Hi Aaron! Not sure if you remember me, but we met back at US Nats in 2014-my name is Austin Bastida Ramos. I just wanted to thank you so much for featuring my team on your channel! It has always been a dream of mine since your channel got me into VGC back in 2014. Love the video and everything you do for the community! Hope to see you at the next TX regional!
Yeah i run an espathra with the same moves on singles except i have baton pass instead of protect. People underestimate her and she becomes really hard to beat after two or three turns
@kavisharodrigo829 The Espatha I used in that match was originally made for singles ladder to get me to master ball rank for the rewards before I focus on doubles. I just loved it so much I wanted to try it in doubles. Only change I made was the item. In singles I use leftovers (I made my bird bulky) but I was worried about do Dondozo in doubles so I put a mirror herb on it instead so I could launch big stored powers into the whale
@brettsmith9772 it does have a little "singles adapted" flavor. I wonder if that's why aaron didn't think of stored power even if it was so boost centric
@Andreecals I don't think they forgot the move existed or didn't consider it a possibility. As a player on the top level they have to assume a lot about others teams and have vast game knowledge. Honestly I think they assumed my pokemon had optimal moves for the emerging meta via the tournaments that have already unofficially taken place for reg H. Do in a round about way your Hypothesis makes sense as singles and doubles are just very different monsters in how they operate. In doubles Haze is on many teams to deal with Dondozo. Even though Dondozo isn't hyper present if you aren't prepared for it you lose. Torkoal is also usually running Clear Smog for similar reasons. Thus if I was building optimally running one of the best signature moves in the game Lumina Crash would make sense as a single move could undo all the possible value Stored Power could provide. I am happy I got a W but I know if it was best 2 outta 3 or open team sheet I would have been taking the L lol.
I LOVE this new ruleset. Seeing the power level scale back quite a bit is really nice, it makes for much more team diversity and allows some mons we haven't seen do well recently really shine again. Like I love seeing Sinistcha (easily one of my favorite Pokemon from Scarlet/Violet) and Annihilape. The power level with Restricted, Paradox and Legendary mons running around was extremely high (Paradox were like legendary mons especially if they got their Proto/Quark boost). I know that they will eventually go back to having those super overpowered mons running around and even go to a double restricted format at some point but for now I'm really enjoying this scaled back power level format.
@@Ryan-gk6ko Yeah definitely a lot more pivoting and momentum based in addition to being a lot more diversified makes for more enjoyable games overall. The power level in the previous format was crazy, I can't even imagine how it's going to look when they allow the Paradox mons back in AND have two restricted mons per team. There is room for combo mons like Archaludon + Pelipper and Annihilape + Maushold to thrive in this format whereas in the previous one they just get bodied before they can even get going. They'd be outsped, take way too much damage and fold over it's not like they do enough damage in return to the stronger bulkier mons anyways. Something as common as Miraidon + Hands for example just sweeps this team. Really happy they gave us a format that allows for more diverse and creative teams, Scarlet and Violet released some incredibly fun mons and we didn't get to see many of them truly shine especially in recent months as the power level just didn't allow for them to be viable.
@Cardb33 I agree. Playing ranked at the moment is just 10 mons and 3 restricted every single game. If they go paradox plus 2 restricted I'll probably just take a break myself lol
@@Ryan-gk6ko Yeah and that's generally because with the power level there's not as much room for creativity or niche options. Team building right now usually consists of picking your restricted to build around, pick 3-4 mons to support your restricted that synergize well and can help deal with the opposing mons that give it a hard time. Then you pick another 1-2 mons that synergize well with your restricted and are capable of dishing out meaningful damage to opposing mons your restricted struggle against or in case your restricted goes down you still have more firepower. There's really only an Iron Handsful of mons that are strong enough to fill those roles when restricted mons are in the format. I don't blame you I'll probably take a break around then myself lol. I believe that when two restricted mons are paradox mons are legal in a future VGC format we're going to see the most firepower we've ever seen in VGC history to where if you lead wrong you can just lose on the spot because even the best pivots aren't taking a double up from two restricted mons. The thought of something like a Specs Miraidon plus sashed Shadow Rider lead is nauseating lol
@@Cardb33 Just throwing it out there, I borrowed this team and managed to take out a Miraidon+Hands combo with it 😁 I don't think that would happen very often, but I was pretty happy to pull it off.

