@@carlosdgutierrez6570 Sure. Just as a quick explainer for those who may not know, a case study can pretty much be equated to "an in-depth example that can be used as a guide". Right, so on to the case studies. Across multiple classes of mine (security ethics and law, digital forensics, computer systems administration to name a few) a lot of the learning is done through case studies. And, across these multiple classes, Sony frequented the list of case studies along the likes of Target and Experian (two other companies famous for security breaches, think of it as a wall of shame). What makes it worse, though, is that for most each class that used case studies as learning material Sony's case study was a different one of it's breaches. We had one on Sony pictures which and how that relates to employee safety and personal identified information. We had one on one of the PSN ones and how that relates to negligence in protecting user data. One on how they could have handled communication towards affected consumers better. So-on, so-forth. While the exact specifics of how each happened are pretty technical, and as a result I will avoid talking about them as it would take a long time to explain, the bottom line is that Sony provided enough material for multiple classes to cover multiple different intrusions and to have minimal overlap between the instructional content. I should also state, in all fairness, they weren't in every class I had. They were just repeated over multiple as a sort of low hanging fruit. The biggest issue I have with this requirement, is that no cybersecurity system is ever foolproof. If someone wants in, they will get in. Cybersecurity is a matter of delaying the inevitable and preventing as much damage as possible, at least with current technology. Combine this with Sony's proven track record of a frankly alarming number of breaches, and... yeah. Hope that explains it well enough. Didn't feel like writing a novel.
I think pirate software worded it the best when he said: "They trained the playerbase to band together to fight bots, so they are now banding together to fight bots..." @@shoulderpyro To be fair to developers, if you've played longer than 2 hours after buying, or after third party accounts were required, and only THEN do you refund, you're abusing the system. I'd say that if a game suddenly requires third party accounts after you already bought it, you have two hours of game time to make a decision, regardless of _previous_ time playing prior to the changes. If you just bought a game that requires third party accounts, you have your two hours as usual. That way you can't abuse it, and games can't get mad about a system that can be abused.

You can't call it a "requirement", when it was possible to skip the linking process. What does this company think the word requirement means? It was optional. It was skipable. Sony has an earnings call coming up. This is why they want us to join. Lasly, they changed their PSN options on may 3rd. It was always optional and that was shown on the PlayStation website.
The funny thing is that Sony could have gotten his sweet, sweet new PN accounts without any negative backlash by offering something in exchange for linking your steam account to your PSN account, by offering super credits or a new exclusive armor and cape set, 80% would have jumped into the hype wagon immediately and the rest eventually, but noooooo, they had to hold the game hostage and force things upon people. Edit: I didn't mean that all, 100% of PC players would make the PSN account but Sony could have gotten a good chunk of all the total PC players to make the account if instead of issuing threats they issued bribes to the player base with free cosmetics or game currency. Its quite simple. They made the optional mandatory which is low and not very legal especially when there is an exchange of money involved. Then for the S and giggles lets assume we are willing to make an PSN account. You have to sign off/adhere to new TOS of PSN. If for some reason you dont agree with those rules you can refuse. But that also means you are entitled to a refund cause you didnt sign up to those rules when you bought said product and after a sale you cant alter a done deal. If someone takes them to court they can clear them out. However who is willing to pay a lawyer for a game that costs only 40bucks. Soyny knows this and they will get away with it unless steam steps in and starts giving refunds but im afraid thats not likely. After the news i uninstalled the game, gave it a bad review, asked a refund and explained why and questioned its legality. But this game is in my rearview mirror now. We had joy, we had fun but now i am done.
The solution to this is so simple: Just make the account linking optional and if you do link it, as a bonus you get cross progression. It just boggles my mind that Sony saw this game breaking all the boundaries of gaming, having people literally CLAMORING FOR XBOX CROSS PLAY, to be able to take back Malevelon Creek and they just throw it away like trash. All those Major Orders, all those campaigns, as if they meant nothing.
honestly that's probably exactly why they would want to make it mandatory, Sony would never want there biggest rival, Microsoft play with its player / enjoy the same game XD
@gH0uL Sony would never do this, like stylosa have said in the video, they would never do any sort of backtracking because all the higher ups just want to do is just maximize profits, increase sale margins and show the player counts of how many players that linked their steam account with psn and show how many players are playing their game from different platforms altogether in general.
So 1. They're GOING to offer some kind of workaround for people who bought the game that can't make PSN accounts in their countries. Otherwise they just open themselves to an avalanche of needless lawsuits they could have easily avoided. So 2. When the workaround/waiver for those users comes, it'll be interesting to hear the rationale behind not extending the same courtesy to other users. PSN will be required for some, but not others. Very interesting problem they've made for themselves.
Even though it was displayed on the steam page, there were other faqs saying it wasn’t needed. And even still, if it wasn’t enforced for months, word of mouth was that you didn’t need it. People bought the game under the assumption you don’t need a psn account. This is a rug pull.
And both somys site (until basically a few moments ago) and the game itself said it wasnt needed, when you launched the game for the first time it asked you to link it but made it clear it was optional and never said anything about a grace period
Either sony knowingly sold this game in countires that cannot set up a PSN account, or they are trying to force this requirement after the point of sale. Both are super illegal.

