Very impressive setup! Especially the cleverly designed equipment cabinet on casters and the folding screen. I see you have a IR blaster in each shelf. How do you connect all of them to the Harmony Hub? 2. Your subs are on a stage. Doesn't that stage vibrate with the bass heavy content? 3. How much space does you screen wall take from the finished wall behind it? 4. Do you use Audyssey to manage the bass? or just tweaks subs by their apps? Again, congratulations on the amazing HT room!

LaScalas have more detailed top end due to the refined tweeter in the RF7 III. Midrange is far superb in the LaScalas. Bass is much lower with the RF7 III but the bass the LaScalas does produce is super low distortion and clean.
Great job. I want to ask the settings of your Epson of the time that video made. I have the Epson and i can't make these colours. Any advise or settings to fix this?
Youthman one question, why not DIY subs over pb16 ? Some says they way beter that pb16 and way cheeper, with Dayton driver for exemple 18". I dont think is posible to build sub beter that pb16 for less than half Price, im right ? What you think ?
The screen setup is brilliant, and it's a very good idea that the speakers are behind that. However, I have two questions: aren't the front speakers placed too high compared to the seats? And the second one, doesn't the screen visibly shake, especially at scenes with a lot of bass? (And a third one: don't the drawers and their content audibly shake?)
Great Questions. 1. The front speakers are angles down with the tweeters aimed at my listening position. 2. I made a video answering that specific question - th-cam.com/video/ftEuS3sMq2U/w-d-xo.html The cabinet is EXTREMELY solid. The drawers do not vibrate at all. I do have some resonances in the top decorative part where there are thinner sections of wood.
Youthman i need advice. Im installing my first home theater with klipsch speakers. What size wire should I use?? Please help me im going crazy trying to figure out what to use??????
I recently bought a new house that has an amazing basement area that's perfect for a home theatre area, and I found you looking for recommendations! :) Awesome content! *PLUS I'M KINDA JEALOUS OF YOUR SET UP!*
Congrats, on your updates. have you thought about adding isolation absorbers/pads to your subwoofers. That would help with the wall vibrations I believe. Also, to make things more smart look into motorized lifts for your screen that work with Alexa. Good Luck. PM
Hi Youthman. Just wondering if you can help me with few doubts in my mind? I have bought these items so far: Klipsch R-820F Floorstanding Speakers Klipsch R-52C Center Speaker Klipsch R-51M Surrond Speakers x 4 SVS PB4000 subwoofers x 2 Polk Audio RC80i ceiling Atmos speakers x 2 Yamaha RX-V3085 receiver Benq TK800M 4K projector Elite Screens ELECTRIC125H motorized screen My room size is 4.3m wide and 5.0m long with 2.7m high ceilings. Do you think my room size is ok for these items? I haven't done any setup yet. You mentioned in your video that your room size is 13feet x 19feet, is this from screen to back wall 19 feet? Or including back cabinet space? I am under the assumption that my room is bit small for the setup that I already purchased.
Hey Youthman have you ever heard of a company called GoldenEar? I'd be very interested in seeing what you think of their GoldenEar Triton One tower speakers? I'm thinking of upgrading to a pair of those. They do have a higher spec tower speaker called the GoldenEar Triton Reference but its out of my price range at $4500 a speaker. Would you be willing to contact them and ask if they can give you a review sample?
That theater room looks better than some of the theaters I've been in. I've been dreaming about this since I was a kid and will probably never have it. If I had half of the size and budget of your theater I'd be so happy!
I never thought I would have a theater either. I always assumed they were for rich people. I’m not rich, in fact, I have zero out of pocket in my entire theater room
