This is great advice for these saws. I enjoy all of the content you come up with. Would be neat to learn more about the mill and why they grade logs the way they do. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
I’m glad you like the channel. I’ve been thinking of talking a bit about logs and grades. But it’s a complex subject and I need to figure out the proper approach to a video like that.
Great Content, But You Missed one Screw that vibrates Loose, on the Air Injection Shroud from Fly Wheel To Carb, that screw come loose and jambs up your fly Wheel, Mine stripped the thread out I had to use a longer screw, more thread in the screw hole, 25mm long screw required.
I have a 390xp and you have got me a bit worried. Will be checking all the bolts out asap. Thanks for the heads up! As far as content goes...I am interested in all aspects of your operation. Keep up the great work!

I have not sourced the I like sushi bar you recommend. I walked by all my 300 series saws like I was walking in with a mistress. Thank you for the channel and effort. You are appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to show this was not aware of these issues make complete sence though I have 2 395 and they sit more then run but when i get them on the Alaskan mill I will go threw this first thanks again
Thanks for sharing. Good thing to know. If I ever buy a 395 I'll know to do that. Always in the timber if not droppin and toppin its got to be looked for and purchased. I think alot of what you mentioned would make good content. Go for it.
Great video!! Please tag me in it or do a video showing what you do for the carburetor if anything. Do you adjust the tuning on it or run it stock? Do you port anything. I’m looking for that type of content, I just bought my first real saws, a 395xp 36” bar and then a zenoah clone proyama pcs 68 with a 18” and 24” bars. I have nearly 4 acres heavily wooded and my neighbors have more than me, everyone here has 80%-98% wooded lots so lots and lots of trees to cut. Plus Hurricane Helene dropped a bunch of trees that need a cutting. I’d love some helpful tutorials like this and other content showing a newbie like me how to start off right.
He does great work, had him do my 550mk2 and 572. Interesting to see the numbers, did you by chance talk to him before doing the work? Interested to see if you had him port for torque gain or just didn't specify..
@@JoshNoss I had a brief conversation with him prior to shipping it. That saw is used strictly for bucking big boiler logs in X climate, with a 36" bar. I have him as specific details as I could, left the rest up to him. He was great to communicate with and I'm impressed with the performance gain. You know you've got ahold of something when you hit the throttle.
@@tyharland1906 I bet! Those 395s gain really well and can truly put out the torque if that's what they're ported for. He's gonna be getting my 592 in January and I'm thinking to have him shoot for more RPM and HP and not so much torque gain as I'll probably only run a 24" bar and 9-10 pin 3/8" sprocket.
Great video on how to improve longevity of a saw. Does the lock-tite application affect the warranty? I think it would be great to learn more about your business processes. How do you determine what you will bid for the timber? What are the things to look out for to ensure you're getting good value for your bids (don't overpay, can readily move your logs, how to cost the log removals, etc.) I'm a retired petroleum engineer and know that successful small business owners know a lot more about economics than some of us more specialized technical people might give them credit for (I know that successful small business owners end up with are a lot more wealth than us engineers that spent the better part of a decade in uni getting advanced degrees and working for major oil companies end up with, for example).
I don’t generally worry about warranties. As far as this business I can touch on generalizations but specifics I would have to keep to myself do to competition.
I put an aluminum Bradford built bed on my Super duty and I'll never not have an aluminum flatbed on my truck again. It just makes life so much easier as the whole bed is a giant work table that you can access from 3 sides not just the tailgate. I got the skirted bed with the built in storage lockers, they are great for ratchet strap and small stuff.
Thank you! I just bought a 395. Your knowledge and experience just helped a lot of us out. One quick question, my 395 is a leaker. I've run Stihls before this. Is it common for Husqvarna saws to leak bar oil? Any tips or ideas?
Thanks for the quick reply! I'll have to take a closer look. It literally showed up yesterday on UPS. 36 inch Husky bar. I saw it was slinging a lot of oil and the oiler adjustment didn't do much.
@festus1978 they do leave a wet mark on the floor often. I run my oilers all the way up. If there’s oil flinging off the chain then I would call it normal.
I got a 394 a couple months back that didn't run. Just got it running and started the break-in. Vibrated the muffler nuts and bracket bolts right out of the front. I'll be putting loctite on it soon 😅
@Good.Fellers Given how pricey OEM parts are, I probably lost $37 in 2 bolts and 1 nut in the mud. Ha! Still working out the tuning, but anxious to get it dialed in.

Ah, this is one of the reasons I picked up a 390 instead. I also bought a 592 recently, which is awesome, but I'm not convinced its better than the 395. What do you think? Would the 395 have been a better option?
@@Good.Fellers same. I had maybe 3 hours on it and one of the bar posts fell into the oil reservoir… I think it was mis-seated from the factory. I had heard that about the 395. It's odd because my 390 runs as smooth as silk but not the same power as 395. The 592 is smoother yet and has crazy power. I haven't found anything that will slow it down yet.
592 is the king when it comes to stock power, but ported? The 395 wins.. I just wish the 592 wasn't running a 12k limited coil, if it had a 13.5k coil you could get a LOT more power from them
@@JoshNossdo you ever watch Dyno Joe's channel? Every saw I've ever seen him put on the dyno starts falling on its face after about 9, 500-10K RPMs. Max hp is almost always around 9K - 9300K
@@Mr_Clean Funny you should say that because Dyno Joe has now built 3 saws for me over the years, Just look at some of the more "race" saw builds he's done and you'll see the peak is up a few thousand rpm more. @@Mr_Clean you have to realize too that his dyno isn't like a car dyno, his goes from high rpm and then gets pulled down to stall speed like would take place in a cut. So if you're starting from 14,000-15,000 instead of 12,000 you'll see that peak move up considerably.

O Machado e a Motosserra
Entraram junto no mato pra mostrar a serventia
A motosserra roncava machado velho tinia
E naquele matagal foi só cavaco de pau pó de serra que subia
E esse grande duelo deste jeito é que termina
Na briga das ferramentas o machado é que domina
Motosserra parou cedo ali no tronco da quina
Machado seguiu cortando mata grossa e mata fina
Motosserra impotente rebentou sua corrente acabou a gasolina
Sweet story!
Can we ask for a taste of all you do
Awesome I will keep the videos coming.