People have forgotten. This is not a AAA game. This is an indie game. There is no reason for external accounts required for an indie game. We're not giving into EA or Sony bullshit. We shouldn't have to. This is an extremely dangerous precedent.
It's an Indie Game in spirit, but they still get financial support from Sony as a publisher. A true indie game gets neither technical or financial support from a publisher, hence allowing for free reign. I am an Arrowhead fan, but Helldivers is an indie game just as much Dave the Diver is considered one (Both games I adore).
It's an industry standard precedent. It sucks but almost every game today published by a large company with its own account system of some kind requires you to register the game with that account. Especially if it's an online game. This is an indie game, sure, but it's still published by Sony, and corporations will always want a hand on their IP. Luckily in this case you really don't have to give them jack shit. Make a burner email account and let Sony have that. You never have to give them banking information or anything important. You could even give a fake name in the registration. Terd Ferguson's Helldiver account. People whining about their personal data security while using Facebook or TH-cam to complain about Sony are detracting from the real problem here, which is people in regions Sony won't allow to play having been sold the game in the first place. The only logical reason this game should have a PSN is if you want to continue your game data on either platforms NOT to restrict your access to play it. This should be optional!
Arrowhead is not innocent in this, they didn't make it clear we needed the PSN accounts and they allowed the game to be sold in regions it should not of been. At the end of the day they made a deal with the devil, and a contract holds both parties responsible equally.

"We don't have all the details about region related issues yet" Then why would they post something as damaging as that without having any information to present other than telling people they're being forced to create a PSN account.
Because Sony forced them too. This isn’t something Arrowhead wanted. That’s why their announcement was all formal and had nothing like the normal Super Earth twist to it. This is Arrowhead basically saying “Boss said to do this.”
I imagine sony basically rocked up to their hq and went "hey make this announcement right now, also get me a coffee, bye" and just kinda ghosted them the rest of the day
because they didn't. Sony said do it. And sadly if they did somehow manage to get out of this without Sony's premission, Sony may just up right get rid of the game on PlayStation. Actually, we as a community are probably bigger than sony so we can force them to keep it the same as before.
If they wanted to be able to ban players, wouldn't giving every player their own unique id number then have the server check whether this id has been banned or not to allow access to the game be a viable option? It will take up a little more space on the server end as well as a revamp of many matchmaking and server connection systems to be able to identify the players id's and such. However this will allow banning of id's within the server database. However if implemented incorrectly may result in false bans, mistaken bans, hacked servers being able to ban any player, and a possibility that server connection becomes worst
When I got the game, during the 2nd week after release, I remember the PSN link account screen popping up, saying something along the lines of it being required. Since I already had a PSN account, I had gone through the process of linking it, since it wasn't that different to me from being required to have a linked Blizzard account for playing Overwatch 2. But I will say this, the process of linking the PSN account was horrendous, with getting constant errors of linking the account on a web browser.
@@noyalsukhadev8516 I stopped paying for PS+ subscription since, around, 2018, and I haven't played on my PS4, for about 5 years. So, I can safely say that you don't need to pay any sort of Playstation subscription to play on PC, because they don't host servers for games on PC. Personally, I don't recommend anyone to play online games on consoles, because requiring to pay for online access is a ripoff, especially for Nintendo games, because their servers have always been unstable.

