while extraordinarily powerful is still able to fade over time, which would explain his ability to reproduce in ways that don't seem as disconnected as Kitten is to Orgalorg, as well as his sort of semi-docile nature.
Also the fact that the lich was used as a gag in season one in the billy song Fun fact: meanwhile in english he is referred as king Lich in Italian he was called as king skeleton i think because initially they didn't think to make become the Lich as the main villain or only the italian thought that him would'nt be rilevant
I have a theory that the reason the Lich is a nihilistic monster is because he went mad learning the truth of reality and the primordial monsters. He says he's the "last scholar of GOLB" which implies to me that he knew about the cosmic horror and devoted himself to it, but was not one of said cosmic horror. He's like a really powerful Lovecraftian cultist
He simply is the avatar of destruction, each catalyst comet represents a law of the universe, the Lich is the law of oblivion, he represents the uninevitable death of the universe, that all things are destient to die at some point in time, that's the natural course of a universe, inexistence is followed by creation which is followed by existence and then comes oblivion after everything is gone again, just like Finn stands for creation and good, the Lich stands for the opposite, which is destruction and evil But the Lich is also a conscious, thinking being, so he was capable of learning and understanding things like any other creature but being that he is a primordial being that can understand things far outside the of the realm of normal mortals he ended making the decision to pledge his purpose to Golb because Golb is a God of Chaos and Lich being an avatar of destruction which brings chaos, so it would only make sense if he'd devoted himself to the very being that stands for the thing his purpose represents Funny thing is the Liches goal is oblivion and death, true stillness which brings peace, the complete opposite of what Golb is, that is something even the Lich is to blind to see and which is why he felt lost after reaching his goal, he was so blinded by his devotion to Golb that he forgot his true purpose
In Adventure Time, magic brings with it madness. Maybe the original wizard taught mortals magic because he knew of the madness and suffering it would bring them. Also, the Lich seemed to make a big deal about being able to exist in multiple realities, which would imply that he didn't already. So I'm not so sure that existing before time automatically means they exist in every timeline, or that they share a hivemind.
"Magic brings madness" seems to be tied specifically to Urgent Evergreen's crown. Iirc the gems are eyes of a magma beast, and it's said these eyes grant you any wish but you will go mad in exchange. The crown also gives one ice powers because Urgent, the ice elemental, made it to freeze the Lich Comet. The only wizard we see go insane is Ice King
@@tanandalynch9441 It's expressly stated that it's intrinsically tied with all magic. Many wizards are able to control it and only be a little mad, but signs of at least a little madness are shown in nearly all magic users who receive enough screentime.
To be honest. A major theory I have is due to the fact that earth is the site of catalyst comet collisions in every universe/multiverse it brings change to the earth giving earth its sort of weirdness and magic causing it to weaken those who enter it and maybe even its residents. We see examples of this like when orgalorg escapes earth, when the lich leaves earth into the citadel and casually wipes the floor with the guards who can casually reach across the multiverse, and finn when he gets a major amp being able to pierce orgalorgs primordial skin. Additionally jake is able to push his limits to another level when leaving earth with his father.