@@Youthman Wow, thanks for replying! My room is too small even for a 5.1 system and I have 20 more years left to pay for that mortgage. But like you said - you never know what will happen. Man, cars, electronics and guitars are such expensive hobbies!
Awesome set up, quick question I have an old Sony dav-hdx589w I'm thinking of dismantling my L,C,R speakers and making my own soundbar with them but keeping them connected separately as L, C, R. You ever heard of anyone doing that or do you think it would be ok? I new to all this and I really like sound these speakers produce but dont have the space to mount them separately
Do you have any problems with rattling youthman? I have a 10x10 room with 2 svs sb-1000 and when i level match them with my speakers i hear unknown objects rattling. I have chcked if it’s the subwoofer and it isn’t. If you ever had how did you stop it?
Where do you get that extruded aluminum (at 5:15)? I've been looking, and everyone looks at me like I should go back in time and invent it, like in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Yep u inspired me to search for lascala's as my front stage in my home theater. Now I have 2 1977 LaScalas and 1 1978 LaScala. Bro your setup is badass. 👍👌.
I am using 5.1.2. I have to upgrade it like today after watching your setup. Yours is just awesome. I got Klipsch PRO 16 RC for ceiling. Is it good enough or go for CDT 5650 when I upgrade
Hey Boss, where did you get or order those gas shocks for the screen? I will be putting in a 160 possibly bigger screen and would love to have similar access! Thanks in advance!
If something happened with your Klipsch La Scalas if they blew etc. what do you think would be your replacements?? Perhaps Klipsch RF-7 III’s & RC-64 III? How well do ya think those would stack up against your La Scalas if at all haha...
That is a great question. Unfortunately my RF7 III would be too tall behind my screen since the platform is 3’ off the ground. I want to hear the new JTR 2020 Noesis 210RM. Dual 10” drivers, MTM configuration with a massive horn looks incredibly interesting to me.
Hello Youthman! Nice build out of the room! Couple of questions, behind the screen what is the depth of the space for the speakers, from back of screen to back wall behind the front speakers? What is the distance from the front of the screen, to your first row of seats? Lastly, if you could rebuild your theater to any workable space within a home setting, what size would be the best for the equipment you now have? Ceiling height, length and width of your dream theater. I’m asking for this information to help me with designing my own home theater. Thanks, John
Thank you kindly John. The space behind the cabinet is approx 4 foot. I wanted plenty of space for any size speakers. My eyes are 9’ from the screen. Ideal room for me would be a few feet wider 15’ or so and definitely deeper so my rear surrounds would be further from the back row. Maybe 25’ deep? I’m perfectly fine with 10’ ceilings.
That's a sweet room! Do you need all those subs, or you just want it like that? I got 2 subs, and if I turn it up, the neighbors would be shook to death! Lol
I would like to ask a question .. I have seen several constructions with the baffle walls system .. Does this not seem to me to be there? Why? I ask because I should update my cinema room and I honestly don't know how to move
Get an Xbox One X. It's better then an UHD blue ray played cause you get not only 4k gaming with hdr, Dolby vision, and Dolby atmos, it's also a 4k blu ray player with the same features. More for less. It's a waste of money to buy a 4k player
@@dyeace You get a 4k blu ray player with the Xbox One X but more for the same price as it also functions as a cable box and videogame console. Why spend the same amount for less features?
I love your home theater set up! Can you tell me between the Denon x8500 vs Marantz 8012 which one you will go for? Is there any big difference and which is beter for Klipsch speaker. Thanks.