Maybe I am understanding something wrong, I just made a PSN account with my email, I do not own a playstation of any kind, what's the problem here exactly? Fifa does the same with origin, cyberpunk does the same, gta does the same.. am I missing something?
Sony has a track record of data breaches and security issues. your origin, FIFA, GTA example, you are told from the very beginning that you have to make an account of some sort. The problem now PSN is mandatory after not having to, they claim it's for security but ironically you may lose all your steam games and get your data sold
It's the gaslighting and blatant lying that gets me mad. They want it for added security? Gtfo. This is all about money, those greedy bastards. I'm fed up with big corp screwing over their customers. Fuck that.
There is absolutely nothing anyone can ever say to me to convince me that the Sony megacorp can't get Valve on the phone and say "Let's work on a pipeline." when needing access to "ban" people. Curiously three days after they got a patent for an AI spybot that monitors speech and gameplay to ban people for toxicity based on "biometric readings". For the people repeating "it said required on steam" blah blah. You can buy the game, log in, and start playing without ever seeing the banner. If you have the hardware to not need to read system requirements, you never scroll past the "purchase" button and it never appears again.
That’s like complaining about buying an electric car in a city with no chargers then complaining after a temporary battery pack runs out. “They let me buy the car without putting it in my face that chargers are required!”. I saw it, I have a psn account, and logged in.
@@mvpchae Well in this instance its more like buying an electric car in a city where you've seen other people drive electric cars and have never heard anyone talking about any problems. And then three months after you've been driving around, charging it no problem, the city removes all the charging stations.
I bought this game last week, didn't feel like I needed to read the store page because everyone just said the game ruled. This PSN nonsense is quite the jump scare.
Yeah a big problem is this came out of NOWHERE, to player's perception anyway-- this has probably been a known thing for a while, and Arrowhead are now required to enforce it. Sucks royally, besides being an inconvenient and F you decision to internationals who CAN'T use PSN because of region locks, but also because their supposed reasons for safety are BS lol They want inflated numbers of logins for their own network, they have no interest in Steam taking a chunk of their IP's playerbase, but now Arrowhead is going to take a lot of the flak because they're being the ones made to say it
I bought the game on launch and have over 200 hours in it, took me and my gf less than 2 minutes to hook up a psn account on launch and we forgot we ever did it because it was never brought up again or created any issues. Don't let some of the crazy people online dictate your thoughts its a great game and not going to change. @shmodzilla yeah they did it for the first game, did you play it? I didn't, didn't know it existed but people liked it and the studio treated their players well
It's on them for signing the contract. It's on them for disabling discussions. It's on them for their discord community managers responding hatefully to the players. It's on them for not bring upfront and clear about it. A little addendum in the T&C is not enough. Arrowhead made a bad deal with Sony and now they have to deal with the backlash of their anti-consumer practices. They made their cash and now they don't give a fuck if people stop playing. Game was good pre-patch but after all their tone-deaf nerfs people just needed an excuse to go do something else. Sucks because it felt like a nice AA studio was on the rise and had delivered an awesome product. We all got bamboozled.
@fp3977 Its for the best. At least, we have the Emperor has no clothes moment we needed. Arrowhead CEO just spreading his cheeks and saying “it is what it is” to Sony nuking his company’s goodwill is insane. He meticulously worded that slop to save face as he obviously knew it destroy his company’s reputation and there was nothing he can do. Well, he can go work in Soyny’s developer Coal mine until Soyny decides to can his game for not meeting Soyny’s growth numbers.
Yea for ArrowHead to have campaigned so hard on being a game that values the gamer, Values your dollar, and Values your time... This move by Sony is doing quite literally the opposite. I know ArrowHead has very little say in the matter - but this situation still makes them a hypocrite as they have fallen into this business practice.
I can just imagine arrowhead going to sony and being like “THIS WILL KILL OUR GAME! PLEASE! HALF OF THE PLAYERBASE WON’T BE ABLE TO PLAY! STOP ALTERING THE DEAL!” “and pray that I don’t alter it any further.”
If they don't roll this requirement back I'll be done with HD2. Hopefully Arrowhead will self publish HD3. The idea of linking my steam account to one of the most hacked game networks on the internet does not appeal to me in the slightest.
Lol. You shouldn't leave your credit card info on Steam either. I don't see what the big deal is at all... I linked my account when I first got the game. Anyone quitting HD2 over something like this probably has like 10 hours played anyway

