This may be the best live recording of "ANY" song the group has ever done. I've seen them live almost every year since 1974 (Chicago VII). The vocals, music, the sound....everything was perfect!
I've been to a few Chicago live versions, but this one is my personal favorite; Dawayne Bailey's guitar playing is amazing, and the music feels as full and powerful as a rock song.
This song is so difficult to sing live.. But these guys are so professional musicians.. Without cetera iit is a perfect performance too... I love these guys...
Jason and Bill just kick ass. Their voices are awesome. Yes Peter was great, BUT, Jason, man you bring it! Their two voices compliment each each and sound so great together. This brings tears to my eyes and brings me back a few years.
I saw Chicago last night in Kingsport, Tn and I will say that Jason Scheff more than ably did the Cetera parts. The show in itself was amazing. Scheff must have sang lead on around half the songs and he sings them like he was there back in the day. I know that Cetera's leaving was acrimonious and I think it his loss. Scheff has been there 27 years. Amazing how time flies.
Crazy how good this song is. I grew up with them as kinda there good song, but now that I am older, 70.These guys played BIG Beautiful music and profound lyrics with this one. Love them Big fan
Oh my. Your hair, piano boy, is luxuriously lovely. May the sounds of your keyboard, and the lovely boy holding the base guatar, bless the dental offices throughout our fine planet.
After being separated from the Love of my life for 30 years (very long story), we reunited 2-1/2 months ago and he sent me this video. He confessed that every time he heard this song, he thought of me, and of us. Now, we're back together, and it's forever, and neither one of us has to worry about breaking this habit ever again. (thank you, my Love!)
That's the problem when a band becomes so popular and the songs iconic. They outlive the vocalists. They grow old looks fade, voices deteriorate but people can't get enough of them and still long to hear them becoz music is eternal...man is not....haissst
This was the era when oldies tried too look "Metal" or "Hard Rock", I really loved their outfits here, and that guitar solo ruled. As everyone says here this is the best Hard Habit, LIve Version.
Scheff was a fantastic replacement for Cetera. He's probably the only one who could have pulled that off. He's now been the bad longer than Cetera, FWIW.
Don't forget Robert Fleischman, who also sang in Vinnie Vincent Invasion album...what a voice! Steve Perry is a truly inspiration, but you have to listen to Arnel Pineda, he sings anything: Queen, Aerosmith, Chicago,...God Bless Him!
Coooool, I like this song, amazing musicians, this quality it´s free Cetera, wow, this is a band, nthing to see with El recodo, salutes from Metro Chihuahua´s Mexico
Thank you Thalysiakeuh .... he is the most romantic man ever. He's asked me to marry him and we've decided on this song as our first dance. Hope we can make it through without crying !!! ; )
Jason Scheff is trying to capture the vocal nuances of Peter Cetera......thus staying true to the records....and that's a good thing....Jason is a great player, singer, and writer.......Band people come and go....it's a fact of life...deal with it
Jason gives so much more than Peter ever did~~~~and Bill has always been a true musician..Met them at a party in Miami beach after show with some beautiful, talented musicians...I love these ,"real" people.......
JennaP46. How in the world does Jason give more than PETER in this song , the only thing he does is try to imitate him , I like Jason too but he will NEVER match Peter's distIncive voice !!!!
Peter Cetera, as a dad myself I don't blame you for a second for choosing to be with your young child rather tour than a hectic touring schedule..but how much better would this sound with him there, sorry Jason..can't put a square shape in a round hole..this and Chicago biggest hits were sealed with Cetera..Bill sounds great here and the band have still got it..one of the biggest missed opportunities was for the guys not to bury the hatchet and reunite..would have been magic..even to this day..
Scheff has long stuggled with his singing, and it's not just him suffering by comparison to Cetera. On the other hand, he has been working in the trenches with the band for a long time and deserves credit for that. Champlain is superb, and was a great addition to Chicago for those two great albums with Cetera -- 16 and 17. I largely lost interest in what the band did after that, as did most folks...
This is when Jason U-S-E-D to get close to being able to cover for Peter. Bill = Nails. Dawayne......I'm glad you were around for a while, but what were you thinking????
For all the people that keep whining about the old days with Kath and Cetera.....now you have something to REALLY complain about.... Pardini and Neeeeil.
Chicago at their best... Thank you Bill, Jason.. and that kid on guitar... wow! As for the rest of the band... were they hiding behind the curtains or in rehab?
To get back This power of AWESOMESHIP, The Dudes should reaquire their ORIGINAL 1991 line-up, and Do An Honor UNTO Terry Kath: Record his SOLO materials!!!
If Scheff had done the song originally, we'd all be trashing Cetera. Scheff had incredibly big shoes to fill and he did it well. No one was asking him to be Peter Cetera. They needed someone who could come up with the goods for their past material and be on point for the new. I agree with you about Bill Champlin. Anyone who bashes him is brain dead. He is a musician with the heart and soul of a poet. His songwriting is unparalleled.
This is the only performance of this song in the 90s where Bill Champlin didn't deliberately oversing, and it sounds incredible.
What about Detroit ‘92 or Chicago ‘99 ??
Dwayne Bailey's guitar game makes this band very powerful, its ability to play melody in the middle of the interlude cavity but becomes very cool ...
Bill's voice is exceptionally beautiful, along with Jason's!
So true! And Bill had some kick @ss hair back in the day! Seen some recent videos of Jason and Bill and they still both sing amazing as always
Dawayne Bailey is so underrated in this era of Chicago's Live performances. "Look away" from this time period was exceptional!