i also remember seeing the theory that finn is ALSO the reincarnation of a primordial, a primordial of good. since in the sea of monsters you can also catch a glimpse of one monster that resembles not only a long-haired finn, but also monster/ghost shoko. then adding to how finn is a reincarnated catalyst comet kinda adds to it a bit. its not much, but i think its worth considering
This made me realize that 3 of the primordials we know of have been remade into benevolent (in one case) or at least ambivalent (in the other two) beings. First one is Sweet Pea. He was made from the Lich, still has some of those memories, is clearly quite strong and is shown to grow even more powerful in the future. He seems on the path to becoming a hero himself, as well. Then there's Orgalorg. Turned into a Penguin, tries to return to his old ways and powers, defeated and becomes penguin again. And it when Gunther gets the wish crown, he chooses to become the Ice Thing, when presumably he could have returned to his primordial form. And lastly Cocunteppi. Reborn as Peppermint Butler, clearly proficient in the dark arts, then reduced by dumb dumb juice into an even more "harmless" form, forced to start back at square one. And he too, when given the chance to regain power, rejected it and chose to live a new life. In each instance, it's like their mortal(for lack of a better term) forms have a separate mind or will. Each of them more or less rejected their primordial selves. Sweet Pea was most blatant, challenging and defeating the hand Lich. Gunther is a bit roundabout, Orgalorg was forced back into shape and Gunther just never made an attempt to get back to space and return to that life. And old Peppermint Butler... I'm not sure if he would have gleefully embraced his past as Cocunteppi, or if he would have tried to work the situation so he could gain the power without losing his Self to the primordial. We only had his ghost/curse thing to reference, and we don't know how true to him that thing was. As it stands, once Little Peppermint ejected the Ichor, he made no effort to consume more, and openly rejected his past in Peppermint Butler as well as Cocunteppi.
The implication of the lich being a primordial also heavily implies Finn was one as well. Note that the lich is the only one who recalls the sea of monsters. Peppermint Butler doesn't despite being Cocunteppi and as Gunter orgalorg cannot remember anything. And if primordials become catalyst comets then Finn was once a primordial
@@tanandalynch9441 It's funny to imagine that instead of being this all powerful being. Finn just looked like his regular self surrounded by a sea of the giant primordial beings
I'd like to offer my own two cents as to the identity of another primordial: Matthew. Exhibit A: He has extremely similar powers to bot GOLB and Orgalorg. The ability to break down beings to their base components and add their power to his own Exhibit B: He states that when the second age of terror starts, he will emerge in his final form and restore order to the world. And what's he second age of terror? when Cocontempi comes out and starts wrecking stuff. Who else but a primordial would be able to confidently say they'll take on a primordial? And finally, Exhibit C:how he dies. Now, maybe not every primordial is tied to a concept, but those who are are completely negated by that concept's opposite. The lich for example, is tied to death, and when he can't kill is frozen, and when confronted by pure life in the guardian blood, is suppressed. Matthew, if anything, is tied to conformity, all beings broken down to become part of something greater, ego death at it's purest. Lemonjohn meanwhile, was a being who cared for others created by beings completely obsessed with themselves. An individual amongst individuals. That's why candy created by lemonjohn kills Matthew, they're diametrically opposed at their cores
In the wiki matthew is decribed as : "an entity who was actually a group of humanoid cultists merged together into one large being" Doesn't sound like a primordial.
We’ve never had an explanation for the giant crater on Earth. We know it didn’t come from the Mushroom bomb, so it must’ve been another weapon. Could you make a video on that possibly?
One thing about these "weird" and "mystical" cartoons, is that they will never fail to give me a crazy dreams. I would say since maybe 3 months ago, when i would watch Adventure Time like EVERY SINGLE DAY, that i've been understanding ppl more, and yk, their character/personalities. Thank you Adventure Time.
I think the fact there wasn't the concept of Time, Space, Reality, Causality, the entire Non Existence was pure chaos, so they decided that they would coalesce into order to make their own existence more bearable.
My theory on Coccontempi is that he genuinely taught mortals magic and was working with them, but they were terrified. They used the anti-magic entity to weaken and then "kill" him but he transformed into Peppermint. That's what made him hate mortals.
I also think that the monster primordial range in strength to kinda explain how orgalorg is at most solar system level where as other are universal entities
It would be cool if you made a video on the adventure time hierarchy: The strongest would be the cosmic imagination. The weakest would be the snail or the little people. What do you think?
Hey dude I love the longer videos, but I wanted to speak up and say that my favorite kind of content is the kind you are happy making. Love both kinds of videos, long or short, but more than that I just appreciate the daily effort we get to see from you in whatever form it takes. Lots of love dude, keep it up.

@@hooktraining3966 while that is likely Hunson's form, keep in mind he can only use his powers with the amulet- maybe this primordial was somehow trapped/turned into the amulet, and given to the ruler of the nightosphere to use it's powers?