Thank you. I did a review on the Deon 6400 and the Marantz 8012. Both sound great but I chose the 8012 for my setup as it has a large teroidal transformer which is beneficial to me since I am not using an external amplifier. Marantz supposably has better components so I’m hoping it will last longer
@@Youthman I suggest reading some of Dr. Toole's white papers. They used to be on the Harmon Kardon site. "His and Her Room" Audio Video Interiors and Home Theater Magazine 2007.
I’ve read some of his documents. Reality is we all have to work with the limitations we have and make the best of them. when we bought the home, the room was an empty “media room”
Cabinet is completely open in front and back so there is plenty of ventilation. Might look at a AC Infinity fan to reduce the heat from the Marantz though
Hi buddy you no how you’re speakers are behind the screen in a tight space behind do you think that changes the speakers sound at all because you basically have boxed speakers inside of another box thanks
It’s very possible. I currently have acoustic panels behind the speakers and would eventually like to make it a baffle wall with insulation behind the screen. My space is limited with a 13’ x 19’ room so this is the best solution for my space.
@@Youthman I also have limited space and don’t really want to sell my current speakers for in wall alternatives I am also going to acoustically treat the whole area behind and around my speakers I can’t see it changing the characteristics of the speakers to much that I would even notice it thanks for the advice love the channel I am from England most the houses here are tiny thanks again
Yes, I think the best approach would be to add acoustic treatment all around your speakers. There really is no purpose for having any reflections on that front wall. I just haven’t gotten there yet myself.
I got it in for review in early August. Looks like you have a lot of videos to catch up on 😂 th-cam.com/video/C6lXTkL7gbs/w-d-xo.html Full Review should be coming out next week.
Unfortunately I do not, my friend built the entire cabinet. I’m not sure where he found the three pieces of extruded aluminum. He only paid $12 for each piece.
Michael, thanks for the reply. Is there any way you think you can find out what that type of aluminum is used for? Is it used for doors Or windows Just trying to get my hands some would like to duplicate your screen
Are you to get live TV?? GREAT SETUP....I didn't think my man cave was big enough for a theater setup but after hearing your measurement I will be getting started...
Hi I'm confused about imax enhanced with movies like the dark knight trilogy they have enhanced scenes how is this going to work with this new format? I ask Rav but I didn't get his answer.
In order to fill my 2.35:1 screen, I zoom in until the image fills the screens. The top and bottom grey bars are now above and below my screen (which you cant see) So during IMAX scenes like in the Dark Knight, the image extends above and below the screen. As I mentioned in FAF’s video, I personally am not excited about IMAX Enhanced. I get excited when the menu begins in 16:9 and the movie starts and The image begins to fill my 12.5’ Wide 150” screen! That’s what excites me. LOL. You can see how the “Lens Memory” works to allow me to easily switch between 16:9 and 2.35:1 content - th-cam.com/video/8WCk1PqZ4HQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi youndman after watch your video I decided to upgrade my home theater from bose to klipsch 5.1 here is what I got---- floor speakers R620F Center : R34C Rear: R51M Sub: R120SW. For about 300 sqf room. Do you think thats goog enough? Any ideas? Thanks
Hi Youthman. What material is your A/T screen made of and what’s ur take on sound dampening and sound distortion with behind screen speaker placements. Also,is the picture qualify on the A/T screens good enough for true 4K projectors in terms of gain/reflectivity and colour accuracy. Thanks in advance.
Seymour Center Stage XD, designed time work with 4K, looks and sounds great. With AT screens, you get a slight attenuation of the top end frequencies but Audyssey easily corrects this during calibration

