I can’t figure out why Yamaha doesn’t offer a factory turbo. They use generally the same engine in the snowmobile application with a factory turbo. Typical Yamaha leaving it up to the aftermarket.

@@jamiemagdeleyns9152 Ski Doo uses the 900 motor in turbo form in the snowmobile line. It’s not even in the same league against the Yamaha version. Both stock turbos the Yamaha runs 6-8 lbs boost to achieve 205-206 HP, the Ski Doo was dyno’d around 192 in it’s latest version but to get that power they are running 16-18lbs boost. So it’s easy to see once in the hands of the outfits that flash them which has more potential with stock engine components. I have buddies running 350 HP on pump gas on their Yamaha’s.

I have been very happy with my yamaha, that 2 second difference is about 2 car lengths at the sand dunes.
Way cheaper, but it needs around $1000 in suspension work to keep up. It looks a lot better with a aftermarket cage.
The transmission is the highlight, it's so much more fun to bang through the gears and have full control over your drivetrain. That's really why I chose it over the others.

I'd rather have the reliability of a solid drivetrain over a slightly faster 0-60. Every one of these belt driven vehicles I've seen having problems. Plus it's way more fun banging through gears IMO. Gives you that old-school offroading feel where you've gotta put in work to be fast, not just put your foot to the floor and hold on. Plus, I've had a Rhino 700 since 2008 with nearly 20k miles on it. Granted it's belt driven too, but it doesn't have the power to really stress it much. Never once broke a belt and the original belt from the showroom floor lasted nearly 13 years. That thing is a fucking tank and I drive it pretty hard(within reason) for being stock. The only thing I've had to do to it is replace the exhaust because the headers cracked after 12 years when one of the mufflers came loose. Other than that it's just been tires, oil and air filter. Yamaha builds one hell of a reliable machine & when I'm far out in the desert, reliability is king.

That was not a fair comparison the two other ones have a turbo in them the yxz is Naturally aspirated making 70hp less then the Polaris &Can-am horsepower . If they put a gt1241 from Garrett or Borg Warner kit on it or at least 100 shot of nitrous to be even close to stock Yamaha but yes Yamaha for life all day long no rubber band worry about and people say the Yamaha it looks cheap I think it’s more higher quality than the Can-Am or Polaris I don’t know how many times I see broken parts on both the only thing I ever broke on my YXz is the front axle. People are just dumb they don’t understand the economy knowing that they’re getting ripped off and paying $15grand over the price because they don’t know how to put on a turbo kit. You pay a premium for upgrades suspension performance whatever Yamaha has fox shocks on it they’re namebrand Yamaha‘s been around longer and both of them when it comes to power sports I believe yamaha has high quality checks from the factory then can am and Polaris. I just don’t like seeing people rag on about the Yamaha I love rowing gears in it and I will never let it go I have 5500 miles on mine and it’s still going with gt1241 turbo Journal bearings. With ftecu fuel tune the turbo starts spooling at 2,000 rpm enough said…
