You have come a long way grasshopper from the pics you showed of your original theater room. I have approximately the same dimensions for a dedicated theater I am building. A lot of your well thought out design is being incorporated in mine. Going with the 150”transparent screen, aluminum frame on shocks & slide out component cabinet. Your DYI ideas are brilliant. I am glad I am putting the extra time in to do it right even though it will take longer to complete. Thanks for your videos.
Thank you kindly, Gary. I wish I could take credit for those ideas, but a good friend of mine made the recommendations and help me with the process. Having easy access behind my screen and easy access behind my equipment was a must.
I must say that red oak carpentry work you have installed up front and around the screen , the columns and the carpentry detailing above the screen look quite impressive. It adds that classic 'cinema vibe and atmosphere' to the room. That deep tone red paint you have chosen for the walls, complements the up front oak work even further. * No stray reflected light from the screen, hitting the ceilings and coming back onto the screen here. 👍 # Class work here mate on the construction fundamentals. 👍👍
That is a fantastic setup. I just put my own home theatre setup together. I have a smaller space to work with, so it’s a 7.1.4 Klipsch Dolby Atmos system with ceiling-firing speakers for overhead and a 77” LG CX. Just waiting on the Seatcraft Omega theatre sofa to arrive and it’s all good to go. Really enjoyed seeing your setup. Very well done with fine attention to detail.
I just watched footage of you from 3 years ago because of the La scala's and iam happy to see you still got them! Such a great speaker to own for music and for high end stereo.
I remember my cousin had Klipsch towers for the main left and right, I don't remember the model but they were made in 2004. Dual 8" floorstanding, running off my Pioneer THX Ultra receiver. I think it did 170 watts per channel at .05thd at 4 ohms I think... Maybe 6 ohms. But I loved those Klipsch. Didn't even need my JBL 10" and Aiwa 8" sub practically.
@@Youthman thank you man. I've had a couple audio systems. My favorites were the Realistic Mach 2 15". 80$ at my local pawn shop for a pair when I found em.

Well done thanks for your great review of your home theatre.i have been following your videos for years now. I have upgraded all my home theatre 7.4.4 theatre speakers to Klipsch Rp 8000f, Rp 504c Center, Rp 6000f sides, Rp500m rears, 4 CT 3650c in ceiling speakers and 4 12” SPL 120 suds. These are run by a Marantz Sr8012 AVR and a Anthem PVA 4 for the sides and a Anthem MCA 325 driving the front LCR. The speakers sound great, with the 8012. I took your advice re the separate sound better. And spent 6k on the Anthem amps but really Carnot hear any difference, I have calibrated the system the 2 extra subs have made a difference. I am reluctant to upgrade my 8012 to 7705 or 8805 because I might not hear any improvement in sound I know Technically you probably do in the specifications but if is not Audible theres no point.
@@romanlewandowski9616 I don't think I would have noticed 5% as my ears aren't that critical. Not sure exactly as that percentage would be very subjective and it could very well be my brain telling me I heard a difference. It's not "holy cow what have I been missing" difference but I did feel it was an improvement over the SR8012.
Glad you are enjoying those sealed subs! I think sealed is superior to ported! They just articulate everything better... and if you have a big enough one with a powerful enough amp digging down deep is not a problem. I love my HSU ULS-15MK2, I’m working on twinning it soon, it just sounds so tight and fast and shakes the whole house! Love your channel! Keep up the good work!
Youthman yeah those things have to be completely nuts 🤣 I’m trying to figure out how I can affordably reduce some bass resonance in my house currently with 1 15” sub... couldn’t imagine what twin dual 18”s would do lol. For now I’m going to put fiber glass insulation in the ceiling to reduce overall sound don’t think it will help that much with bass though... might get a denser ceiling tile for my drop ceiling so the impact waves hit that first... right now the fiber glass tiles let most of that bass energy straight through, thus shaking the TVs 2 stories up in bedrooms upstairs all the way from my basement.
