  • The story of the 1998 Central Division Champion Cleveland Indians. Narrated by Tom Hamilton and featuring John Hart, Mike Hargrove, and many favorite Indians players.
**Up until recently, I've been downloading my personal VHS collection. However, the collection is obviously limited. I started a Patreon page to better find and purchase old VHS videos on EBAY and other websites, as well as at garage sales and other locations that might have VHS available, so I can upload them for all to see and share for free. Since the inauguration of beautiful Jacobs Field, each season has added an unpredictable and unique chapter to the continuing success story that is the Cleveland Indians...and 1998 was no different.
From the wire-to-wire performance that saw the Indians capture their fourth straight American League Central Division Championship and third appearance in the last four years of the American League Championship Series, to the sparkling Gold Glove acrobatics of Omar Vizquel, and remarkable home run binge of Manny Ramirez, Tribe fans can relive these and other exciting moments on this action-packed video narrated by Indians radio voice Tom Hamilton.
Jacobs Field's unprecedented sellout streak reached 292 at regular season's end, as baseball's best fans (the Tribe's 10th Man) packed the baseball-only jewel to the tune of a record 3.4 million in attendance. Watch the Indians clinch the AL Central on September 16th as Charles Nagy wins #14 with the help of HRs by Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, and Richie Sexson. Relive the exciting and exhausting moments of the 1998 postseason, including the on-field fireworks at the start of Game 2 of the AL Division Series vs. the Boston Red Sox and the Indians attempt to derail the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series.
It's all on this action-packed video. Relive your favorite moments of the 1998 season and witness the behind-the-scenes stories of a team that has captured the hearts of the world's best fans.

This was an odd year for the Indians - their record was a "meh" 89-73 but they were on cruise control all season with no competition in the AL Central. If they had needed to they probably would have won 100+ games as talented as they were. And even with the 25-win gap no one was surprised that they gave the 114-win Yankees a tough series.

Robbie Alomar players on the Indians for 3 seasons (99-01), and Vizquel hit a game winning grand slam in 1999. I was at that game

1997 pissed me off really badly. The Marlins were an absolute disgrace to the game, buying a championship then selling it off because asshole Huzienga couldn’t afford it all of a sudden.FUCK HIM.

Kind of like the 1990s Version of the 1986 Mets except without a World Series Title won. The 1995 to 1998 Indians in my humble opinion were one of the Most Powerful, Stacked and Dangerous MLB Teams in history that never won a World Series. That Team should have been back to back year World Series Winners.

I believe it because every time I ask one of the club or Plain Dealer journalists, I never got an answer. Did you know that the 1999 Tribe was the last team to score over 1,000 runs (and it was the first time in 50 years)?

Being a Tribe fan in the 90’s was awesome but they should have won a World Series.
Yes, John Hart and his team made some great moves. But how the f did they not win like 3 or 4????
The 95 Tribe had 8 .300 hitters. 8!!!!! You will never see an MLB team like that ever.
After 95 they made some seriously bone headed moves….
-Didn’t resign Ken Hill (96 Cy Young 6th)
-Traded Eddie Murray and pissed off everyone on the team for Kent Merker a left handed pitcher that they didn’t resign that went on to play for 10-11 years as a solid middle to back end reliever.
-Traded away future HOF’r Jeff Kent
-Traded away Marquis Grissom in one of the worst trades in MLB history
-Traded future all star Sean Casey for Dave Burba
-This list will be completed at a later date…. Trust me is goes on and on