Honestly I think the lich is the scariest villain in adventure time golb and orgalorg are powerful and scary enough but the lich has the creepiest atmosphere and imagery of the show and I imagine gave many kids nightmares.
I made a theory on Twitter basically saying that the Lich may use the Primordial Monsters to end everything, it's clear that the Lich can't end all life by himself but if he were to somehow magically convince the Primordials to join his side across the universe and possibly multiverse he'd literally be unstoppable When the Lich mentioned the Primordials in Golden Stars I really do think it had a bigger meaning than some people may think
He actually tried this exact thing. He possesses the ability to take control of almost any creature. He mind controlled or at the least corrupted the ancients in the citadel. He was going to go to every realm and exterminate every world. He was going to collect the remaining ancients to "command a great and terrible army"
Looks awesome, man. This is the break I needed in the midst of studying for finals. I'm definitely on board with the idea of the Primordial war, I think it would be really fitting and sort of make sense. Sorry if I'm not my usual speculative self, finals have me exhausted.
Theory: older sweet p was what the lich looked like as a primordial, then died somewhere before he prehistoric era (gunther dinosaur era) then the catalyst comet "put the lich's essence" into the planet, and then the mushroom bomb goes off, "activating" the lich's essence and reviving him with his skeleton as his physical form. My proof? Sweet P and his beard are yellow. Cocontepi and Orgalorg are both yellow in origin. In gold stars, the "primordial soup" was yellow. Hence, sweet p was the original form of the lich as a primordial.
Finn does know about the sea of monsters but chooses not to because he wanted to experience life. And you cant understand the nuances of life if you never experience anything for the first time
I’m curious to consider where GOLB sits into this in that both are enemies of chaos and GOLB does inhabit a void in which could be similar to the primordial void
this video is amazing!!!!! i’m so glad you stepped out of your comfort zone with a longer video. if you find it not to be your thing, that’s okay. but i would love for you to tackle golb in the future if you haven’t already (though this might be another long one). there’s so many cosmic ideas and threads in this world to discover and your takes are always a hit!
Also if you’re theory about them existing as a hive mind throughout the multiverse is true, does that mean that all versions of him changed form when Gunter used the crown to transform into The Ice Thing (official canon name) and could him being transformed through the power of wish magic be a form of destroying him?
I'm not sure, though I'm pretty sure it's same mind different body. So only one version would actually turn to the ice thing and the others would be like "TF did other me do?"
My bro, I didn't think you would make longer videos. And I didn't think you needed to. But I can see you not only kept the quality on this longer one, you amped it to 11000. Congratulations as always, I want to see you at 1Million soon brother. Because I'm sure 100K is coming soon.
Just thought of a new theory regarding the Lich. What if prior to the Sea of Monsters, there was another universe, not too different from the current one, but then some if not all of the sentient life in that universe evolved into the Primordials. They spread throughout reality itself, consuming everything until eventually, there was nothing left but them. This is when the Lich comes in. Either from the Cosmic Imagination or Golb, the Lich was created to wipe out the Primordials as they were the only sentient life around. He mostly succeeded in his task and reality became nothing. Then the Cosmic Imagination created a new universe and the Lich was laid dormant, eventually reincarnated as a Catalyst Comet to slowly build up power until the day comes when life reaches a point of becoming Primordials then the Lich would do his job once again.
That's one of the things I love about AT. It seems so lighthearted but there's this incredibly dark lore just off in the background. Like how there's all these cosmic horrors just lurking off in the background. Also the fact that many of them still exist (the being in the most recent Adventure Time special wizard city was actually one of them) means who knows how many other horrors from before time still exist. Waiting to pounce. Also I am off the theory that the Lich and Hunsun Abadeer are also Primordial beings. But just took on more humanoid shapes.
I think hunson abadeer’s amulet creature form is an imprisoned primordial or at least a primordials blood. You can see him in the see of monsters and obviously he’s extremely powerful
I’ve fallen in love with your videos after my partner has had me watch adventure time over 30 times lol. I would always theorize in my head so it feels good having someone like minded answering some of the questions I’ve always wondered. Getting a long video from you is such a blessing thank you!