I believe you meant to say that the cabinets were unstained, not unfinished. Clearly there is a clear coat and possibly some green filler on the cabinets. As a woodworker for 30 years, that is called finish. It is a beautiful home theater and you should be proud of your hard
Just a thought for you to try youthman...I recently unplugged my marantz pre 8801 from my furman and straight into the wall outlet ....man you wouldn’t believe what a difference it made. The sound stage opened up and center image is even more spot on. The surround sound has even more depth and all around fuller sound. You should try this man...I thought it was bull but it’s much better than ever before...huge difference 👍
I ran it without the Panamax before adding it and didn’t notice a difference adding it so I shouldn’t hear a difference removing it. It’s just an expensive surge protector that was given to.
To tune my room I......I hung 34 blackout drapery panels around my 14.5' W x 19' L room. Very minimal reflections. I have a 7.2.4 system. Yamaha RX-Z11 receiver. One sub & one transducer in my seating platform riser. Circa 2007 setup.
Thank you Navin. I wanted to make this video unlike any other that I have made on my channel. It was a labor of love over the past three days filming and editing it. I’m very please with how well it turned out. I’m glad you enjoyed it
Your Klipsch probably have a silk dome tweeter. My first real speakers which were Klipsch KG3s from 1987 or 1988 which had a silk dome tweeter and were some of the best speakers I ever had. They imaged like crazy, were built out of wood (not MDF), very sensitive, and made in the USA. I paid $400 for the pair which was a lot for a teenager in the 80's. I sold them chasing audiophile dreams.
One suggestion is paint your walls with a flat finish paint beside the glossy paint finish that you have now on your walls. It will reflect less light from your epson projector on to your screen with a Matt finish paint. A tip off belgian guy who likes your TH-cam videos.
For the space you have to work with this looks very well thought out and robust. Looks like a blast to watch movies and relax to some music! Nice work 👍🏻
Haha too funny. 😂 I used to worry that people would think Youthman was I was conceited and think that You-the-man. Youthman actually came from being a Youth Pastor for 23 years
Youthman Definitely not. People must not confuse your enthusiasm and conveyance for arrogance. I say just be you and f#ck the haters, if there are any! 23 years of auterism is to be commended 🙏
Incredible setup! We just finished our basement and the media room is next on my “want to” list. Ran all the speaker wire during the framing/drywall stage so I’m set up well for that. The space isn’t huge. The space for a tv/screen is about 9 ft wide (109 inches). I’m thinking an 86 inch TV may be better for my setup vs a short throw projector as the room only goes about 13 ft in length/depth Any thoughts? Also your cabinet is really what makes your setup special!
Hi Youthman!! New Subscriber here...beautiful woodwork..love that diamond pattern, I kept rewinding that section to see how you designed and made it. Once again..hats off to you sir!
@@Youthman That light shines through man! Amazing even when your just casually living life how your a reflection of him. I'm in the process of upgrading my HT and really enjoyed the video as well. Hanging a 165" screen this weekend 😁
it is a great video for set up a home theater ,absolutely awesome .i am planning to setup a new home theater.i have a small doubt in the power amplifier to be used.suggest me the better marantz av8805 or.emotiva xpa7 gen 3.
Hey youthman this is definitely the one of the nicest home theaters I've seen! One question I have is do you connect all your equipment through the panamax including power amplifier's ?
Fantastic walk thru! I’m m gettin ready to start on my room. 15.5 wide 27’ long 10’ ceiling. I may build a false wall and shorten the room but not sure yet! I want access behind the screen so I’m still planning that.
I’m fortunate that it is a large room. We bought this house last year and I was just getting back into home theater. I have a smaller living room 7.2,4 system as well so when I tear out my main room I won’t be without a theater. The living room is awesome but the longer room just adds to the surround. It make it sound so more realistic!!!! It’s going to take a while to build but I will be uploading videos of it.
I think I estimated around 80,000 if you were to buy everything brand new and pay full MSRP. But after all is said and done, I have zero out-of-pocket in my entire home theater. I explain how in my latest video - th-cam.com/video/O4sMl9Repv4/w-d-xo.html
Love it so much! Specially the screen area with the hidden speakers. What distance do you have between your screen and projector. You mentioned having to put the projector behind the wall in order to get the 150in screen. I am trying to get a 125in cinemascope 2:35:1 screen also but my room is only 12 feet deep. Wonder if I can get it using same projector.
Thank you. We have a great relationship with both our neighbors. They know if it ever is bothering them, call or text and I’ll gladly turn it down. They both have said they rarely hear it and when they do it’s not disturbing.
