Your hand-sewn shirt is lovely!! I like your outfit you are wearing!! The trip to Scotland looks amazing. I love Scotland!! You are so inspiring how you are working through your stach. The trend pattern dress is stunning!
Thanks Katinka ! Yes that Riviera dress looks like a goodie......I have some white cotton sateen so vague thoughts about sewing it up in that, then painting or dyeing !! Thanks for watching ☺️
Your hand-sewn shirt looks very sharp Debs, love how the shape of it and how the stripes are all slightly different. I can understand you not wanting to machine your buttons on after taking time and care over hand-sewing everything else. I’ve had my eye on the Scout shirt and yours looks great. I recently made a long sleeved Timbre top by Love Notions and the sleeves came out quite short so I’m now adding a bit of length to them
Glad you had a good holiday. Love your shirts, they look wonderful, the striped one is really dreamy. Agree on the podcasts, my faves too. Have been finishing up sewing for gifts, just one quilt to go then back to clothes sewing for me. Might need the scout shirt pattern....
I haven't made the whisper slippers but I have made a few pairs of the Jalie Nordik slippers - I put the sole grip layer on one pair but not the others, and I don't think I'll ever bother with it in future unless I am making slippers from a very slippery fabric. I made my slippers with a flannelette and also with fleecy tracksuit material and they haven't been slippery on the tiles at home at all.
I am also frequently tempted by pattern company sales! Like you though, I also have quite a large stash so don't feel the urge to rush out to buy more. If I see something that I really, really love then I get it. What I do is try to visualise what it would look like to wear and that often tempers my desire to buy it. As for the handmade shirt, I know this would grieve you but I would just machine sew the buttonholes. You have put so much work into it that could be marred if the handsewn ones look a bit meh. The other option is those new snaps that you just click in with your fingers (Bohin and Hemline make them). I have used them several times on jersey and they are great but I still think buttons would look better for your shirt.
Aw, lovely sewing update and I can agree, Wester Ross is fabulous, despite the weather, LOL!
Thank you ☺️ Yes its a glorious place!
I’m so glad you had a lovely holiday. I’m very impressed with your hand stitching skills and patience ❤
Always a joy to watch Debs x
Thanks Sam! Hand sewing brings out patience that Im not sure I demonstrate at other times 😁

I recognise that beach. I’ve spent many summer holidays there since childhood. It is a marvellous place even in the midge rain.
It is ☺️

Thank you! Looking forward to seeing if the Scout dress gets as much wear. The timbre looks like a versatile pattern too 😊