Glad you like the videos 😊 Also thank your partner for me, it's always nice to have some new people in this community and there's definitely more to come so stay tuned!
One thing I noticed is that Orgalorg speaks in the same humorous teen slang manner as most of the other characters. The Lich on the other hand is one of the few who is drop-shit serious all the time. Not sure if this was to make him more of a threat but I'm glad they did since Ron Pearlman is one of my favorite male VAs of all time. Maybe also since Orgalorg was offed so quickly after his re-emergence they just wanted him to sound funny I guess as if he wasn't so much of a threat.
@@tanandalynch9441The Primordials existed before time and ages though, so those concepts are meaningless to them. Orgalorg is just plain weaker than the rest, I suppose.
OH my gosh.... I was wanting to get back in Adventure Time, but I had no idea that it was this insane. Wow. And this is fantastic! Great stuff dude, I'm so fascinated with this. This is giving me Elder Scrolls vibes mixed with Lovecraft. Crazy.
We know the Lich is a student of Golb and he's not like a normal being. I think If Finn had pursued magic or had any interest in ultimate power or cosmic awareness, which he has accepted he could have but doesn't really want because he enjoys the adventure actually living life brings, he would have been able to access the same memories of the Lich being another comet.
Honestly, I would LOVE if you did an annual 1-3 hour video where you go more in depth on a certain topic and go over ALL the details, although that’s probably because I forget stuff all the time lol. You did great with this one & I def enjoyed every bit of it! Thank you!😊
Could it be possible that catalyst commits are specifically the reincarnations of the primordials? That may explain there immense power and why Orgolorg knew of their power. If so could the catalyst commit that orgolorg tried to consume be a primordial killed recently, maybe one that was killed with the help of Martin Mertens.
Nah. The comet is the same comet, but it keeps reincarnating and colliding with earth every thousand years. Jake actually speaks to it and refuses an offer of evolving to a higher state. Jake was made by the comet, same as the lich, and all three of them reincarnate in their own way along with many other catalyst comet collisions.
@@gmork1090the lich was a catalyst comet too once. And I don't think one catalyst comet can exist if the reincarnation has yet to perish. Note that the lich is an undead creature, meaning he technically did die
The longer videos are appreciated, hearing a more in depth explanation of things helps further our understandings and makes the videos more interesting because of that. Keep up the good work Guy
The primordial war theory is a good one considering that the sea of monsters was all primordials but I have a twist maybe a few primordials or one had change of heart this would explain the citadel the ancients the cosmic and most of others who can harm primordials
I think I heard you say that Hunson Abadeer was a primordial. (Which is also stated in that one AT book but is technically non canon.) But if it was true what does that make Marceline? We see her 1000 years ago as a kid. Was he making babies with a human? Would it make her half human, half primordial who became a vampire? Is she all primordial but thinks she's his daughter? Just a weird thought.
The Lich is definitely a primordial. Why else would he tell the King of Ooo about it and then proceed to rise above the other monsters as if one of them and traumatize him? He was definitely trying to point out the fact that the King of Ooo messed with the wrong guy and how he wasn't just a dumb kid but a monster who has existed since before even time did.