Looks very impressive. Those speakers must've been 4 grand a piece! If you can afford those speakers what are doing with a 5040ub? I'd imagine if I were you I'd get an nx7 or nx9. Also I heard you sit 9ft from your screen does it ever feel too close? I plan to sit 7ft from my new 127 inch 2.35:1 screen and am worried it will be too close. Unfortunately I can't fit my chairs any further back.
You are thinking of the new LaScalas. Mine are 40 years old, built in 1980, purchased used as a Youthman Deal 😉 I have since sold my Epson 5040UB to upgrade to the NX7. th-cam.com/video/fF2NPP89LnU/w-d-xo.html

Hey Michael, another great video. But I am really intrigued by the IR repeater. I never knew that could be done (I guess I never read the manual that closely...LOL). Anyway, I have a Marantz AV8805 and an OPPO UDP-205 in an audio rack which, due to layout of my room, had to be located in the FRONT of the room. Not an issue until I lower my projection screen. It’s nice that the lowered screen hides all the glowing lights, but I am unable to use my remotes. I do have iPhone apps, but I really hate using them. Do you like your Lutron IR extender? Can it be used for more than one piece of equipment?...like my OPPO and Marantz? Appreciate any feedback. Did I tell you I hate using my iPhone apps? LOL 😁
Hi Michael, I don't like using apps either to control my setup. My Harmony Elite sends an RF signal to the Harmony Hub which then uses the connected IR blasters from the hub to send IR codes to the various equipment in my entertainment center.
Have a question and need professional option. I got a huge bonus from work and trying to determine the best path. Should I upgrade my 4k tv from 55in to the LG C9 OLED 65in? Or buy another subwoofer SB-3000 for duals and upgrade my surround speakers at the same time? The budget is 3500, so I can do one or the other. I figure wait until Black Friday and get the bigger tv. Thank you in advance.
I haven’t owned a TV in 13 years so I’m probably not the one to give advice on that. It really depends on what you feel is lacking the most in your setup. Unfortunately that is a question only you can answer
The carpentry is just amazing. In the beginning of the video when you show us the componentry, my first thought was this has got to be a nightmare to wire up. Then you show us the whole lower portion is on rails for easy access to the back. Mic drop 🎤 fantastic planning. My only question would be, are you going to add a ticket booth 🎟 ?
You’ve got an awesome theater, thanks for the tour. Gone are the days when the kitchen or bathroom used to be the most expensive room in the house! Your rear surrounds aren’t that much lower to where rear heights should be mounted. As a comparison have you tried unplugging your rear tops, plugging in your rear surrounds to the rear height terminals, re-calibrating the setup as 5.2.4 then playing a ”good for Atmos” part of a movie? I’ve read that 5.2.4 using front tops and rear heights is better than 7.2.4 with the rear surrounds placed on the same wall the back seats are against and up in the “Atmos zone”. It might be an interesting thing to try/review.
Hello Youthman.....can u plz guide me wht material can i use for acoustic treatment for my small theatre room.....i dnt wanna spend many bucks on acoustics.....m on budget.....m ur great fan....plz guide :)

Simply amazing job on this video and a beautiful setup, especially the custom cabinetry!!
Now that’s what I call a home theater room. Taking the line from Jeff Splcoli “ Totally Awesome “.
You've gotta see Everest in 4K starring Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin. It's got an amazing ATMOS soundtrack. Youthman
Thx for the suggestion
Just ordered it
Well done thanks for your great review of your home theatre.i have been following your videos for years now.
I have never heard a difference between different amps but did hear an improvement in separation going to separates.
Youthman how much improvement in separation would you say 5%or more
@@romanlewandowski9616 I don't think I would have noticed 5% as my ears aren't that critical. Not sure exactly as that percentage would be very subjective and it could very well be my brain telling me I heard a difference. It's not "holy cow what have I been missing" difference but I did feel it was an improvement over the SR8012.
Youthman thanks for responding
Glad you are enjoying those sealed subs! I think sealed is superior to ported! They just articulate everything better... and if you have a big enough one with a powerful enough amp digging down deep is not a problem. I love my HSU ULS-15MK2, I’m working on twinning it soon, it just sounds so tight and fast and shakes the whole house! Love your channel! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Mike. They definitely have a completely different sound than ported but with the massive 18’s, there’s plenty of output
As a woodworker for 30
years, that is called finish. It is a beautiful home theater and you should be proud of your hard
The cabinet was made from unfinished red oak meaning my friend had to plane each board. He later stained it.