Hi @youthman great video and incredible theater build! I'm aiming to build mine in similar dimensions. just wondering, does the 19' length include the cavity space behind the screen and cabinet? what sub cable would you recommend for your svs units? thanks!
Yes my room unfinished is 13’ x 19’. The cabinet is close to 4’ deep. I’m not one for fancy cables. I would recommend looking for some on amazon that have great reviews
I'm curious what is your viewing distance from front row to screen? I'm at 10' and am a little worried I'll see the weave of the Seymour centerstage XD material.
Is the depth you mentioned for your room dimensions to the front of your screen or to the wall behind your equipment and screen? I have a similar sized space, so trying to get a feel for the final results.
@@Youthman Wow, that's impressive! Don't think there are too many people that have done more with less. You are definitely good inspiration for most of us that don't have 20,000 sq/ft homes, but still want an enjoyable theater experience.
Good morning, love all your videos. Was looking for a way to contact you. Question, when you ran la scallas behind your screen at your home. What did you use for surround sound. Also if there is a better way to ask questions please let me know. Thanks.
I want to get a home theater audio set up I like Klipsch and Polk but I am having trouble deciding what I should buy first. Do I need a center channel to start with or can I skip it? I hear it is very important. I would like to get a receiver, Klipsch r-115sw subwoofer, 2 Klipsch RP-280F, and a Klipsch RP-450C Center Channel. but my budget as of right now is around $1200ish recommendations would be greatly appreciated I want to piece together a great system over time and don't want to get anything crappy. I have a big bonus room to work with so space is not a real concern.
Hey Sam. In my opinion, I would lean towards Klipsch. My first system was a nice Polk Setup. I had it for many years and enjoyed it. One day I bought a small system for $200 that included a Velodyne sub with Klipsch CF-2 speakers. I was only interested in the subwoofer and thought I could sell the Klipsch speakers to pay for the sub. It didn’t take me long to realize how much I was missing in the area of detail, and dynamics. I quickly sold the Polk and have since owned a ton of Klipsch speakers. I think you’ve got a great plan mapped out. I would buy your front speakers first, then the sub, then your center channel, then your surrounds.
Jane typically depends on your room. If your room has ambient light, you might want to use a higher game to compensate. The same thing when using an acoustic transparent screen since you lose some light output
@@Youthman thanks for the reply. Your input helps. And I guess the bidirectional should not be exactly to the side of the seating area. Either in front or behind or am I mistaken ? Thanks again
Can you please tell me your watching distance for both row of seats? I am planning to have a 150 inch screen for 4k video but my screen to seat length is only 12 ft and I am not sure if the distance is too short for such a big screen
Awesome HT! How far away from the screen is your main seat? Looks kinda close for 150” screen. Have you followed any recommendations of the distance from the screen (e.g. 40 degrees, x1.5 of the screen height, etc.)? I’m planning to build my new house and now have a “headache” planning my HT room...
My eyes are 9’ from 150” in 2.35:1 format. The calculators all said smaller but for me, it’s perfect immersion without being too close or overwhelming. I knew I could always mask down the screen size if I felt it was too big.
Thansks Youthman, great idea, I am building sometihing same to get the biggest size screen I can install in 12.5 w x 29 L x 10 H room. With subwoofers on the back, does your screeen rattle as subs move the air? That is my only fear to put subwoofers behinds screen. Please provide your input so we can finish the design .. will share pictures soon :)
@@Youthman I guess when it comes down to it...it's what feels comfortable to YOU (home owner). I just Googled "best recommended view distance measurements". Found out the MPAA recommends an angle of 30-degrees While THX says 40-degrees. As long we we can sit in front of the screen and the screen width is in our field of view...not requiring us to turn our heads left or right to follow or to be able to see the whole image we're good. www.projectorscreen.com/projector-screen-calculators
You’ll find those calculations recommend really small images at 9’ but I can attest a 103” screen was not in the least bit immersive. I certainly would not go above 150” in my room but feel it’s completely immersive without being too big.

