I think with multiscale on this six string, which is 25.5 to 27.5. U still can down tune even to Drop Fis. It got much more baritone scale at the top than most seven-string guitars around. And you don't have to use cable strings.
If you get a chance to see Psycroptic live, you absolutely should, they're incredibly tight and amazing. As a side note people mightn't know about, Dave Haley also drums in the band Werewolves, and you should definitely see them live if you can.
Flawless victory. Can't describe how amazing it is, so tight. I believe when you were recording the album you've done it with one try for all the songs, so perfect it is. You are the man, dude, your riffs definitely remind me Dimebag's stuff. Keep it up \m/
Jacob Wells i reckon I will down the track - would be a bit to set up as I don't have backings for those ones. I'm obviously gonna do the ones that are easiest to setup due to my laziness, but I'll get to 'em. :)
Joe I just now am hearing your awesome work, after all these years plugging away, I think your music is reaching further into unheard ears of many, now I want an Ormsby because of you
Going to attempt to learn this song I got the official tab book and its at a slower 105 bpm than the normal 120... You frown and make faces though hopefully it was at the sun and not how secretly hard it is to play lol
The secret is low output pickups, letting the amp providing the gain. That way you're gaining up a clean signal rather than amplifying an already distorted tone.
That intro riff is an absolute banger… I first saw it when Dean Lamb tried to play it
Dude doesn’t need a shit load of distortion and effects to sound so good. Damn he’s bad ass!👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The first riff is like an Opeth riff at 2x speed
I love how Psycroptic use 6 string and drop d. Makes it so much easier than needing 9 strings and some power line cable for strings like some bands
Why won't people let different kinds of metal music coexist?
brilliant!!! guitar don't need over string it need talent and mid like joe haley!!!
Just like Sylosis used to do! Standard E and Drop D have produced the heaviest riffs known to man

yeah, but his 6 string is a baritone multiscale, so :P
Well dang, now I kinda want a whole instrumental version of the album like Inferi did with theirs.
Peppo: *am I a fucking joke to you*
Inferi fucking rules 🔥🔥🔥 and so does Joe
That tone and tightness of the whole band…just wow. The old school vibes are also amazing.
Joe, you've gotta upload some playthroughs from the new album! You guys just keep getting better and better!
and that solo on Deadlands... phew...

I seen them in Brisbane when i was in town for Meshuggah the next day. Got to do a bunch of mic grabs for vocal parts. They are beyond tight live.
cool! i mean... cold! awesome man!
Another one of the top Riff Lords to have ever graced us feeble humans

love the riffage, original and tasty. i also dig the crunchy mid tone, so clear.
Absolutely awesome man, don't suppose you're doing any playthroughs of stuff from Scepter at all? Would love to see some of that older shit🤘🏻
Jacob Wells i reckon I will down the track - would be a bit to set up as I don't have backings for those ones. I'm obviously gonna do the ones that are easiest to setup due to my laziness, but I'll get to 'em. :)
Joe Haley cool man!
Jacob Wells yeah me too🤘

Joe Haley hey Joe would you please make a tab book for Symbols of Failure? That’s one of my favorite albums by you guys! I’d buy it in a heartbeat 🤘🏽
this song is stuck in my head permanently 🤘🤘🤘and i love it
The tone.... it's just perfect!
The intro to this song is soooo killer gives me goosebumps and fire in the belly, Thanks Mr Joe!
Love that these videos are actual playthroughs, as opposed to so many other videos on youtube by metal bands. Killer!
still one of my favorite fuckin bands out there. come back to Denmark after the pandemic.
Joe, your sound and playing style is so fucking crunchy! Love it

Main verse riff is so fucking badass.
I reckon Dimebag would have loved you man!

Technical yet groovy as f.
So fucking sick!
You are my hero
Was hoping you'd do this one cause it's my favorite Psycro song. Love your playing so much Joe. One of the coolest guitars I've ever seen too

Joe, I'm very curious to know the signal chain, thanks!
fucking amazing
I grit my teeth watching him play this
the best.
...in the biz.
Imagine coming up with this riff and thinking 'I just wrote the best riff in the world'
Going to attempt to learn this song I got the official tab book and its at a slower 105 bpm than the normal 120... You frown and make faces though hopefully it was at the sun and not how secretly hard it is to play lol
what are you running ampwise? a ridiculous amount of clarity and such seemingly low gain
The secret is low output pickups, letting the amp providing the gain.

Perry Ormsby knows what's up! :)
🎸🔥🔥
Where do you get that octave/chorus sound on bends from? It's only on bends, the rest of the riffs are tight and crisp
Thats what they call "tone" in the hands......
Might have been asked already but what amp are you using joe?
Recommendations for strings in this style? Need a re string and just picked up the tab book 🤔
MrDoyley23 I just use 9 - 46 d'addario. Does the trick!
Legend. Thanks for the tabs 🤘
what bridge pickup is this using?
fucking master..
Fucking YEEAAHHH!
Tighter than a miser's wallet, great job.
Man that guitar... Would I have to give up just one kidney or both of them?.....
he holds the guitar like me.. and that's pretty much it.
Yooo play this at .75x speed
