- I'm feeling a little bit better today and I'm doing something that I haven't done so far on the channel and that's review a kebab shop. I've reviewed many Turkish restaurants and have been really impressed with the food but lets see what EaTurkish has in store today. Looking forward to this one!

Ali one of the owners is my neighbour..i know him well he puts his heart and soul in to that business to make it the best he possibly can..the food is consistently fantastic..the home made bread is soooo good.
The hard work has certainly paid off too. I do like to see local independents doing well. 👍

That was one beautiful looking dish and you certainly went for it and obviously enjoyed it!
It just goes to show that there are some decent independent fast food outlets around although I think it's very telling that this one is in what appears to be a residential area and not the more common student quarter or 'fast food run' often found in city / town centres.
As always, a very rounded and objective review Gary which was a great watch.

I’d say there are more better independent outlets than chains, Burger King, McDonalds, kfc and all these other mid brands wouldn’t touch 90% of the Chinese/indian/kebab in my area 😂

That looked like a kebab cafe/restaurant like you'd find in Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria. Quality and presentation were excellent and definitely notches up from most standard kebab shops. Home-made bread and sauces as well made it seem more authentic. My only gripe was the cutlery and cutting into that piece of lamb looked like hard work. Good idea about bringing your own and I must remember to do that. The grillled veg looked really appetising. No wonder it's popular. Thanks for another great review.
Spot on about the cutlery. Poundland do metal cutlery, cheap enough.
As it’s mainly a takeaway I couldn’t complain about the utensils however going forward’s definitely 💯 bringing my own 👍

A very enjoyable video, Gary. This looked to be a next level kebab meal. There was nothing generic about it at all. All the components looked fresh and selectively chosen . Home made breads and sauces with fresh salad and dressing.. The charring of the marinated meats looked very appetising. What a difference from the usual high street kebabs. I've found Turkish Cypriot people to be very friendly and courteous and the proprietors here seem no exception. As you say, very clean, efficient as well as charming. Another lovely find, Gary.

Hi Gary, that looked really good, except for the dry piece of lamb, everything looked fabulous. The chicken looked really great and quite sure I would enjoy that kebab. So not too far from central London where I live, so will definitely bring my buddies down and try it.

I drive past most days & I must say, it’s always busy from opening with workmen etc. Heard & read many decent things about this place… Ive gotta give it a go this week, I bet the Lahmacun is great ! The dips look fantastic. I'm a big fan of hummus! The haloumi also looks great. What a fantastic looking place. I wish I lived nearby (let alone in the country) as I'd go there for sure. Also, kudos to the cameraman for an excellent job!

@@GaryEatskeep the chillis/hot food reviews going however - tolerance is good. I’ve been eating them since a child and pretty much have them with everything - I’m that sad but addicted. I even carry chilli flakes/cayenne pepper etc with me when out and about.
Especially when you go to these these fast food/franchises that advertise something as ‘spicy’ or ‘hot’ and it’s anything but. Catering for the masses rather than chilli lovers. What’s the point? Just my little rant. 🤪😂
A fair rating methinks as the lamb should be the same throughout, I’ve never had a lamb kebab which differs in texture like that! Perhaps they used both old and newly cooked meat to use it up?JMO🙂
This gaff is only down the road from me , nice to see you doing local stuff as well as the more up market stuff .

Great review again Gary. Glad you're on the mend. The kebab looked great. My only gripe (and I'm being picky) is the wooden school trays they serve the food on. Not a fan but otherwise, decent stuff!

Everytime i drive past there, i always see a lot of Police cars parked up there. I used to think they had loads of trouble there. Then i realised they were all ordering food 😂

Turkish salads typically contain pomegranate molasses and/or sumac to give it the sweetness and freshness. Regarding the lamb, something I have notice in the last year as prices have gone up and portion sizes decreased, that lamb pieces are a little smaller therefore can get slightly overcooked. Another fine review of one of my favourite cuisines!

Great video Gary 👌I do recommend .. Gökyüzü as there’s actually quite a few of them in London or Mangal 1 in Dalston !! They are definitely the best Turkish restaurants around in London 👍

Well done Gary. I watched them put together a raw kebab in Turkey. I have never had a kebab since. Their hygiene standards were truly basic, different raw meats handled with the same protective gloves. I'm sure yours was a great deal more hygienically produced. 👍👍👍👍👍

Nice looking food there mate. I think your 8.5/10 score was very fair. Shame about the tough piece of lamb you had but these things happen. I remember going to Turkey back in 1995 as a teenager and I had Adana, Erfa and Shawarma kebabs. Some of the nicest food I've ever had. We have a couple of Turkish kebab shops here in Solihull so I plan on trying them soon. Will let you know what they're like buddy.

You are looking much better Gary. I spotted chips on the menu. Start with the warm bread and dips, they looked amazing. Then chips, halloumi, and hummus. Enjoyed that, well I can dream. Food looked great and you enjoyed it. Eight and a half was fair. You have discovered your forte in life.

Glad your feeling better. Wow, 60k...wish I had noted down how many it was when I first joined you . Your channel, as we all predicted, is growing at the speed of light. Well deserved and congratulations🎉 I thought the food looked lovely, very fresh and vibrant. A shame about the lamb but it wouldn't stop me going there and they seem to take such pride in their restaurant that, after watching this review, I am sure that they will sort it. Because of the beautiful complimentary dips and homemade bread, they didn't skimp on them, I think the price is well justified.

Looks like good food overall, but prices that remind me why I don't live in London. Eight quid for salty, rubbery "cheese"? Bizarre that they serve you on reusable wooden platters, but provide you with horrible plastic utensils.

Food ok but the tinned tomato chilli sauce lets it down they should use fresh tomatoes instead, Taksim Restaurant at the bottom of Blackheath Hill is much much better.

The complimentary dips looked awesome, that would cost about $12 here in the US. They use sumac powder which has a lemony flavor in some Middle Eastern dishes. I make my own tabouleh salad since traditional uses mint and it’s not my favorite in savory recipes.

You need your do Ockbassi in S Tottenham, next to Bruce Grove overground. Get the huge platter, feeds 3 people but so good. Their soup is also excellent! Do it , the complimentary Salad and Bread is awesome

Call me sad if you wish, but if I know we are going to have something like this to eat, I always take my own metal knife and fork as it makes a real difference to how I enjoy the food as opposed to the wooden ones.

I do love how genuine Turkish and Lebanese restaurants serve the most wonderful starters or mezze, and those looked so yummy along with the lovely fresh bread. As for your mixed kebab, wow, it looked absolutely delicious, as well as the halloumi. Hope I can find a smilarly wonderful substitute kebab place, or otherwise I'm going to have to go a very long way and track down EA Turkish for a kebab this good! I'd feel like a fraud if I gave a 10/10 when I can't taste the food, but I honestly felt it only just fell short of that so am awarding a 9/10 just based on the quantity, quality and the presentation. Thanks Gary, that was a very objective review!
