@@HunterVex. now Daddy cool is a surprising but very welcoming sight! I love stuff that us Aussies produce to, I'm just really quite surprised to see any band from little old Tassie, getting reacted to
Wow, never expected to see these guys on here. I haven’t seen anyone react to them, really. Congrats on the suggestion whoever you are, and thanks for the reaction Geebz.
Also: The guitarist and drummer are brothers, hence their insanely tight sync. And interesting you say there's a through line you can hang on to, I saw them specifically talk about this in an interview, they were writing more and more complicated songs but weren't happy with the result so went back and used two or three riffs for the whole song
I am quite confident that at the level these musicians are, they are capable of being in sync with anyone, as long as they, too, are at an equivalent level of musicianship. I wouldn't be surprised if joe and dave can play each others' parts, at least somewhat convincingly.
Lacertine Forest from their album Scepter of the Ancients is an absolute classic, you should definitely give it a listen. Also Skin Coffin from the same album.
Glad to see Psycroptic here! Gotta mention their best song in my opinion, "Valley of winds breath and dragon's fire". Not only is it very good musically and has the most flexible vocals I heard in the genre, what struck me the most when I stumbled upon it is how the lyrics and the story being told matches the riffs, rythm and pauses. The ending gave me chills when I first listened to it while reading the lyrics.
it’s been a long while since I listened to Psycroptic. That production is super tight and clean, and these guys were playing their asses off. Cool track. For some other “obscure australian metal” there’s Portal although they go a much different direction with their sound. And right off the coast in New Zealand is Ulcerate who I would love to see a reaction for: “Dissolved Orders”, “Omens”, or “The Earth at its Knees”. Thanks for doing what you do!
haven't heard this band name in quite a while, looks like they added a few more elements to their style. Clean and crisp ans tight is definitely what I remember from the production style
Cold is one of those songs that so many people have heard but no one remembers who wrote it or where they heard it. I remember hearing this song when I was 8, found this band by chance. Played this song, and immediately from the opening riff thought "wait, they wrote that song!?"
Sickkkkk! Aus rep, great band, been listening for years! Definitely need to check out more of these guys, Joe Haley is a riff master! Songs for you would be As The Kingdom Drowns, The Colour of Sleep, Carriers of the Plague, A fool’s errand!
Hey, Geebz... Im a New guy to your channel. And i would like to say, i find your positive energy to be a Quite Suiting and Vibes well along side the Metal Genre of music u cover.. So with that, i Hit the Subscribe Button! Also to make mention of the guitarist Joe, he has some Sick and Solid Riffing bringing this 90's kind of Metal feel to their style and sound... I Enjoyed your Analysis!
Love this band. The guitarist acts more like a virtuoso bass player, all the riffs have insane geezer butler tails to them that also basically negate the need for solos. Also, catchy riffs rather than tech-for-the-sake-of-it noodling.
Geebz you need to check out Reliqa - Safety. If we're talking obscure Australian they're fantastic and they have an awesome female vocalist. I'll send you my 1st born if you don't like it.
If you want to check out another Australian artist, then I'm sure we can all suggest at ton, as there are so many great bands and artists, no matter the genre. However, keeping to the metal side of things, I personally love Thornhill and how they make such mesmerising music, which I think you would really enjoy. Great reaction as ways Jeebz!
This will likely never get picked. But tasmania (where psycroptic is from) has only a small handful of metal bands and it's insane that they (psycroptic) have the reach they do. Two metal bands from Tas that I'd recommend from Tas right now would be The Absolution Sequence, insane tech death 6 piece (3 guitarists) and Aspire/Create Prog Metal 4 piece Alright peace out guys!
One of the most underrated metal bands around. Joe writes some of the sickest riffs!
death metal? tasmanian tech death metal? INSTANT LIKE for this band no matter what they put out!
Didn't even know we had enough people to form a band 🤷🏼♂️
@@liamwells2132 some of my favorite bands have come from the down under! AC/DC, Airbourne, Daddy Cool, Psycroptic!

Best Aussie metal band by far

You can hear that change from Symbols Of Failure to (ob)Servant and i think they made a good decision

Really dig this band. So technical and proggy but at the same time it's catchy af.

This slaps so hard.
Next song by them you should do is REND ASUNDER off of their latest album. This one slaps pretty hard.

Joe Haley is a riff god 🤘
These guys are an old favorite, love your chanel btw, chill vibes
For another Australian band, check out Hiatus Kaiyote! Virtuoso rhythmic soul
Pure talent
You should listen to Transdermal Celebration by Ween. One of the best rock songs ever written IMO.
Amazing song. There's also a lovely cover by Devin Townsend on one of the DTP records.