What if Finn’s catalyst comet had something to do with the creation of the war against the primordials? I remember the lich comet being described as writhing with the desire to destroy all life, in each of Finn’s past lives he has been something generally good or neutral so what if his past life as a comet was used as the catalyst to rebel against evil. It surely plays into his character perfectly. This video has been eye opening! People who love adventure time are the best 💜
The lich is the last scholar of Golb, so he could have picked it up along the way Also Fiona and Cake touch on this but no spoilers And the lich wasn't everywhere until they added him in the farmworld
When The Lich said _"And before there was nothing. There were _*_Monsters."_* I always considered it as oversimplification. To make sure these mortals understand what he's saying, without going on about indescribables and sanity-breaking whatnots. In the most simplified way he could ever put it that is fundamentally understood, there were *Monsters.* And any child has had experience with Monsters. One of the first things we do growing up is put monsters in every dark space in our house. We can understand Monsters. We don't need several unpronounceable concoction of letters, we just need that firmly understood concept. _There were _*_Monsters._*
I always like the longer content more personally. Makes for good background when working or something I also just like learning tons of details hearing theories and opinions etc
imma be honest I have never seen you vids in my feed before, but I just finished watching all of adventure time so I had to see what was up. 10/10!!!!! This video is so amazing. I love the way you provided so much detail with limited info about these horrible creatures. I will DEF be subscribing to your channel dude can't wait to binge them all
This was such an entertaining piece of content bro, please keep up these longer vids if it doesn’t hamper your health too much. You’ve got such high quality speculation skills and narrating ability that having it in 5 minute bursts never seemed enough, stuff like this is a game changer. Love your content man, keep it up ❤
if i remember well, i heard somewhere that this thing that lemongrab destroyed with lemon candy was a primordial in process of reforming himself to finally assimilate the earth or something around those lines.. what would make sense with the theory of a war that left some of them injured at the point of needing millions of years and multiple lifes to reform but never fully dying
Surprised you didn't mention Abadeer as a primordial in this video. Also can you make a video on chronologius rex from the comics and where he would rank in the AT hierarchy?
I don't entirely like what they did with Black Magic. You see, the way Magic and Cosmic Entities worked in Advdnture Time, was that there a generaly established hierarchy of cosmic beings tied to mythology of Adventure Time, that held power over their domain. While it does seem that some domains have stricter hierarchy then others, there is no strict pyramid hierarchy that encompasses all. There are gaps and freedoms within those hierarchies. The way Magic was handled was that, foremost, there is Magical attitude. Different entities and type of persons have varying attitude that allows them gain access to psychic abilities and Magic. Both of which seem to have mental source. But once you do get access to power, which is achieved through you, you can get more power and develop/discover more sophisticated techniques to handle reality within the scope of your brand of Magic. By connecting to "currents" of power like elements, dreams, chaos .etc, you can harness more power and develop deeper perspective on reality in that context. So when Peppermint Buttler was performing Dark Magic, he was gaining access to various entities and worlds, like Nightosphere and Death World. For the demons from Nightosphere to pull blood out of their body and make it in to a sword or suck the soul of mortals, it's perfectly natural. They exist in the context of cosmic entities that hold power over those domains. In case of Ooo. Fire Princess is an Elemental, but Fire People are mortal entities that descended from Element of Fire. Fire People are born with gems that allow them to control fire to varying degrees. They don't have to go mad and sad to get access to Magic. They have access to Fire Magic, because it's natural for them. Fire Person that has access to Fire Magic, but wishes to explore other forms of Magic will likely have to go mad and sad to open that kind of "portal" within themselves and be able to shape reality in those terms. Considering all of that. I don't think Black Magic was...well, THE Black Magic. I think everyone had they own concept of Black Magic and what made any of those practices synonymous was access through higher level entities. So The Lich is incredibly powerful and has access to many worlds, those many forms of magic, but does not exhibit the same sensitivity to madnes and sadnes, because his a more complex being. His Magic is still dark, but is closer in terms of effect to original concept of what he stands for. To make things worse, the universal concept that seems to bind all Magic together is this MMS. Which means that all Magic is a dark to some extent. The concept that allows lower entities to gain access to higher power is tied to Golb, which is perhaps the representation of darkest concept in Adventure Time. Probably, without Golb, Magic would only be tied to one's station. Maybe one's nature. All Magic users seem to unconsciously know this, despite consciously maintaining some delusions. So creating THE Dark Magic kind of ends up as a strawman.
