This Is the first video on YT that has a clear how to on the installment of the Volquartsen exact edge extractor.thank you for showing me how to do this
My factory extractor flew out of the bolt while shooting on the range and I could not find it. I was lucky the spring and the other small piece were recovered. Rather than send the gun back in to the factory and wait who knows how long for repairs, I watched your video and ordered a new Volquartsen extractor. A few days later it arrived in the mail, I rewatched your installation video and installed the new one with no tools whatsover, just gently did it by hand. Took all of 30 seconds at most. Immediately loaded up a mag and the gun shot flawlessly. Your video was beyond helpful. Wish I could shake your hand in appreciation and buy you lunch!
Having a lot of fun with this rifle. Even with good ammo I get a FTE about every 1/80, Cheaper ammo 1/10. Heard the Volquartsen is the way to go but was unsure if it was something I could easily do. Suffice to say after watching this my new extractor should be here in a few days and installed about 5 minutes after opening the package thanks to you. I appreciate you!!
Just wanna let you know that 2 years later your video is still helping folks. Thanks for the upload! Did you notice immediate changes when installing it?
I try my best to read and respond to everyone's comments. And yes it was an immediate change that no rounds after the installation would jam or failure to eject.
Just received my Volquartsen replacement parts yesterday and am about to confidently replace the M&P 15-22 parts. Thank you for this timeless demonstration.
Perfect video as my friend tore off his extractor with chamber flag. I ordered the parts and with your video, had it fixed in three minutes or less. Well done and thank you.
Thank you. I just got a 2020 m&p 15-22. First time out, would not eject. I found this video, realized these pieces weren't in the bolt. Found them in the box
My youngest son got a M&P 15-22 for his birthday. First mag worked great, every mag after had numerous FTE. Put one of these on the rifle, zero FTE. It now slings the brass like a HK.
Brand new. Very first thing I did was take this thing apart..and swap out the stock extractor with the Volquartsen extractor. Using this video. Thanks, man!
Wow! ..Finally a close up video that I can see exactly how the microscopic parts are reassembled !! .... I'm ready to attempt it on my own now...lol... Thanks for making the video...
@@bradley1154 it's called an "Out of Battery" fire. It happens when the bolt isnt fully closed but the striker pin is still able to make contact with the bullets primer and allow it to fire. Great video, thanks man. I'm doing this upgrade to mine tonight. I'm jamming every 3 rounds or so. Not fun and not ok. I've read good things about the Volquartsen extractor. I also got the upgraded spring for another $2 or so....about a $15 total. I'm excited to get this done and see how she behaves. Thanks again for the great demonstration!
When my 15-22 blew up in my face, my extractor and spring flew out. Ever since then, I’ve been shooting without it. Just have to manually take out the round if I go hunt and get nothing.. lol. Now ima buy a new kit and replace!!
Thanks for the vid I just kind of dissapointed I had to get an aftermarket park to make my 15 22 more reliable especially since the gun itself has been out for 13 years I figured smith would fix the extractor I even sent mine in to smith and the same thing happened when i got it back
Thank you for this video it helped me with the process,,, I also ordered their upgraded firing pin but that process looks a little bit more involved I'll check and see if you have a tutorial for that as well
Love the attention to detail. I’ve been shooting guns for a while but i haven’t done much with the components of the actual guns so this is gonna be new to me. I heard that this is one of the best things to do for your 15-22 tho so it looks like im going to have to go for it

So what is Smith & Wesson thinking? Mine jammed on every shot out of the box. I closed the gap on the ejector and it only jammed on every fifth shot. Just replaced the extractor (thanks to this video) and haven't had a jam yet. The manufacturer knows what's wrong and they know how to fix it. So why don't they? Really disappointed in them.

This was great thank you.Just picked up this gun yesterday and also fixed the ejector gap issue.Would you know if the top edge of that ejector that I adjusted is supposed to slight rub against the bolt?
