Welcome back. Love the new video style. I recently test rode a CFMOTO with the same engine & it had a throaty intake sound that put a teepee in my trousers. If the Svartpilen can deliver on the extra power and keep that throaty intake then I just might have to clear some room in the garage for one.

That's a really cool bike. Unfortunately I'm boycotting everything KTM because of their pay for play antics.....yes I know it's likely that all the other brands will eventually do it, but KTM started it so.
No more flat tracker/scrambler vibes. Now the only thing setting it apart from all the other p-twins is the round headlight. You know you can get buried on your motorcycle? Thats gonna be me with my 2020 svartpilen 701( the best one)

Having adjustable suspension is a god send and I'm on a wee 401. I am now torn between possibly getting a used 701 or the new 801. Ugh. I mean the 701 will be a BARGAIN in comparison, also the 801 is 400+ lbs, so might lose some agility, which I love so much.. the new safety tech is nice..
As a Vit 701 rider myself, you pretty much summed up my thoughts on the 801. It's pretty. It's just not as pretty as the bike that's already in my garage. :)
Here I am with my brand new Vitpilen 401.... For reals though, I like the KTM and CFMoto, but if I had the choice and skill, I would go with the Husqvarna 801.
Yup I was sort of holding out for the rumoured 901 husky then I Got sick of waiting. And got a gen 1 Aprillia Tuono Racing which has all of the fruit, I couldn’t be happier especially since they downgraded it from the rumoured 901 up the 790 motor . Your 701 is still a much nicer design.
What happened to the 501???? Im definitely interested in this bike. I prefer the styling when the 401 first came out but these are still great looking!
That "street camo" livery looks like the finish brands use to mask the general silhouette of bike when running tests on open roads. Ive only seen a car brand I forgot and KTM use that tho

I was genuinely interested in what you had to say - but you didn't really go into the looks as much as I expected - I think the 801 has lost the character of the 701 - it looks more generic now - squint just a little and it looks just like a CB650
Interesting! I was hoping that you would comment about this new bike and say whether you would get it over the 701. So, you say no trade but you would get it? Given all of the upgrades to it you say no? If you do another video can you discuss that a little more I like to know your thoughts on that. Thanks for the feedback! I'm trying to ramble less.... Without riding it I would not trade in my 701 because I love the thumper chainsaw-like agility too much. BUTT I'm weird and would probably just get it alongside the 701 because it's got all the sexy upgrades (much like my dream garage would include first gen and second gen XSR900). Now, if (WHEN) I ride it and it's amazing then I would reconsider and likely trade it in. Also, I think if they did an 890 instead of the 790 I would've been more inclined to say GIMMIE

I want Husky to pump out the very first direct injection single-cylinder 500cc engine with an eye-watering 55ft/lb or torgos and 70hp AND 80mpg... I know they can do it, I desperately *want* someone to do it. I will hand-clean the intake ports if I have to, I don't care!
Absolute failure 🤦♂️. Cheap Chinese duke 790 with cheap parts, hornshoed on body panels that do not retain a y of the origanls lines or proportions. It looks squished and bulbous and cheap 🤢🤮🤦♂️
Yeah it's almost like a completely different model especially in comparison to the concept models from 2018. But 401's moved manufacturing to India in 2018 and the 701s to China late 2020 so it was bound to happen...

I have a 2020 Vitpilen 701….same as you….from my cold dead hands….even though the dash is garbage….

Have you changed the fork oil in your 701? Maybe you could do a video on that. Try a premium oil. Show use your used dirty oil girl.