Sounds like you have a nice set up
Absolutely Stunning Old School style👏👍🤙😱😱...and 17:00/17:17 MAGIC IDEA 💯%Top❗Damn this is a Full Expensive Home Cinema😈😜
Thank you
@@Youthman my pleasure you welcome 🤜🤛congrat. For your page and Amazing home cinema stuff ...best regard
Nice setup, woodwork is very good!!
Thank you
Nice labor of love. Congrats! I hope your family and friends enjoy it. One day i hope to be able to build something similar.
Thank you kindly.
Very nice Youthman very good set up.
Thanks Gary
Wowwww.... Really you made this video more detailed. I'm much more satisfied and felt like I was there on tour with you. 💓 Uth man..
Thank you Navin. I wanted to make this video unlike any other that I have made on my channel. It was a labor of love over the past three days filming and editing it. I’m very please with how well it turned out. I’m glad you enjoyed it
So you went with the Monolith 11 :) Nice! paired with the 7705, killer system indeed!
Yes it’s a beast. I felt it was more balance with 200x3 and 100x8 than 300x3 and 65x8 with the Emotiva XPA11. Both sound great though.
I was just about to ask you about emotiva vs monolith 👌
Thanks for sharing. Awesome Home Theater. I enjoy your videos.
The LaScalas have a 1” compression driver. Not sure if they use a silk dome inside that or not.
Love it magnificent wish i had this room beautiful.
One suggestion is paint your walls with a flat finish paint beside the glossy paint finish that you have now on your walls. It will reflect less light from your epson projector on to your screen with a Matt finish paint. A tip off belgian guy who likes your TH-cam videos.
Thank you
For the space you have to work with this looks very well thought out and robust. Looks like a blast to watch movies and relax to some music! Nice work 👍🏻
Hey, you made my theater lights go off.
LOL
Great Video.
PM
Haha sorry about that Paul 😂
Great home theater system!
Thank you Miguel
Beautiful setup Youthman!
Thank you Steve
Wow, just wow. Love it. Ya not Youthman, You-are-thee-man 👍
Haha too funny.
I’m thinking an 86 inch TV may be better for my setup vs a short throw projector as the room only goes about 13 ft in length/depth
Any thoughts?
Also your cabinet is really what makes your setup special!
Hi Youthman!! New Subscriber here...beautiful woodwork..love that diamond pattern, I kept rewinding that section to see how you designed and made it. Once again..hats off to you sir!
Thanks you can find more details in my build thread. Links and photos can be found here - youthmanreviews.com/about/
Looks awsome, classic and clean!
Congratulations on your achievements.
Thank you kindly
really nice setup there Youthman, I see new subs in your future.
Haha very likely... they are beast!
Love your energy! Not sure why I feel like you would be a GREAT youth pastor with your name lol. Come off as a very positive individual great videos
Thanks! I was a Youth Pastor for 23 years (this Youthman) 😀
@@Youthman That light shines through man! Amazing even when your just casually living life how your a reflection of him.
I'm in the process of upgrading my HT and really enjoyed the video as well. Hanging a 165" screen this weekend 😁
3 0 1 thanks brother. Whoah! 165”? That massive! Congrats
it is a great video for set up a home theater ,absolutely awesome .i am planning to setup a new home theater.i have a small doubt in the power amplifier to be used.suggest me the better marantz av8805 or.emotiva xpa7 gen 3.
Wow I wish my room was longer
I’m fortunate that it is a large room. We bought this house last year and I was just getting back into home theater. I have a smaller living room 7.2,4 system as well so when I tear out my main room I won’t be without a theater. The living room is awesome but the longer room just adds to the surround. It make it sound so more realistic!!!! It’s going to take a while to build but I will be uploading videos of it.
I gotta ask...how much (ball park) have you spent on your current set up?
150k 😅
I think I estimated around 80,000 if you were to buy everything brand new and pay full MSRP. But after all is said and done, I have zero out-of-pocket in my entire home theater.