Gotta give it to your opponent on the 4th battle, what good reads, one after the other! I was thinking of your paths and alternatives together with you and the opponent kept throwing smart moves i didn't predict, especially after the first turn (the dark tera smeargle was just weird).
I had a strong gut feeling it was gonna be taunted so I wanted to maximize my offense and hope it hit hard while surviving with sash to give my bird another turn to get more stat buffs. It is also Dark Tera to help with prankster taunts (the more common Taunt to encounter)
@brettsmith9772 yeah, in those situations I see the appeal, but to spend tera only to increase the damage of foulplay aggainst a deffensive special attacker seemed wasteful. I mean, you played out of your mind, just that decision was a big investment with no real pay off, and still you won, so huge props.

@@brettsmith9772 Watching that game reminded me about Mirror Herb! I am hoping to use it in this upcoming Regulation H now too. Probably on an Intimidate mon, to hedge against Defiant.
Hi! Remember me? We met at the 2024 World Championship Honolulu, and we took a picture and you signed my Tatsugiri keychain. Anyway, really clever Sinistcha team. Love the Annihilape and Maushold duo and Sinistcha healing.❤️❤️❤️
Hey Aaron! I always love watching your videos and it was a bummer not seeing you in day 2 at worlds but you did amazing nonetheless! I'm still thankful i got to celebrate in the end since fellow italian Cere managed to win it all c: Keep it up with the good content! :D
Annihilape has Drain Punch though, super effective Drain Punch in to a Tera normal Dondozo would heal up a ton and hit it really hard. Not only that but this specific Annihilape is Tera water which just makes it even more of an issue for a Tera normal Dondozo. Archaludon with Tera grass and Body Press basically walls it and 1v1's it as well lol
@@Cardb33 I run my Dondozo with Order up buffing defense (bodypress set) Drain punch does like 10% without order up buffs (with boosting nature and full investment into defense)
53:26 - Dude sees both Safety Goggles and Grass-tera on the opposing side and still opts to go for Rage Powder... Truly, his intellect is beyond my understanding...
@harleyjo4875 when I first started playing vgc I had no idea of a lot of mechanics. pokemon is a lot more complex than people who are already involved in it might think. also there's attention involved, perhaps they didn't see the item or don't know exactly how the item works (they might think it only protects from spore or something like that). learning takes a lot of practice and it's always trial and error, especially in casual ladder
This is exactly the team that I was already trying to learn myself, so it's nice to be able to watch some of your games with it. I noticed that you didn't actually use Incineroar a single time in this video though. Against which teams would you use it? Maybe it would be better to replace it with something else if you almost never use it? Also what would you do against a Glimmora Dondozo team like the ones that Emir and tyo posted on Twitter? I don't face Dondozo very often online so far but I definitely want to be ready for it at the GC and Regional.
Didn’t expect psychic noise to prevent the use of drain punch. Wow! Does heal block also work that way? I’m guessing not. Edit: Heal Block hasn’t been available since generation 8 apparently?
Yeah tbh mousape and arch is something I tried bc mous’s beat up goes well with stamina anyway bc it will max defense and arch is slower so you will end up just getting a 4x defense body press in same turn to basically ohko whatever you want assuming it’s not immune
Random comment, but I would love to see a Meowscrada team. I only started following VGC from your videos towards the end of Reg D I believe. I got to hear that the grass starter was so good in the earlier Regs but never got to see it myself. Now we're in a lower power level Reg again and I still haven't gotten a chance to see it in action.