As someone who's only seen like, season 1 of Adventure time, when I was a kid, this is kinda a bonkers video. I had no idea the show gets this... bonkers.
i think they're almost extinct because they kept killing each other or there was a point where golb got hungry and ate most of them but i mainly think they were killing each other and i think they kill mortals is because of their lust for blood killing each other before time
Damn boxing a Primordial would be crazy just the fact there are people that can challenge them and even debilitate them to an extenct and/or Kill them is even crazier
11:50 I also wondered about this, given that Primordials have no respect for mortal existence and they always seem to act in a way to undermine Time and Creation itself. So whatever happened to begin time was probably the result of an entity that won in a battle of some kind that set about the beginning of everything. My headcannon is that he corrupts and posesses already living entities. We see this with the Snail being corrupted with his incantations, PB with the toxic sludge, Billy with the spell invented from the Enchiridion, etc. The Goo that he ran in to in the Citadel was essentially the blood of creation and turning in to Sweet Pea was the first time he had reincarnated in to a body with a consiousness seperate from his own.

I like to believe The Lich was the one primordial who got lucky enough to reincarnate as a catalyst comet, giving him the ability to remember his past life as an ancient, while many other primordials jut reincarnated as far far weaker beings and possess no memories at all of their original form in the chaotic soup.

Revelations 12
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for [b]them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Psalm 82
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
Genesis 6
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

I have the same thoughts. I don't think the Lich is a primordial primarily due to this fact.
Right? Lich might just be a wizard with an ego
@@hashtagbiscuits I don't think he's "just" a wizard with an ego

There's another reason, primordials _exist across every timeline._ The Lich, quite literally, had to set up a major plot in an alternate universe while taking over that Jake's body just to attempt the same.
Considering that Orgalorg conquered and ruled over an entire solar system i think the theory about there beign a war among them is pretty plausible. Orgalorg shows us that some of the Primordials were conquerers, that subjugated planets for fun, it is not impossible that they eventually tried to take over eachother's domains resulting in a war.
Can I ask where you get this info from...it's not a part of the main show
On the concept of "good" Ptimordials , I do think it's semi possible.
This is a good point, should definitely look more into this 🤔
Also don’t forget about Gunther wishing to be like the Ice King. If Orgolorg is Gunther then being as evil as he is he would’ve chosen to be back or be even more powerful, but he didn’t. So maybe Orgolorg changed and became a semi good person

@@morgannull4685 He is the last scholar of Golb. It’s only fitting he did his studies.
Or they are outside of the universe somewhere and don't care much about puny life in it
Personally, I think Warren Ampersand was a primordial, not just a random alien.
I binged adventure time in 2021 and it surprised me how deep the lore is and how brutal the series is especially with how lighthearted season 1 was
Yeah it gets dark fast 😂
Also the fact that the lich was used as a gag in season one in the billy song
Fun fact: meanwhile in english he is referred as king Lich in Italian he was called as king skeleton i think because initially they didn't think to make become the Lich as the main villain or only the italian thought that him would'nt be rilevant
He simply is the avatar of destruction, each catalyst comet represents a law of the universe, the Lich is the law of oblivion, he represents the uninevitable death of the universe, that all things are destient to die at some point in time, that's the natural course of a universe, inexistence is followed by creation which is followed by existence and then comes oblivion after everything is gone again, just like Finn stands for creation and good, the Lich stands for the opposite, which is destruction and evil
But the Lich is also a conscious, thinking being, so he was capable of learning and understanding things like any other creature but being that he is a primordial being that can understand things far outside the of the realm of normal mortals he ended making the decision to pledge his purpose to Golb because Golb is a God of Chaos and Lich being an avatar of destruction which brings chaos, so it would only make sense if he'd devoted himself to the very being that stands for the thing his purpose represents
Funny thing is the Liches goal is oblivion and death, true stillness which brings peace, the complete opposite of what Golb is, that is something even the Lich is to blind to see and which is why he felt lost after reaching his goal, he was so blinded by his devotion to Golb that he forgot his true purpose
I also see one that resembles Death and the ooze creatures

"Humility is no longer an option, its a punchline." god, that line is powerful.
I'd like to offer my own two cents as to the identity of another primordial: Matthew.
