Thank you sir. You saved my sanity! After taking my new MKII out the 3rd time, and having it begin to do FTE every other round I decided a 1st cleaning was in order (after about 150 rounds). Taking those parts out is easy peasy, but putting them all back in and snapping that ring over was giving me the blues. I got it back together using your method on the first try!

THANK YOU! You saved the day. Had a broken extractor trying to get things re-assembled. Enough to make a preacher cuss. Followed your video....simple and easy.

Ha! So that's how it's done! Seen another video. Took me about 10 minutes and a ton of swearing to get the guide and extractor in. This makes it simple. Thank You!

Your VIDEO is by far the best and simplest repair have seen on this problem. Thanks!

Shot my Mark II F for the first time, today.
The bolt would only extract the empty shell about 3/4 of the time.
Savage is sending me a new extractor and now I will be able to install it with the help of this video.
    Thank you for posting it.

Thanks for a thorough and professional explanation. Although I've done this for years myself I've seen way too many videos showing the wrong way of doing this while using incorrect parts descriptions in reference to the extractor and cartridge guide. I'm sure this has confused a lot of folks and spread a lot of misinformation.

I have a new Mark II. I have less than 150 rounds thru it. The face of the bolt is clean and free of debris, the hook is sharp on the extractor. It quiet often will not remove the round from the chamber. I can pick the spent shell casing out of the chamber with my knife...and it seems to come out very easily. The rifle also will not remove a unfired round occasionally. I then have to shoot it into the ground and pick the empty casing out. Any ideals ??? The chamber/ bore has been cleaned also. Thank you

Sounds like there is an issue with the chamber. I would take it to a gunsmith for inspection. Or, you can send it to us. We are a brick and mortar retail firearms store with gunsmith services.

I'm desperate I absolutely love my mark ii and want it going again.

To resolve extractor issues see video:
Savage B22 & MK II Extractor Fix!!!
      th-cam.com/video/P_zkdvfJZQk/w-d-xo.html
As well as my comment on that video and the replies to my comment. Did a lot of research on various ways to reduce extraction issues in this firearm (including suggesting the assembly procedure demonstrated here by Aces and Eights Firearms).

Savage has been very little help with the extraction issue on my MKII. It took four emails to get the replacement spring, extractor and guide. I installed using your directions, which are very helpful, only to have a worse extraction issue. Now it fails on every attempt. Before it was one failure in about 10 tries. Needless to say, I am about done with this firearm.

thanks for video, my Savage 93 .22wmr has lots of fail to fire, I had run 3 different brands through it with the same results. The imprint from the firing pin on the fail/fire looks as good as the ones that do fire....any ideas? should I change out the firing pin spring and firing pin? thanks

    • @rdtaguestudios
      @rdtaguestudios  ปีที่แล้ว

I would swap out for a new FP spring, as my 1st choice.

File that extractor to a more acute angle will fix the FTE. Just 5 strokes with a file will do it.

A++ And If you will add a 2nd retaining spring clip, on top 1st retaining clip, your gun will shoot dirty . For suppressors and all ammo.
