Nicee, thank you for the review bro, there is still no some badge or special versions for reviewers but thanks for doing this content :D. note: v2 was deployed some hours after you uploaded this video haha, incredible timing.
I really enjoy your sense of discovery and very concise analysis. I have been looking for something to show me what Seelen UI looked like. Great job! I am subscribed to this channel now
This is great but... i mentioned already that when using tools like this one is good idea to keep an eye on what windows updates do because every user of seelen ui or similar tools should be aware that microsoft doesn't want seelen or any tool to be able to customize desktop for some reason even i can't explain.
Now, to be honest, it's not about being able to customize the Windows 11 design. It's still a data mining/telemetry operating system contaminated with ads. If you don't care about privacy, Windows 11 or MacOS is certainly a great operating system. I don't want to advertise Linux. It isn't perfect either. But for me privacy is more important and i use Fedora for almost anything and Win11 only for some video editing. Anyway, nice video bro ;-)
only if there is a big company that takes over and streamline linux like how google streamline android because linux wont grow fast enough because linux community keep making new distros and have distro wars and fight each other.
As someone who recently tried linux, it's not as great as people make it sound. It had issues with modding, some games and couldn't run my important apps. It was missing drivers for many of my peripherals. If it's easier to debloat windows 11 and have less problems, then that suggests it's not ready for the masses.
have u heard about firewalls or terminals in windows? you can litteraly block every port or ip range you want and make every connection to ask for your approval. from all that you mentioned macOs is by far the worst one for privacy.
Your always on track bro. I love using your research. Thanks alot for your ideas. How can I have the same MOUSE CURSOR as you are using to have it to on my pc
I just tried this and while it was working, it was nice. Did a restart and nothing showed up after (tried it with both "start with windows on start up on and off"). Tool bar, task bar etc. Just my wallpaper. I can still use the Windows key normally and open apps, but other than that, nothing shows on my screen. I uninstalled it, did a restart and not even the regular windows task bar shows up anymore. Currently trouble shooting, but not installing this software again.
@@Madroux-vj2un I was able to, yeah. I ended up having to re install it and somehow that helped, so I decided to give it another go aaand nope. It's buggy when opening a game, the dock ends up adding extra short cuts (xbox apps, spotify widget that you can't remove), if you mess with some settings it will add a bunch of icons that you can't remove.... It's just really buggy for me. So before uninstalling again, I made sure it didn't start on start up and reset all settings, uninstalled, restarted and it PC went back to normal. Only thing I had to switch back on my actual system was switching off "automatically hide the task bar" and everything was back to normal.
@@akashjoshi9016 well it didnt, the normal ui i visible for few second, but i found the solution for this ued nirCmd to disable the takk bar now it i not visible and i am thinking to combine rainmeter a well
@@darkblazekshitij8755 yeah rainmeter is great customization tool, I personally use widgets like mond (for clock) and Monterey(music) in rainmeter as it look super good
That's what I'm worried about. Seems like it will be a CPU heavy application. Doesn't seem to change the actual DE of windows but more seems to add UI elements on top of and independently of the already running Windows DE. People with fast CPUs should have a blast though
Imagine it's not resource intensive. From my task manager, I can see it has only two processes running taking only 26 MB. You can try debloating your Windows then switch to Edge if you're using Chrome then turn off things you don't need. It'll save you some gigabytes of RAM. There is a lot of nonsense running that you don't need but eats your resources.
@@shizzywizzy6169 In my view, I find it different and that's why I liked it. Unlike Rainmeter, it doesn't do what you've just described. I've dug through version 2.03 and it stands out even though it has a few misses.

bro! saw this at its beginning on a reddit post. I have big hopes for Seelen!
Also, if I may ask: any plans for a gnome-like overview? :D
hi it's you the dev.. keep up the good work.. btw what is the shortcut key for app launcher (rofi thingi)
@@kilObit yeah many people make me this question on last version I add the shortcut on the header, (Win + Space)
CMD+Space perhaps? 🤓😆
(Guess based on MacOS Spotlight, I have not tested this software)

this is insane!!! i am really so excited to try this

agreed! but it's their work to keep doing the cat and mouse thing :D
how to make windows 11 look like gnome
Hahaha true 😂😂😂😂
Isn't that just perfect :)
Hey I found you channel again lol. Noone made video about seelen UI despite being so good but you are, great work 👍
Thank you so much for this tool.

this is the first time I've seen about this. would be perfect for gnome lovers who use windows.
have you experienced any slowdows? and is it resource intensive?
Goog video as always bro.
Goog
Very goog indeed!
the v2 will be released on the MS store Monday!
you can add apps to the dock by opening them then right clicking on the dock
that tool looks so sick
Great tool ,Thanks

did you fix it ?

Do you think this will be gamepad compatible?
My problem is:
When I run this Seelen UI it completely blurs my screen
does this slow down the PC while in use? is it heavy on the cpu/gpu?
how much effects on performance and battery life ?
Are all the apps that won't show icons/previews running in portable mode? Maybe admin mode?
yes that's on v1 on v2 the apps running as admin will be directly hidden on dock if you're not running the app as admin.
I thought this is a Windows 11 skin for GNOME at first 🗿
we want your linux journey series
where do you find these apps?!?! lol, subbing to is MONEY
the task bar reminds me of hyprland
where can i find the wallpaper used?? anyone??
Bros Windows 11 look like Linux💀

check out kde connect for windows for your next video.
I just downloaded V2.0.3. When I use Rainbow, my GPU utilization jumps from 2% to 70%. Lol, don't use Rainbow until this is fixed.
bro i need help when my window restarts window task bar is visible for few seconds then the seelen ui taskbar loads up any way to fix it
you can try setting seelen ui as an startup app , may be that can help