Exhibit A: He has extremely similar powers to bot GOLB and Orgalorg. The ability to break down beings to their base components and add their power to his own
Exhibit B: He states that when the second age of terror starts, he will emerge in his final form and restore order to the world.
A fun theory and I could definitely see Matthew being a primordial or some kind of cosmic entity.

I'm definitely on board with the idea of the Primordial war, I think it would be really fitting and sort of make sense. Sorry if I'm not my usual speculative self, finals have me exhausted.
No worries man 😊
I get that studies can be exhausting so don't stress yourself out. Happy this could give ya a bit of break.
Good luck on finals btw 😁
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast Thanks!
This is one of the few videos where i have to sit still and listen from beginning till the end, and thats something
Glad I got ya hooked 😊
Finn does know about the sea of monsters but chooses not to because he wanted to experience life. And you cant understand the nuances of life if you never experience anything for the first time
One thing thats really unbelieveable is that i did not knew this channel even being a Adventure Time follower and Wiki reader since 2011.
The Lich's speech to the King of Ooo will always give me chills. That mf got the best speeches in cartoon history.
Fr guy has the best quotes 😅
I’m curious to consider where GOLB sits into this in that both are enemies of chaos and GOLB does inhabit a void in which could be similar to the primordial void
A video about the oozer zombies would be interesting. Are they mutated humans, are they created by the mushroom bomb?
Hopefully we can get more information from the new shows coming out next year! It would be so cool to see another one being talked about!
this video is amazing!!!!! i’m so glad you stepped out of your comfort zone with a longer video. if you find it not to be your thing, that’s okay. but i would love for you to tackle golb in the future if you haven’t already (though this might be another long one). there’s so many cosmic ideas and threads in this world to discover and your takes are always a hit!
I already did Golb but the quality was definitely questionable. Definitely gonna remaster that soon 😅
Glad you like the videos 😊
Also thank your partner for me, it's always nice to have some new people in this community and there's definitely more to come so stay tuned!
Where could I watch it? Kinda miss it
@@Fermin-hw5pd HBO max has all episodes. Same as Hulu!
He's a small primordial, odds are he's no older than a teenager compared to the others
@@tanandalynch9441The Primordials existed before time and ages though, so those concepts are meaningless to them.
Orgalorg is just plain weaker than the rest, I suppose.
If it’s possible that Primodials specifically can reincarnate into Catalyst Comets, would that imply Finn might be a reincarnated Primordial?
Nice editing man first time watching ur vids but love the effort u put into them
Thanks for the visit 👊
It's definitely been awesome making these and I'm happy my editing skills are improving even if it's just a bit 😅
OH my gosh.... I was wanting to get back in Adventure Time, but I had no idea that it was this insane. Wow. And this is fantastic! Great stuff dude, I'm so fascinated with this. This is giving me Elder Scrolls vibes mixed with Lovecraft. Crazy.
Glad you enjoy the video and hope you rewatch adventure time(Nostalgia gonna hit you like a truck 😅) also yeah pretty sure it's inspired by ES and LC
My dude you are the reason I’m watching the series again for the… sixth time? Keep up the excellent content if you can. It sustains me.
Definitely gonna keep up the pressure so hope you stick around 😊
@@gmork1090 I'm pretty sure that was finn who talked to the purple catalyst comet
Thanks and will do 👍
The primordial war theory is a good one considering that the sea of monsters was all primordials but I have a twist maybe a few primordials or one had change of heart this would explain the citadel the ancients the cosmic and most of others who can harm primordials
I can see that happening though the exact reason would be forever a mystery 😅
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast yeah and till the creators disclose it
I think I heard you say that Hunson Abadeer was a primordial.
Man you’re content is amazing, been watching every vid, keep up the great vids!
Thx man 😊
The Lich is definitely a primordial.
Welp, this was what I needed to contemplate rather or not god is just a leftover primordial that survived XD
😂
Love your content here since 1k! Can’t wait till you blow up!