Bill is my favorite ! Love his voice!
Peter was a great singer for Chicago but both bill and jason did a fantastic job after peters exit. Bill has an awesome vocal! Wow

jason and bill such great feeling. never get tired of them. love love songs.
What a GREAT performance!!
It's a fabulous version,
Chicago still kicks ass in 2010, I just saw them live!!!!!!
Jason is undeniably perfect on this song. And so is Champlin. What a duo!
Oh my. Your hair, piano boy, is luxuriously lovely. May the sounds of your keyboard, and the lovely boy holding the base guatar, bless the dental offices throughout our fine planet.
Love Bill and CHICAGO anyway, what a band
I am used to hearing both Cetera and Scheff singing this. But, I listen to this song for Bill Champlin. My favorite Chicago song.
(thank you, my Love!)
one doesn't really know what he got until it's gone. Kudos Jason!
Great version of this. Much soul and groove and Tris is killin' it...
Good to be back!!!Chicago you're the best!
That's the problem when a band becomes so popular and the songs iconic. They outlive the vocalists. They grow old looks fade, voices deteriorate but people can't get enough of them and still long to hear them becoz music is eternal...man is not....haissst
Kath and Cetera, are still my favorite
I second that !!!!!!
Cetera is the king of soft rock
Not the classic Chicago, but guys! Awesome Line-up . Great perfomance and Bill is simply amazing!
Bill Champlain sucked ass. He was terrible.
Stu Smalls , you're a tone def idiot ..
Renato Palacios Bill is so Badass
Being without you, takes a lot of getting used to, being without you was all a big mistake :-((
One of my favorites! Haven’t heard this performance.
I am a forever Cetera fan, but Bill and Dwayne are amazing here.
But i cant get you out of my mind best part. miss bill champlin "the best
"
Love this song . Wish men would really love this way.
This was the era when oldies tried too look "Metal" or "Hard Rock", I really loved their outfits here, and that guitar solo ruled.
As everyone says here this is the best Hard Habit, LIve Version.
Listening to this is hard habit to break!!
Ahh. Bill. They were lucky to have you
being a replacement for a great singer in cetera makes this guy awesome also...
Best live performance
such a great song..
I love the lead guitarist, simply awesome. He looks pretty young though..
Believe it or not, he was 39 here, only a few years behind the founding members. Jason Scheff was the baby of this lineup at only 31.
My wife's Love and care are those habits that are hard to break.... I love you babyBing!
One of their best songs...
The guitar player is Dawayne Bailey
Ill never get tired of listening this song!
Jason is just great!!! CTA are a life force!!! God bless them!!
Scheff was a fantastic replacement for Cetera. He's probably the only one who could have pulled that off. He's now been the bad longer than Cetera, FWIW.
Don't forget Robert Fleischman, who also sang in Vinnie Vincent Invasion album...what a voice!

all i can say is REAL MUSIK
Bill was always the perfect mix to whoever the “lead” singer was.
Still the best !
Thank you Thalysiakeuh .... he is the most romantic man ever. He's asked me to marry him and we've decided on this song as our first dance. Hope we can make it through without crying !!! ; )
Love Jason's hair....also his singing!!
Jason Scheff is trying to capture the vocal nuances of Peter Cetera......thus staying true to the records....and that's a good thing....Jason is a great player, singer, and writer.......Band people come and go....it's a fact of life...deal with it
Jennifer Puhl Cetera did sing it in the video for this song.
@ Jennifer! You're a fucking moron! That's Peter Cetera in the original video. You need to pay attention dumb ass!
I love Jason and Bill’s beautiful voices!
chaz newby ... EXACTLY!
I agree. And I like jason's voice most esp in "Will you still love me".
well this song is so lovely...i love it so much!!!!
jason sweet voice period
Jason gives so much more than Peter ever did~~~~and Bill has always been a true musician..Met them at a party in Miami beach after show with some beautiful, talented musicians...I love these ,"real" people.......
JennaP46. How in the world does Jason give more than PETER in this song , the only thing he does is try to imitate him , I like Jason too but he will NEVER match Peter's distIncive voice !!!!

Wheres Donnie Dacus? I loved the Hot Streets album. Best live sound I heard chicago perform.
Lovely song🍸
Peter Cetera, as a dad myself I don't blame you for a second for choosing to be with your young child rather tour than a hectic touring schedule..but how much better would this sound with him there, sorry Jason..can't put a square shape in a round hole..this and Chicago biggest hits were sealed with Cetera..Bill sounds great here and the band have still got it..one of the biggest missed opportunities was for the guys not to bury the hatchet and reunite..would have been magic..even to this day..
Soooo true !!!!!!
Champlin's Captian Ron look. Excellent music.
To ZainaDancer

Bill Champlin 💕💕💕
Julie White 5 thumbs up
great stuff!
Bill rocks!
Robin you and I know it!
Love when the pianist sang look away by Chicago.
Great times great music
JUST A GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!!!
GREETZ FROM HOLLAND
This is when Jason U-S-E-D to get close to being able to cover for Peter. Bill = Nails. Dawayne......I'm glad you were around for a while, but what were you thinking????
Thank you for posting. Saludos a Rusia!
For all the people that keep whining about the old days with Kath and Cetera.....now you have something to REALLY complain about.... Pardini and Neeeeil.
Dawayne Is a glam rock , cool
Dawayne Bailey was great for Chicago. Talented on guitar, bringing a fresh new vibe to the band. Sad that he was kicked out.
WOW, congratulations !!
Jason is HOT period damn
Both of them sound good together.
Awesome 😊
This Band is a hard habit to break
Una excelsa interpretación en vivo de Chicago, sencillamente maravillosa.
Chicago at their best... Thank you Bill, Jason.. and that kid on guitar... wow! As for the rest of the band... were they hiding behind the curtains or in rehab?
Is it just me, or is this a bit slower than usual?
Love Bill's hair, though!