@@DanielJParish I did see Meowscarada a few times in casual battle while practicing for Reg H. It was scary. One match it won the Damage war with my Corvinknight who wanted to set up iron Defenses to +6Def then body press. The auto crit with its signature did just enough to win that interaction at the end. (The magic cat was Terra fire and my birb did not enjoy the terra blasts lol)
That's not what the guys asking. That's where this team came from yes but Cybertron is indeed simply playing on the casual ladder and getting match up to other Reg H battlers doing the same, NOT playing in a tour.
Got very surprised you losed to that Spartha, I think he did many miss plays but at least some great reads and managed to win probably because you didn't bring Incineroar
@@zashinunes8191 My bird was made bulky and I can normally deal with with Incineroar. The usual open in Silk Trap with Smeargle protect with Espartha. Remember most Incin are safety goggles so either spore their partner or Strength Sap Incin with Smeargle while I get of the one calm mind I know I can (usually I Terra fairy Esparatha to reduce damage). That said I still don't know if I could deal with Incin run by CybertronVGC lol. Those that keep parting shot usually break through what I want to do if I didn't bring Corvaknigt and I didn't bring Corvaknight that match
@@brettsmith9772 Oh so was you?? That is cool, what was your thought process there with that Tera Dark Foul Play?? I thought about you using Tera to help against dark mons and Inci, but since you already Tera that match you didn't have much outs against it, at least you didn't have a item for them to knock off
@zashinunes8191 I had a very strong feeling my Smeargle was gonna get taunted and I wanted to maximize the damage to its only offensive move while Espathra calm minds. I was hopeful if I could get it low enough in health, I could protect with bird next turn then have the option for a base 100 power Stored power at +1 or Dazzling Gleam if it looked low enough in health. (Dark Terra is usually used against the far more common Prankster Taunt but it has helped offensively in the past with Foul Play). I like the team I'm using but it greatly struggles against hard trick room
@@brettsmith9772 When you used that Tera, I thought about it only being actually useful against Taunt Prankster users, but without Torn in this format, I don't think that's gonna be a thing anymore, Whism barely uses taunt, so this Tera would've been useless now, even if you get more damage with the Tera is not worth it, I think that was a miss play, you should've saved Tera for Espartha, in case Cybertron had Inci in the back, or even against a possible Rage Fist of Ape, at least for you not going for Tera even without the option, you quadrupled resisted the Body Press from Archaludon which was huge When you started setupping I knew for a fact you're gonna use Stored Power. So one thing I didn't get about your set, is the reason behind the Mirror Herb, is for something in specific? Because if you don't have Swagger or something that option feels random and unconsistent Also your gut feeling was incredible, didn't like the Tera on that turn, but the fact you attacked predicting the taunt was amazing, you also did great reads on the late game, very impressive. So what's your Smeargles set? Your set whatever it was looks cool, but I honestly prefer the standard set with Fake Out, Wide Guard/ Follow Me, Decorate, Spore, I don't know if you had Decorate, but Decorate with Stored Power feels amazing You could use Fake Out on Maushould on that turn, I always think is not likely for the opponent not spend Tera to avoid fake out for example, since it's only useful in one turn and that's it and it's no guarantee it's gonna work, it's a gamble people usually go for when if got right gives a huge advantage in the match So talking about Smeargle again, I loved using Magic Coat on it, to avoid Taunt, however for some reason in this gen they apparently deleted the move, so it's very hard to avoid it now, you kinda need to rely on priority to avoid it
Sorry for the huge text, also sorry for the grammar mistakes, I really like seeing uncommon mons and stuff, so it's cool for me to talk about it, and understand your thought process etc
thanks again for this awesome video! do you think this team will be good long term in Reg H? i don't play VGC consistently so being able to prepare a team early to pick up every little bit would be awesome!
With all the stat changes moves, can topsy-turvy contrary malamar be viable against dozo, annihilape, archaludon, or intimidate users? It can work under tailwind, can reverse trick room, double screens, reverts stat buffs. Is it too much cooking or am I missing something? Would it work or it's a just a gimmick?