I explain how in my latest video - th-cam.com/video/O4sMl9Repv4/w-d-xo.html
@@Youthman well damn i just through a number out I was decently close wow
beautiful Youthman!
"Small 103 inch TV" says no other person. Ha! Hope I have the same "problems" soon.
Haha well...going from 103” to 150” makes 103” look small. I always felt I was looking at the movie instead of being immersed in it.
@@Youthman Agreed. I'll try not to weep staring at my 65 inch next time I'm down there.
@@Youthman - First world problems... 🤣😉👍
Absolutely love your videos! Amazing home theater. Well done!
Thank you kindly
Truly Amazing. I love your setup.
Thanks Gary
AWESOME YOUTHIE! It's a real credit to you my brother!👍👍
Thanks
Loved that room. Very nice theater!
Thank you kindly Chances
😳 Even the most avid hater will have to admit that this has to be the baddest home theater setup on TH-cam
I like what you've done to the place
Thank you kindly. Me too
My home theatre, full economy, your home theater, first class.
Thanks
Love your home theatre setup ... hope you have good neighbours with those massive subs... lol Take care!
Thank you. We have a great relationship with both our neighbors. They know if it ever is bothering them, call or text and I’ll gladly turn it down. They both have said they rarely hear it and when they do it’s not disturbing.
Excellent set up buddy
Thank you
Looks very impressive.
Mine are 40 years old, built in 1980, purchased used as a Youthman Deal 😉
I have since sold my Epson 5040UB to upgrade to the NX7. th-cam.com/video/fF2NPP89LnU/w-d-xo.html
This is an older tour. Need to shoot a new one as a lot has changed since this tour including an entire new look - th-cam.com/video/dUE1lg9uC-g/w-d-xo.html
Congrats Youthman!
Thanks RAF!
Hey, curious..do you have any sound proofing, or do you live isolated? Subwoofer sound carries like mad, and those are some doozies!
I do not have any sound proofing, I live in a gated community with about 50 homes
Beautiful room
Thank you Victor
I would go with a 75" or 82" 4k LG or Samsung TV. 👌 Honestly 65" is still a little small for a TV.
Great video and amazing Home Theater! A demo of it in action would be cool too!
I have various demos in action throughout my channel.
You have an amazing set up!! Love your videos and always look forward to them.
Thank you kindly. I’m working on a new one today
Very cool setup, bud.
Thank you Dustin
The carpentry is just amazing. In the beginning of the video when you show us the componentry, my first thought was this has got to be a nightmare to wire up. Then you show us the whole lower portion is on rails for easy access to the back. Mic drop 🎤 fantastic planning. My only question would be, are you going to add a ticket booth 🎟 ?
Nice set up but I would have gone all black to get the real theatre cinema feel but the woods nice and very cool!!! Thanks for sharing!👌👏👏👏🔥
Thanks. My previous cabinet was black and grey. Didn’t like it
Great set up!
Thanks for your time and effort!
Thanks Marco
WONDERFUL WOODWORK!!!
Alovely room too
Thankyou
Thank you kindly
Fantastic 😍 Love to hear it one day...🤩 Unfortunately I live on the other part of globe..😀
Thanks
Good video man, always love your videos and talking with you in the group!

Hello Youthman.....can u plz guide me wht material can i use for acoustic treatment for my small theatre room.....i dnt wanna spend many bucks on acoustics.....m on budget.....m ur great fan....plz guide :)
Many use Owens Corning 703
@@Youthman havent heard of it here in india much.......anyways the foam of sofa will work?? 😂
Also, have you considered a rear sub? I recently went from two in front to one front, one rear and made world of difference to a full experience.
Currently do not have a need for rear subs in my setup as I’m flat down to 8Hz using the miniDSP 2x4HD
You have great HT setup... awesome. Thumps Up...
Thanks!
Wow, wow, wow...! Can't get enough of your awesome HT. It's been an amazing 13 year journey and you've made countless upgrades and refinements along the way. This video and your presentation are top notch and super inspiring.
I enjoy smoking an occasional cigar but after viewing this video, I think I'll go and have a cigarette now...even though I have never smoked one. 🤪
Haha thank you Oldskool. I like to think that this might be my best video yet in terms of quality, structure, and video editing. Always trying to improve my content for you guys