Thanks for sticking around 😊

What if Finn’s catalyst comet had something to do with the creation of the war against the primordials?
I remember the lich comet being described as writhing with the desire to destroy all life, in each of Finn’s past lives he has been something generally good or neutral so what if his past life as a comet was used as the catalyst to rebel against evil. It surely plays into his character perfectly. This video has been eye opening! People who love adventure time are the best 💜
The lich is the last scholar of Golb, so he could have picked it up along the way
Also Fiona and Cake touch on this but no spoilers
And the lich wasn't everywhere until they added him in the farmworld
When The Lich said _"And before there was nothing. There were _*_Monsters."_* I always considered it as oversimplification. To make sure these mortals understand what he's saying, without going on about indescribables and sanity-breaking whatnots. In the most simplified way he could ever put it that is fundamentally understood, there were *Monsters.* And any child has had experience with Monsters. One of the first things we do growing up is put monsters in every dark space in our house. We can understand Monsters. We don't need several unpronounceable concoction of letters, we just need that firmly understood concept.
_There were _*_Monsters._*
Great job on the video! The switch on your channel from Anime content to Adventure Time cracks me up everytime you upload. Keep up the amazing work!
Yeah it's a bit of a weird switch 😅
I always like the longer content more personally. Makes for good background when working or something
I also just like learning tons of details hearing theories and opinions etc
dude this so damn mind blowing. i never thought so deep about adventure time like this. im glad i subscribed and please keep making videos like these
Glad you enjoyed and don't worry I don't plan on going anywhere there's definitely more to come 😊
Yessss! I've been looming forward to this! Great video, job well done. I really like your primordial war theory.
Your videos are so cool, as a fan of adventure time since the day it aired, it makes me very happy that a channel is making adventure time lore
Yeah love this show so I'm happy to cover it. Especially since the number of adventure time channels can be counted on a hand 😅
Yoo this one is even longer than 15min! Thats awesome, great work man! 👍
Thanks man definitely took some work but I like how it came out 😊

imma be honest I have never seen you vids in my feed before, but I just finished watching all of adventure time so I had to see what was up. 10/10!!!!! This video is so amazing. YES!!!! Glad to see you do a long video enjoy your 5 min ones but often times find myself wishing there was more lol
Hope you enjoy this one then 😊
Adventure time lore is so much that you can make a lot of content without ever getting bored, it offers a lot of unique stuff.
Great video. Don't push yourself too much though. It is okay to pace yourself.
Thanks and I'll try not to overdo it but definitely gonna push myself a bit 😅
Great video I really like your longer videos but it’s pretty cool.
If primordials existed before golb why would the lich call himself the last scholar of golb?
This is probably the only animated cartoon that emphasize the idea of cosmicism and Lovecraftian horror.
I should do a video on Matthew...
Surprised you didn't mention Abadeer as a primordial in this video. Also can you make a video on chronologius rex from the comics and where he would rank in the AT hierarchy?
Is he? I feel like he’s on the same tier as Glob
The ouch is a Scholar of golb who is another primordial so either there was a primordial hierarchy or he’s not a primordial
The primordials remind me of the Unnameables from AlphaTale/Alphaverse and Cthulhu mythos. Nice vid by the way
A question that you may have answered before, is Golb a primordial? Or is he something else entirely?
Pretty sure he's something else entirely. Considering he's existed since everything and was worshipped even by them so he's at least the strongest
As someone who's only seen like, season 1 of Adventure time, when I was a kid, this is kinda a bonkers video. I had no idea the show gets this... bonkers.
i think they're almost extinct because they kept killing each other or there was a point where golb got hungry and ate most of them but i mainly think they were killing each other and i think they kill mortals is because of their lust for blood killing each other before time
Hey that's possible too 😅
Damn boxing a Primordial would be crazy just the fact there are people that can challenge them and even debilitate them to an extenct and/or Kill them is even crazier
Damn i was about to sleep, i would've missed the video
Another sleep schedule ruined 😈
@@TrueLocalEnthusiast if its to watch ur videos then its fine