@brettsmith9772 oh! they're a youtuber who always try to make crazy/gimmick strats happen lol also a lot of their success on battles rely on reads and just being really good most of their teams aren't viable competitively, but they're really fun and can surprise people on ranked! not very active lately, but worth cheking
Hey man, I've been wondering if it's possible to make a full stall VGC reg H team. I'm not super good at this game, but I've been getting okay results with incin, toxapex, amoongus, minecraft donkey kong, chansey and grimmsnarl. I'd love to see you trying out a team of the sort and seeing if it's viable at high ranks
u never brought incineroar to a battle, meaning there is probably a better 6th pokemon for this team Edit: Its scope lens, focus energy hydregon it seems

I'm still thankful i got to celebrate in the end since fellow italian Cere managed to win it all c:
Keep it up with the good content! :D
I think one of the slept on combos is torkoal and Charizard. Solar power+Specs+Double stab heat wave in the sun.
*slaps roof of Sinistcha*
This bad boy can fit so much recovery
Tera normal Dondozo with Unaware is a really nice wall for Annihilape and Archaludon
@@Cardb33 I run my Dondozo with Order up buffing defense (bodypress set)
Drain punch does like 10% without order up buffs (with boosting nature and full investment into defense)
53:26 - Dude sees both Safety Goggles and Grass-tera on the opposing side and still opts to go for Rage Powder... Truly, his intellect is beyond my understanding...
not ranked ladder yet, so you may run into ppl with no ev training, no previous vgc experience etc
@@lucaless6434there’s a difference between giving someone the benefit of the doubt and someone not understanding how Pokémon works.
He was thinking they might switch but then again who switch when you have such good setup lol
“😀…hey guys!” loved the intro 😂
Shiny Politoad is super cute 😍
I nicknamed it I
This is exactly the team that I was already trying to learn myself, so it's nice to be able to watch some of your games with it.
Annihilape + Maushold = Deadmau5 😵
i think in the last game that x-scissor one shot with the crit because kleavor has sharpness!
Can’t wait for preparation H!
Didn’t expect psychic noise to prevent the use of drain punch. Wow! Does heal block also work that way? I’m guessing not.
Edit: Heal Block hasn’t been available since generation 8 apparently?
I love watching win of course but man is it fun watching you lose to wacky teams
Hell yeah I love my spooky lil guys
man aaron got COOKED in game 4
Aaaaaaaron, i wanna see a worlds recap 😢❤
!!MEGANIUM MENTIONED!!
Awesome, thanks!
Yeah tbh mousape and arch is something I tried bc mous’s beat up goes well with stamina anyway bc it will max defense and arch is slower so you will end up just getting a 4x defense body press in same turn to basically ohko whatever you want assuming it’s not immune
Background changes more than his haircut (all love)
I wonder if Ursaluna in game1 was assault vested, hence moonblast and no protect.
Would love to see a video where u talk about your worlds run. :)
Goat
Thanks 🎉
I thought Reg H didn't start until september? Is this just unranked battles that happen to be against opponents also using Reg H teams?
It's a grassroots tournament... So yes, the event organizer (himmy Turner) sets up the tournament with everyone knowing that it is a reg H tourney
That's not what the guys asking. That's where this team came from yes but Cybertron is indeed simply playing on the casual ladder and getting match up to other Reg H battlers doing the same, NOT playing in a tour.
55:40 Why is every Pokemon from Gen 2?😂
Sinistcha aka Matcha Man leta go!
@@brettsmith9772 When you used that Tera, I thought about it only being actually useful against Taunt Prankster users, but without Torn in this format, I don't think that's gonna be a thing anymore, Whism barely uses taunt, so this Tera would've been useless now, even if you get more damage with the Tera is not worth it, I think that was a miss play, you should've saved Tera for Espartha, in case Cybertron had Inci in the back, or even against a possible Rage Fist of Ape, at least for you not going for Tera even without the option, you quadrupled resisted the Body Press from Archaludon which was huge
When you started setupping I knew for a fact you're gonna use Stored Power. So one thing I didn't get about your set, is the reason behind the Mirror Herb, is for something in specific? Because if you don't have Swagger or something that option feels random and unconsistent
Also your gut feeling was incredible, didn't like the Tera on that turn, but the fact you attacked predicting the taunt was amazing, you also did great reads on the late game, very impressive. So what's your Smeargles set?