They just did this the wrong way. They should have talked to ArrowHead and asked them to make a reward for account linking (new armour, cape and helmet in the PlayStation colours of blue and white with yellow detailing and a new primary/secondary weapon). Then pushed that for a few months whilst requiring new players to have a PSN account. Most of the playerbase would have linked an account for the rewards. Then at some point in the future, rather than banning people they make a PSN account required for online play and without it you have to play solo.
The main reason people are angry is because we have run around thinking about ammo ALL THE TIME... they wont let us enyoj the game.. The last patch was a disaster.. Come may 14 when season 4 in D4 comes out... you will see a lot of people leave Helldivers..
Sony threw arrowhead under the bus, so they could give steam users promotional emails that they don't want. But what they got, was review bombed to oblivion. They were breaking new ground in the pc gaming industry, but now have forever tarnished their reputation. I am sure even sony is regretting this move, but probably too proud of themselves to revert this decision. They are one of the most stubborn companies in the world, and not in a good way.
This is not about promotional emails but annual reports to their investors. Since issuing more and more region locks sony is on a pretty consistent decline and this is an attempt to force playerbase of a successful game to go through the registration process boosting the new user numbers .
You see, if this game was a PRODUCT and not a SERVICE, Sony couldn't pull this kind of stunt effectively allowing them to steal your money. By all means: keep telling me how good a LIVE SERVICE model is for your games. Totally worth all the content updates still knowing that, at any moment for any reason, the powers that be can YOINK it all away. Helldivers 2 is Live Service done right, after all.
Cool. So I finally caved and gave up on fighting the insane anticheat software and now I have another vulnerability to deal with. They should have announced the intended requirement of linking accounts in the game itself. Such bullshit.
I'm of the same mind. The anti-cheat weighed heavily in my decision but that looked to be the one big downside with the game. Great dev team, incredibly fun, very friendly community but there was a lot of agony to pull that trigger. This requirement, if properly enforced, might have changed things at the time of purchase. Technical issues be damned, they should have took this one on the chin at launch. I just see this now as a correction to what the game's population should have been. Maybe now will also be the start of a more "traditional" live service experience. Get ready for the nickle and diming.
Besides being inconvenient it has other problems like PSN having region locks, so a small chunk of the players right now that can play on Steam will just no longer be able to play once the PSN login is required at the end of this month. Sony didn't think ahead on this, blatantly, so now Arrowhead will take the brunt of the criticism (and atm has, their reviews are being tanked) and the sentiment of being blindsided/betrayed by their very freshly established playerbase. Some might even call it Undemocratic. Traitorous even. But yeah the tables can turn shockingly fast, I hope other developers can learn from this
And at some point Starship Troopers will return to grace =D You can also... Create new account, using "family sharing" function provide access to game from your main (no need to buy it on new one) and link new one. P.S. This comment keeps getting removed, so i hope this variant sticks.
Another thing also if you buy this game on steam you have to scroll down past the buy button to see the message that you have to have a psn account does not seem very transparent
Problem is with Sony where playstation acc only is available in 69 countries when steam have 200+ AND sony has poor security and data leaks are very common. Now think what people who bought the game on steam and have a regional blockade are supposed to do. Already some tried to make accounts using VPN then they got banned from the game.
I accept not to refund, if they use that money to give the CMs some time off or some psychological support xD On the other hand, other 3rd party studios on Steam "Forced" us to launch through their launchers to play games, which in itself is not the best experience, compared to HD2 right now "launch from steam, AntiCheat, into the ship". I might not have been bothered if i had to do it when i bought it and used it at first, either. Also... is it the first Sony published game requiring a PSN link to Steam ?
@@dzer3 No, I don’t think that’s the reason, could be something to do with how bad their cybersecurity is from the looks of things. Funny thing is, you’d think for a multibillion dollar corporation like Sony, that their cybersecurity would at least be top notch and a high priority. But… I guess… not? 🤷♂️
Sony may of pushed for this to go live, but frankly Arrowhead failed the Steam community by not communicating this outright. A banner should of been on their Discord and in-game, as well as on the Steam page with something like "While inactive now, a PSN account will be required in the future, plan accordingly" (or prepare to loose your game, if you are in 110 or so countries without PSN.....). AH should of been pushing this weekly since release if it was in their contract with the Publisher and knew it was coming down. If not reversed by June 3rd, well good luck on those Steam numbers...

