    good result. i worry about the knife thing though. there's a tool called a seam ripper that makes this process easier and safer. it's a little hook that rips thru threads.

    If you absolutely must remove the logo, I would suggest going at it from the inside of the hat. If you just slice the stitches down the middle, it turns them into individual loops. Once that is done, you should be able to pull the threads out through the front with relative ease. I am assuming the embroidered logo is the same as any other embroidery (like a name) you wish to remove. This method also reduces the chances of messing up the hat itself (snags, etc.).

    • @piper2381
      @piper2381  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about the inside because there's fabric covering it (linen), and since it's a hat I don't want to distort the shape

      @@chaii_latte seriously, and it's actually called a 'seam ripper'. Been doing it for 40 years, but doesn't even know the correct name for it lol. But jokes aside, it is way easier honestly. Got a kit from Amazon for $8. Came with 4 of them- 2 large, 2 small, and some kinda pairing knife/scissor combo tool. Well worth it.

  • @wpreston86

    I would use a seam ripper instead of a knife and also I would work on the inside of the hat rather than the outside, so any pilling will not be visible when the hat is worn. Also putting a little water on the holes from the stitching will help the holes close up a little bit.

    • @piper2381

      +Daniel Lindner It depends on how complex the embroidery is. I don't mess around with the front of the logo because it's attached to the buckram (the stiff threads inside of the hat). ***** yea i respect that and i didnt wanted to offend you bt i dont get it lol its like you buy a icecream with vanilla sauce and u dont eat the sauce :D

    • @piper2381
      @piper2381  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ApolloArtworks™ | Ben B. Oh no worries, I know what you meant. I just find that after years of collecting various things, I just chose to collect only the things I like. I just happen to think wool fitteds from the early 2000's were the best. So if I'm able to resemble that era, then I'm going to do it. So since the New Era logo wasn't there on the on-fields years ago, I'd rather remove. Compared to a Starter hat from the early 90's, I loved their logo on the back of snapbacks.

    • @VisionIV
      @VisionIV 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      okay then, one more question:
      if you ever wanna sell some rare caps, how are yo gonna do that? people will think its fake?
      thanks for answering by the way :)

    • @piper2381
      @piper2381  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +ApolloArtworks™ | Ben B. I hardly sell anything. Selling is too much of a hassle; I usually donate the stuff I no longer need. If someone thinks my stuff is fake, then it's their loss.

    That’s kinda crazy or stupid on removing the NE logo. It messes up the cap. The only reason on why I buy the cap because of the NE brand name logo on the side of the cap.

    • @raycannister4231
      @raycannister4231 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Are you serious? That seems even crazier to buy a cap because of a corporate logo on the side. Old school caps, including New Era, didn't used to have corporate logos on the side and not everyone wants to go around advertising who made the cap. Some of us buy New Era caps primary for the comfort or quality and don't want an ugly logo on the side that advertises New Era.
