I like the switch on the Stihls. They are just less obnoxious. I might somday pick up the Holtsforma g372xt clone when it's 89 bucks like it is now.

Two of the best saws I've owned.

My 395 I ported is great for many reasons: 1. Could do base gasket delete without machining required 2. Run 8 pin with 28" full comp and still plenty of torque for hardwoods 3. clears chips well, even when noodling 4. nicely made starter/recoil assembly which is necessary.

True story: for one day only, we traded saws, my 390xp for his 661. My chain is sharp, rakers set. Tuned for hardwood. His chain was a hot mess. So I filed it, set the rakers according. At the end of the day I wanted my 390 back, he did not want to give it up. Said, wow, your saw is smooth running.
My hands aren't tingling. Most of the problem was his chain. Still, ain't no smooth running saw. Yoy, my teeth are still rattling. 😬

I like them all for different reasons. This year I'm excited to get my Mcbrick saws out and put them through their paces. I've also got two 3.7ci craftsman poulans that I pulled the base gasket, did some cleanup on the ports, and drilled the covers. I've used them all a little, but haven't gotten serious yet.

395 is pretty much a given in my book. The 660 is a great saw but the 395 will out cut it pretty much every time. People that have done testing on the larger cc saw will tell you the same thing.

Well I fell timber here in PNW and I used nothing but Stihl and Husky. I liked the husky better but it seemed the Stihl lasted longer. Both great saws.

When I was working on saws full time my boss always kept screws recoils, and recoil parts for the Husqvarna saws in stock. The Stihl saws didn't have that problem. I will say on 030,040,041,and the like you always had to keep an eye on the muffler screws. As long as they were tight they were golden. You also didn't have as much trouble out of the Oilers. The Husqvarna was usually faster.

Just like car brands people get brand loyalty with saws. Troth is ever brand has something they do better than another brand and something they do worse right. Every once on a while a brand gets everything right on one saw and its a winner.

I run echo husky Stihl for mowing and landscaping company I own, I found that it depends on what your application is to what you should buy. I own all brands and I'm not loyal to anyone but the best tool for the best job. God bless!

The reason I bought my first new Husky was because of Stihl owners. Trying to get info or pros and cons advice from them was frustrating. It's the best is not an argument/explanation. It's like a cult.

Use all the 3 orange brands, like that you still can get a 395 for now. Stihl is all electronic now unless someone buys a clamshell. More models to choose with Husky also.

I agree with you on the Husq/Stihl debate. I like all saws so I’m not brand loyal to any, because I like them all. Each saw has its purpose and use. Gets me everytime when the fan boys say, use Stihl only cause they are USA made🤨🤨🧐🧐. Uhhh nope. But the great video showcasing the 2 saws. Definitely both great saws but as with you, the Stihl brand has never been for me due to hype only. Plus they just to dang expensive and marked up stupid high for what you get. That’s my Opinion anyhow.

Speaking of Italian saws. One of the best, toughest, and reliable saws I've ever owned is my Olympyk 264F Deluxe. I was cutting cedar, and firewood for sale, and it was a tank.

    Best quotes of the video-
1.) Soft Hands Steve is a firm believer that Shampoo and Conditioner are two SEPERATE products.
2.) Good, I'm sitting here Whacking Off!
Hahaha! Great delivery on the 2nd quote!
I just bought a brand spanking new 395xp about 2 weeks ago. I had to get one since this is the last year they are being produced. At least I think that is true. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyways, great video! I am the exact same way as far as Stihl is concerned. I always hear this one guy I know who really doesn't know anything about chainsaws saying that Stihl is way better than anything else and it just is not true. I too like some stihl saws. I just am over it. I like my Husqvarna's. I dont have a lot of saws. I have 7 in total. But they are all Husqvarna's except for 2. One echo 4910. And one Stihl 084 AV. Great video Boedy! Soft Hands Steve rules!

I need to be able to work on my saws, bar none. I can download the IPL (Illustrated Parts List) for my Echo and Husqvarna saws online with no issue. I can buy my Husqvarna and Echo parts online. I can also find the workshop manuals for my saws online. Stihl protects their local dealers and their business model is to go through them. IMHO, it is worth it for me to stay with the Husky and Echo saws. That beings said, I do have a 661 and an 024, and they are good saws.

Seems to go more by region. Around where I’m at husqvarna is the popular go to and some stihl but go a couple hours west and it’s the opposite. I think both are good but I do think husqvarna as a general rule has a little more low end grunt. I’ve run and owned stihl and currently own and run husqvarna and a dolmar. Curious about the echo 620 as well just don’t know anyone that owns one to try

German Engineering, Swiss Made etc. are marketing slogans only, it does not mean anything about quality and performance of a product. Beeing open minded helps to find the right tools and save money. I personally think that espacially the smaller 50cc ish Stihls handles like a brick compared to other brands like Husky, Jonsered, Echo…

The 660 will last longer. It's just a nicer quality saw. My 395 rattles, the bolts come loose, the plastic is cheaper, the flimsy choke lever... I like all brands, but , I can guarantee the Stihl 66O is made better.

If your rough and use a saw to get the work done, you better get the Still... Husky's won't take it. They are plastic candy ass saws that I have broke more springs and bushings on than care to tell about. The old and better saw they made back in the day was the old 77. It was a pretty good saw. Then they went to making them for guys who wear man buns and use hand lotion regularly... pathetic. You can can bulldog a Stihl in a log pile, you can't a plastic junk Husky.