Brother, it says on the steam page that a psn account is required. I don't get how people are so surprised about this. Hell, when you first start up the game, it asks you to create a psn account.
Buddy if they wanted to make the PSN a clear requirement, shouldn’t have allowed people to skip. Plus in their Eula/TOS for PlayStation it is not required to have a PSN account to play PlayStation games on your PC, they are breaking their own TOS, also there are people they sold the game too, who will not be able to play anymore when the deadline hits because their country doesn’t legally offer PSN
They never cared about anyone on steam... So not surprised, this dev team was garbage to begin with, people just where blind worshipping them all the time.
Yeah, that CM needs to resign. Anyone, in any job, is understandably susceptible to frustration or bad days... but the number one JOB of a CM is literally not to vent it to the community. That's literally the most basic aspect of doing CM work. It's a "Smile whether you feel like it or not" job, like many, many other jobs in the world.
Cm is great he tells every one how it is and makes it clear that they are not able to change this and how people need to express their concerns to be noticed. Also he takes no bs from people spamming and whining about it over and over and over. He called one guy out in discord for spamming he was refunding and leaving and then he did the same thing like half an hour later so the CM called him out on it and people were upset at the CM..... CM is great tbh. Call out childish stuff like that act like an adult not throw a tantrum and spam up a discord ruining the community space. People seem to think CMs are meant to be placid smiley yes men to the community .... No they are meant to manage the community and that includes telling people hard truths even if they don't want to hear it . That's the reality of the situation and people are screaming bad CM when he is telling you how it is no bs.
@@TheIntronD Pretty well constructed counter argument. Perhaps we're talking about different people. Someone at Arrowhead said "it only takes 120 seconds to make a PSN account, don't be lazy" (paraphrased, fairly). That's the only person at arrowhead I have a problem with.
The game always had a PSN requirement. It was listed on the store page from way before release even. So lots of people are just being crybabies who apparently don't read details before purchasing games. The legitimate issue here is that they sold the game in many countries where people can't make PSN accounts, and that's just ridiculous.
8:34 the link the CEO posted actually went to a page that said PSN accounts are optional on Playstation games played on PC, until Sony realised what he'd done and edited it. Also I may not want a PSN account, but I definitely don't want to link any account directly to my Steam account.
I think they were hoping the success of the game would encourage Sony to drop the requirement, and maybe in the wave they got caught up in everything and forgot until the piper came'a callin'. The way they've been with the community so far, they're clearly not anticommunity. Just my guess though.
@@Tamachii12 there's no gaslighting. His point is "bitching on the discord and yelling at the devs isn't going to change this. If the community doesn't want this, direct your vitriol at Sony who imposed this" And he's right. Us being mad at Arrowhead changes nothing. They're they have to bend the knee. It's Sony that has to come around and change their mind. And us screaming and flooding the discord isn't going to fix anything. If Arrowhead wanted to fk us, they would have made the warbonds 100% cost money, and not put the currency in common drops throughout maps. Or worse, they'd make them loot boxes. I'll bet they fought Sony tooth and nail to be allowed to make it the way they did.
I have a Masters degree in Cybersecurity and Sony was literally one of the case studies on what not to do.
Tell us the story, papa anon
Care to elaborate and teach us more about this?

Its quite simple. They made the optional mandatory which is low and not very legal especially when there is an exchange of money involved.

@@GLVSCOW Sony funds a lot of indie games...
It's an industry standard precedent. It sucks but almost every game today published by a large company with its own account system of some kind requires you to register the game with that account. Especially if it's an online game. This is an indie game, sure, but it's still published by Sony, and corporations will always want a hand on their IP. 64% or more than half the countries on this planet cannot make PSN and forcing them to have a PSN to play is clearly a problem. Making a PSN under a different country from where you live in is against Sony TOS. You'll get perma banned.

Asking us to link to PSN for security?
PSN is hacked almost every year. It's one of the least secure companies to give your data too.
PSN’s security is even worse than Wells Fargo’s…
No no, it's security from other players, who may inadvertently hurt your feelings at some point.
So let Sony ban them (so they have to re-buy), and they can data-harvest. Meanwhile angry consumers hack Sony about as often as the cookie monster eats cookies ...and as a result you'll probably lose your PNS account, and have to rebuy anyway. But in the process, there may be 'some' security risk presented to your steam account.
"We don't have all the details about region related issues yet" Then why would they post something as damaging as that without having any information to present other than telling people they're being forced to create a PSN account.
This admission will be legally troubling for them.
They didn’t, Sony posted that and the devs have to deal with the fallout
If they wanted to be able to ban players, wouldn't giving every player their own unique id number then have the server check whether this id has been banned or not to allow access to the game be a viable option? It will take up a little more space on the server end as well as a revamp of many matchmaking and server connection systems to be able to identify the players id's and such.
However this will allow banning of id's within the server database. However if implemented incorrectly may result in false bans, mistaken bans, hacked servers being able to ban any player, and a possibility that server connection becomes worst
This is really just the last straw for some people. Having to make an a seperate account or launcher for every game is getting ridiculous