Youthman one question, why not DIY subs over pb16 ? Some says they way beter that pb16 and way cheeper, with Dayton driver for exemple 18". I dont think is posible to build sub beter that pb16 for less than half Price, im right ? What you think ?
It's easy to see that you take pride in your theater. As well you should. Enjoy.
Thanks bm. Yes, I really love how it has turned out.
2. I made a video answering that specific question - th-cam.com/video/ftEuS3sMq2U/w-d-xo.html
The cabinet is EXTREMELY solid. The drawers do not vibrate at all. I do have some resonances in the top decorative part where there are thinner sections of wood.
Dude your setup is awesome! Love the lights behind the screen - reminds me of going to IMAX when I was a kid.
Thanks!
yea,, blue lights are awesome and those 3 lights just right above the screen...great...excellent.
Thanks.

Thank you. Hope the channel helps during your home Theater journey
Do you have soundproofing? Anything like room in a room or hat channel?
Home is insulated very well. Acoustic treatment but no sound proofing
Congrats, on your updates. have you thought about adding isolation absorbers/pads to your subwoofers. That would help with the wall vibrations I believe. Also, to make things more smart look into motorized lifts for your screen that work with Alexa.
Good Luck.

Hi Youthman. Just wondering if you can help me with few doubts in my mind? I have bought these items so far:
Klipsch R-820F Floorstanding Speakers
Klipsch R-52C Center Speaker
Klipsch R-51M Surrond Speakers x 4
SVS PB4000 subwoofers x 2
Polk Audio RC80i ceiling Atmos speakers x 2
Yamaha RX-V3085 receiver
Benq TK800M 4K projector
Elite Screens ELECTRIC125H motorized screen
My room size is 4.3m wide and 5.0m long with 2.7m high ceilings.
Hey Kevin. A few guys in the Youthman Community have recommended them but I personally have not heard them before. I can reach out to them.

Man your set up looks legit! 👍

I have not heard of someone building their own soundbar but then again, I have yet to hear a soundbar that I liked.
I love all the tech but damn I'm loving the wood carving more dude you got good taste IMO.
Do you have any problems with rattling youthman? I have a 10x10 room with 2 svs sb-1000 and when i level match them with my speakers i hear unknown objects rattling. I have chcked if it’s the subwoofer and it isn’t. If you ever had how did you stop it?
I have a hitachi cp-wx4021N projector and it’s 4,000 lumens.
Where do you get that extruded aluminum (at 5:15)? I've been looking, and everyone looks at me like I should go back in time and invent it, like in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Lol
I am only using Dual PB16’s. I bought the Klipsch KW-120 with KA-1000 amp but found it isn’t needed so I have it for sale.
I love the idea of mounting the projector behind the wall. How did you make sure it is vented properly as the vent are on the front of the Epson 5050?
It’s inside a closet with 3’ of open space above it, 4’ to the sides and 1’ under it. Plenty of ventilation
A very well detailed walk through.👍🏾 Some how I thought you had Oppo Blu-ray player though.😂
OPPO was Techno Dads. I was just borrowing it. Check out this video - th-cam.com/video/DNOXvEtjLBs/w-d-xo.html
I would like to ask a question .. I have seen several constructions with the baffle walls system .. Does this not seem to me to be there? Why? I ask because I should update my cinema room and I honestly don't know how to move
Mine is more of a custom cabinet than a false wall.
@@Youthman Thanks to the immediate response
Get an Xbox One X. It's better then an UHD blue ray played cause you get not only 4k gaming with hdr, Dolby vision, and Dolby atmos, it's also a 4k blu ray player with the same features. More for less. It's a waste of money to buy a 4k player
Andrew Wallace ew wtf
His player is better.
@@sogron007 care to explain how?
Sorry kid but using a Xbox? Are you joking? Cheap man eyes can’t tell the difference I guess..
That is a terrible room for audio. The back seats are against the wall and the center seats are in the null.
The room is certainly not perfect but I’m sure yours is. 😉. Regardless, we will continue to enjoy watching movies. Sounds pretty incredible.
Thanks!
Hater
@youthman You mentioned your theatre is 13x19. Is that including the space behind the screen or not? How big is that space?
That is the full length of the room. The space behind the cabinet is 3-4’ depending on where you measure from
Here is an updated room tour th-cam.com/video/PBuHLgGkfV4/w-d-xo.html
What’s the setup for ventilation and heat management for the PS4 and receiver boxes?
Do you ever find the Klipsch speakers to be a bit too bright or ear-fatiguing at higher volumes?
No, only the original RF7’s. With each version they made improvements in the top end.
I am blown away by this set up
Thank you

