It had been a while and having finished Berseria I thought I'd check these out for old time's sake, and hearing that 'Rangetsu-ryuu, Kawasemi!' took me aback. I had completely forgotten about that when I first started playing Berseria. To think something like that would generate a playable character, a major antagonist and a really interesting backstory element lol
Loved the exhibition, Omega!! I feel making shorter special moves is becoming more common place outside of fighters and I'm not a fan of that in that sense either. They are HI-OUGIS and SPECIAL MOVES and are meant to be long and pleasing to the eyes!!!
Yes, you did indeed hear "Rangetsu Ryū". And, since Rose uses twin daggers, we can asume that Rose either learned artes or is indeed descended from the Rangetsu Clan, as you said. I mean, Rose Rangetsu doesn't feel that out of place, and (a bit more of a stretch) in that case, she keeps the R in both first and last name, as Rokurou did. But that's just speculation and me rambling. XD
As Rose is an orphan, we have to look to her guardian Brad as the source of the Rangetsu style. Since the Windriders were mercenaries, he either learned it from manuscripts displaying Rangetsu, or from a teacher who had an encounter with Rokurou. As far as we're aware, the actual Rangetsu family line went extinct with Rokurou.
I'm surprised to see that Beast (Shishisenkou) is now a hi ougi. Then again, that was also what happened before when Indignation used to be a normal spell

Don't we all? I mean it's much more easier if we keep Mikleo and Rose Armatized cause they can attack from a safer distance. Rather than letting them charge in and get KO time and time again.

the ougi are so fast cant even really see whats going on especially the dual ougi XD, i dont mind it was this fast if is for the weaker ougis but i hope the final ougi can look more dramatic and longer making it more epic.

SpellMasterTsubasa That doesn't make much sense considering there are stronger versions of the attack. This is every bit as confusing as when they made Demon's Lance an MA in Xillia.
Not really confusing to me at least, cause I personally don't mind. Beast used by Heldalf is practically my favorite version of the arte now. What confuses me is Genis mystic arte being just Indignation in Dawn of The New World.
SpellMasterTsubasa To be fair it wasn't the first time they've had Indignation as both a spell and MA at the same time. Eternia did it first. Although I imagine in that specific case, it was to try and highlight how Genis had grown as a Mage; being able to beef up one of his spells to MA territory.
DreamSword Well, they have done that before. Satsugeki Bukouken (Final Fury), the most overused Hi Ougi in the series, started as a regular arte (base arte no less, a bit more complex to use than the rest though). Every now and then they just feel like doing glorified versions of normal attacks as Hi Ougis. I can see why they did it for Beast in this case though, it clearly is an arte that pretty much shows you what Heldarf is all about and the fact that Sorey learns it from a story segment rather than leveling up makes a lot more sense once you meet him.
Was this a decent Tales game for you? Kinda on the fence about this title. Love the Mystic Arte Exhibitions you do, Jade's blew my mind. :D Probably throw all my money at the Collector's Edition anyway. I liek my figurines. Thank you Omega for all that you do.

Wow. They really vary in quality. Sometimes the animations and spell effects look bad. Other times you can't tell.

I dont know how I feel about these supers. They are not bad but they seem lack luster in terms of making you feel powerful if that makes sense.
