Boat looks awesome, your resto skills are truly impressive!👍
Ditch the crap carpet glue and use contact cement no clamps required. You can litterly carpet a whole boat in 2 days from start to finish. I've done this several times with my dad and uncle on their various bass boats over the years.
One small tip- when you unroll your carpet take a sharpie or a China marker and draw arrows every foot in the same direction on 12 inch centers all over the entire carpet. Make sure the carpet is all going the same direction when you carpet the deck and hatches, this ensures the pile is all going the same direction and keeps the carpet uniform. Otherwise you will see lighter sections due to pile going in all different directions.
Really been enjoying the build videos
Those seats are some badass looking seats. Those look comfy as shjt bro. Good job on that brother
Definitely go with the Yamaha additives!
New subscriber here. Keep up the great content and much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤. I know exactly what u mean about doing this type of work urself. I just redid my flooring and stuff in my 14ft Jon boat. It's def more complicated then it looks from other youtubers 😂😂😂. Anyways keep up the hard work and dedication towards the channel.
Oh and tip for ya I really hope u have the carpet going in the same direction for all them panels. Because if not some will look lighter and darker than others once u get them all in u will def notice the difference if u hadn't 😂😂😂. And I just watched the end of the video and it looks like u did get a few of them lids the wrong direction because u can see that some of them look lighter than others and that would be because the carpet wasn't installed all in the same direction. Not really a big issue but def would drive me crazy because I'm Ocd like that.
The sea decking foam type is easier and better looking as well as more comfortable
I use 1x2 with clamps
My fuel tank doesn't have any over the top supports, it has side brackets on tank
Waiting to see how you do the seat base. Mine is 2001 R81VS. Same trailer you have. For the rivets and hinges i shaved the carpet due to the thickness of 20 oz
I didn’t have an issue with carpet based on its thickness, just getting the finish cuts around the boats curves was time consuming.
A recessed foot tray for the trolling motor is also a good touch for the next owner. Any idea when you’ll put it up for sell and where? I may be interested.
I am going to skip the recessed foot well since the carpet is completed. It would have been a cleaner look with the wires. I am in MN and I am guessing i’ll list it within the month of July. Then on to the next project! 😂
@@impulserecreationbuyer well, whenever you list it, I’ll be sure to get in contact with you. I’m in MD and been looking for a good used boat.
Did you take pics or video the making of the seat base?
The seat base is pretty simple. The fuel cell hold down is what supports the plywood at the back of the boat in addition to the fuel cell itself and the front of the seat base is screwed into the gel coat front lip. Then seats sit on top of that carpet wrapped wood. Seats get screwed into the boat through the back. Centar part of the Cushions are removable via velcro.
