Oh no! John Piper was who I mostly listened to here on TH-cam before I started deconstructing just over a month ago. Of course I see him in a different light now. He is fanatical to say the least. What Marla said about his book made me chuckle. Great guest and great interview. Keep them coming, Tim!

Agnostic atheist is how I describe myself. I am atheist to the Judeo-Christian god, but cannot rule out something better. I also don't care about a god. Just want to try giving back and preparing my kids for this life.

Hey Tim, great interview as always. I was wondering if you can recommend a couple books about this stuff, I really want to dig deeper into where all these stories come from. So if you could point out some books for me I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I worked in Cambodia with an NGO and that is what fast tracked my deconstruction. Also did Abeka 😅

Hi Tim, wonderful presentations! Your comments at 1:19:46 to 1:22:26 about how most of the miraculous stories about Jesus are based on Greek and Roman mythology, and which you have alluded to in other presentations, are fascinating. Also, the story about The Flood of Noah was in other cultures and seemingly copied from these other sources. And also how the Gospel writers twisted stories in the OT and/or made up stories about Jesus so as to give the appearance that Jesus was fulfilling OT prophesies. Please do a segment or segments on these aspects of the bible. They have done much to demonstrate to me how fake and human-made the bible really is.

Maria is a great woman and thinker. It amazes me how many people I have met cite 2016 as the year they stopped speaking to friends, family, and colleagues. I think the news media, the government, schools, and churches allowed a certain presidential candidate to get away with the things he did and said. he and the conservatives in our country allowed these lies. and now look where we are.

Funny I was thinking about John Piper's book the last couple of days "Don't waste your life".
Makes my blood boil thinking about it now but I used to like his teachings before

Me too. Buying his books for $1 and destroying them to make protest bookmarks has helped lol.

“If you wanna live in comfort…you can’t start letting the truth come in”….ouch😢
You and I were similar region and story…wondering if you’d care to name the college you attended…
The horrendous very little oversight program that is here in ohio taking kids out of school for church programs is called “Lifewise”..ugh

We’ll see, I guess🤷🏻‍♀️. Thanks a bunch for sharing your story!