Hey, Michael, I was just wondering. Do you have any information on where you purchase the aluminum for your frame?
Unfortunately I do not, my friend built the entire cabinet. I’m not sure where he found the three pieces of extruded aluminum. He only paid $12 for each piece.
Michael, thanks for the reply. Is there any way you think you can find out what that type of aluminum is used for? Is it used for doors Or windows
Just trying to get my hands some would like to duplicate your screen
Are you to get live TV?? GREAT SETUP....I didn't think my man cave was big enough for a theater setup but after hearing your measurement I will be getting started...
You can do it!
Hi I'm confused about imax enhanced with movies like the dark knight trilogy they have enhanced scenes how is this going to work with this new format? I ask Rav but I didn't get his answer.
In order to fill my 2.35:1 screen, I zoom in until the image fills the screens. The top and bottom grey bars are now above and below my screen (which you cant see)
So during IMAX scenes like in the Dark Knight, the image extends above and below the screen.
Any ideas? Thanks
Awesome but just one question
How do the glass windows / doors bear that sound and stay intact 🤣🤣
They don’t. I have to replace them about every six weeks. 😳

Will you upgrade your system in future ?

big speakers and especially woofers move air. doenst the screen wobble or flutter when the speakers are turned up loud enough?
I get asked that question a lot and made a dedicated video answering it th-cam.com/video/VtLw9a1ey6s/w-d-xo.html
Is the depth you mentioned for your room dimensions to the front of your screen or to the wall behind your equipment and screen? I have a similar sized space, so trying to get a feel for the final results.
19’ is the length of my entire room
@@Youthman Wow, that's impressive! Don't think there are too many people that have done more with less. You are definitely good inspiration for most of us that don't have 20,000 sq/ft homes, but still want an enjoyable theater experience.
Thanks Doug. I want people to know you can have a theater in just about any size space. We all have limitations we have to work within
So more effective base with 2 svs than 4 rsw15? My rsw15 might need repaired. Also you just received 2 r115w klipsch how they rate?
Youthman thanks for the advice it means a lot. I will follow your suggestion and go klipsch
Hey man! great videos and information of this hobby, Can you share how do you install the screen fabric to the aluminum profile??
Hey Youthman, do you have any videos or pics on how-to attach gas shocks to left/right of screen and what should be done on the top/bottom section
Hey - Loving the videos! Just wondering what would be the best fixed screen projector to get for the JVC RS2000? What gain should I go for?
Jane typically depends on your room. If your room has ambient light, you might want to use a higher game to compensate. The same thing when using an acoustic transparent screen since you lose some light output
I'm in the process of getting my surround speakers. Im not sure if I should get bidirectional or straight firing side speakers. Thanks
Honestly it’s a matter of preference for surrounds. You just don’t want to use Wide dispersion speakers for your Atmos speakers
@@Youthman thanks for the reply. Your input helps. And I guess the bidirectional should not be exactly to the side of the seating area. Either in front or behind or am I mistaken ? Thanks again
Typically you want them anywhere from 90degrees to 110 degrees so they would be directly beside you. Mine are in between my front and rear rows
Can you please tell me your watching distance for both row of seats? I am planning to have a 150 inch screen for 4k video but my screen to seat length is only 12 ft and I am not sure if the distance is too short for such a big screen
Front row is 9’ from 150” diagonal 2.35:1 screen.
Rear seats are 14’
I absolutely LOVE my 150” screen.
hey youthman what are you using on your wall unit to pull out the center to get behind it..?..make and maybe where to get it....great setup
The bottom cabinet is on industrial rails that will support up to 500lbs. I didn’t build it so I’m not sure where they were purchased
@@Youthman ok thank you
I knew I could always mask down the screen size if I felt it was too big.
hey youthman, where did you get your home theatre room sign from? i've searched and i cant find this type of sign to buy anywhere online.
Morning to say we purchased it at a local store called Kirklands
But this was probably 13 years ago
What are people using for insulation inside of seat risers? I've seen so many different options, I'm not sure what to use.

Youthman Thanks, picking the same screen :) very informative video, kudos!!!
Hey Michael...Curious. What is the LxW of you 150" screen in feet? And how far away is the 1st row?
The actual image size is 138” x 59” and my eyes are 9’ from the screen
Youthman, you are the man. Excellent Home theatre with a phenomenal Klipsch speaker system. Very impressive.