Your set whatever it was looks cool, but I honestly prefer the standard set with Fake Out, Wide Guard/ Follow Me, Decorate, Spore, I don't know if you had Decorate, but Decorate with Stored Power feels amazing
You could use Fake Out on Maushould on that turn, I always think is not likely for the opponent not spend Tera to avoid fake out for example, since it's only useful in one turn and that's it and it's no guarantee it's gonna work, it's a gamble people usually go for when if got right gives a huge advantage in the match
So talking about Smeargle again, I loved using Magic Coat on it, to avoid Taunt, however for some reason in this gen they apparently deleted the move, so it's very hard to avoid it now, you kinda need to rely on priority to avoid it
Sorry for the huge text, also sorry for the grammar mistakes, I really like seeing uncommon mons and stuff, so it's cool for me to talk about it, and understand your thought process etc
They should give Meganium Drought as an ability.
You sure sinistcha won a huge reg H tournament and not MausArchApe Combo? lol.
thanks again for this awesome video! do you think this team will be good long term in Reg H? i don't play VGC consistently so being able to prepare a team early to pick up every little bit would be awesome!
HES WEARING THE SHIRT
With all the stat changes moves, can topsy-turvy contrary malamar be viable against dozo, annihilape, archaludon, or intimidate users? It can work under tailwind, can reverse trick room, double screens, reverts stat buffs. Is it too much cooking or am I missing something? Would it work or it's a just a gimmick?
Why does the maushold have attack evs if its only attack is beat up?
First u got me into vgc in 2014 and still here ;
Brett Smith is definitely a weedletwineedle fan
@@lucaless6434 Not currently. Tell me more!
@brettsmith9772 oh! they're a youtuber who always try to make crazy/gimmick strats happen lol
also a lot of their success on battles rely on reads and just being really good
most of their teams aren't viable competitively, but they're really fun and can surprise people on ranked!
not very active lately, but worth cheking
haydunn also does try out a lot of things, but he only plays singles OU, if you're ever interested in that, also worth cheking 😉 @@brettsmith9772
Any ideas for the 4 attack Evs on Maus? For any beat up calcs?
For game 7, when sinistea first switched in, would it have made more sense to reverse trick room?
Would you consider live streaming some ladder battles soon?
Noob question, but doesn't Regulation H not start until September 1st? How are you playing against other people using Regulation H and not G?
Casual battles, most people playing there are using Reg H teams!
Also, thoughts on tera ghost blissey to handle archaludon?
Saw a cool related team on showdown today they were running peli, sinistcha and grim wrih dual screens, kinda makes arch unkillable
u never brought incineroar to a battle, meaning there is probably a better 6th pokemon for this team
Edit: Its scope lens, focus energy hydregon it seems
56:10 THIS IS NOT A DRILL, THE MEGANIUM HAS HIT THE FIELD
Can you explain why annihilape is tera water instead of fire or steel
I want to meet Aaron someday, If only I had the spectator pass and enough cash-
How do you battle in other regulations and have a ranking?
😍
Isnt regulation H ingame releasing on sept 1st? Is there smth Im missing? been out of the loop for a while, read up on it and it stated Sept. 1st.
Does anyone know how to beat Psyspam with this team? It’s the only thing I struggle against
Can anybody explain why Beat up is doing so little damage? Even on low attack mons 1 hp of damage seems ridiculously low
Reason for 4 attack evs on Maushold?
The frist match talonflame was level 47
Im pretty sure that if Annihilape switches out it doesnt loose the Rage Fist stacks
My question of the day is, where is the question of the day?
Game 6 is an all Gen 2 team?
Comment for the algorithm