They probably couldn’t use hours on the Super Citizen DLC as I had a legitimate gripe on that: I had already bought the Steel Warriors Warbond with super credits before getting the Super Citizen, and I sort of thought I would just get Super Credits instead. Nope it just didn’t give me anything.
Do people even get reported or banned in HD2? I feel like when i run into trolls i either just leave or mute them and go on with my day. What a bad front.
We're all BEYOND tired of these greedy fucking companies and their CEO's.
Maybe I am understanding something wrong, I just made a PSN account with my email, I do not own a playstation of any kind, what's the problem here exactly? Fifa does the same with origin, cyberpunk does the same, gta does the same.. am I missing something?
PSN isn't available in roughly 190 countries, and if u use a VPN that's against their TOS. Also SONY gets data breached multiple times a year.
@@Capedkarnage190 is cap its around like 125 countries but yeah the data breaching and the whole situation is just another bad look for sony fr
The speech thing is 100% my issue with this whole situation.
When you finally understand that Valve is just as bad as all the others....
@@Damaged7They arent. Sadly they are one of the last great companies since Gaben never bent the knee to bs
This will blow over in less than 2 weeks and 100 people that can't hold a job stopped playing so it's a win for us at that point.
@@20marzboy Forgot about all of the other people in other countries who cannot make psn accounts. If they do get a fix for them other than refunding, then they should have kept this under their hat until they had that.
This is where i laugh, you see the meatheads "who cares your fools the player base probably wonrt eeven drop" Yup, and it will never grow now. You think theyre going to add tons of new content and such for a game that has no future?
@fp3977
Its for the best.
I can just imagine arrowhead going to sony and being like
“THIS WILL KILL OUR GAME! PLEASE! HALF OF THE PLAYERBASE WON’T BE ABLE TO PLAY! STOP ALTERING THE DEAL!”
“and pray that I don’t alter it any further.”

This sorry was more genuine than I've seen from other companies. I guess Sony really did force their hand. Not that it changes the situation though.
@@user-ne2zx3nd2k its probably both tbh lol

We need another Silverhand & V duo i think
Sony have had so many major security issues and data breaches its insane to think people would even consider creating a PSN account.
The review bombing is faster than the liberation of Tien Kwan.
I mean the CM basically challenged people who are trained to drop bombs as quick as possible to leave negative review.

You know damn well Sony didn’t send one email to Valve to work on a more streamlined banning system. This is corporate greed at its finest
Another thing also if you buy this game on steam you have to scroll down past the buy button to see the message that you have to have a psn account does not seem very transparent
sony is also adding a auto ban feature to psn as well which is another issue
Using predictive AI to ban someone. I wonder if the ai will be checking you social accounts and emails and discord.
This is rough lads.

Not really. Far as i see anyone not willing to cooperate is a traitor and treasonous
Problem is with Sony where playstation acc only is available in 69 countries when steam have 200+ AND sony has poor security and data leaks are very common. Now think what people who bought the game on steam and have a regional blockade are supposed to do. Already some tried to make accounts using VPN then they got banned from the game.
I accept not to refund, if they use that money to give the CMs some time off or some psychological support xD
On the other hand, other 3rd party studios on Steam "Forced" us to launch through their launchers to play games, which in itself is not the best experience, compared to HD2 right now "launch from steam, AntiCheat, into the ship". I might not have been bothered if i had to do it when i bought it and used it at first, either. Also... is it the first Sony published game requiring a PSN link to Steam ?
Screw Sony. I have 77 million reasons why.
Ah, I get it, because 77 million players were hacked right?

No, I don’t think that’s the reason, could be something to do with how bad their cybersecurity is from the looks of things.
Yeah im tired of developers and such acting like we all have a lawyer around to verify everything so we can not get screwed just trying to play a frikkin video game.
Dev speaks more respectful like a "Community Manager" more than their currently Hired Community Manager
Yup, and you can bet people archived the before and after of that page so the class action can use that.
I think they were hoping the success of the game would encourage Sony to drop the requirement, and maybe in the wave they got caught up in everything and forgot until the piper came'a callin'. The way they've been with the community so far, they're clearly not anticommunity. Just my guess though.
The way the AH CM gaslighted people and they started releasing some contradicting statements is making me doubt them now.
@@Tamachii12 there's no gaslighting. His point is "bitching on the discord and yelling at the devs isn't going to change this. If the community doesn't want this, direct your vitriol at Sony who imposed this"
And he's right.
