This is why I like Gordon. He ADMITS when he's shit at something and actually tries to learn from people who know more about something than he does. It's probably why he gets so pissed off with people who come into his kitchen thinking they know everything.
Jay C That's what people don't realise about the guys at whom he screams. They're bad, and when he tries to show them, they simply don't care. They're like "Nah, you're just mad I can cook better than you", but he really is trying to help them. That's why I like Master Chef better than Hell's Kitchen.
Jay C And this, guys, is the way to end up with 14 Michelin stars.
+Jay C Oath.
+Melquisedec Alvarado (MelAlvarado) I think he acts like an asshole to break all the bad habits and build some new solid foundations for those people, especially when they aren't willing to give up on those bad habits. People mistake him acting like an asshole with him genuinely being one. But sometimes it's the only way you can get through to people.
Word I've notice that too he gets pissed of because your their to learn from him but you acted like you already know even thou your doing it completely wrong.
0:02 - 0:08 few seconds in and I'm laughing at how many times he uses the same hand gestures.

2:34 Gordan Ramsay talks about how it's so hot. Chef casually sticks hand into the heated thing
The best thing about him in my opinion is when he is teaching he takes the role of a teacher no matter what, but when he is learning he is so modest and ready to accept his shortcoming. He doesn't go "I am a good chef and I don't need anyone telling me otherwise"
Always good to see Ramsey constantly broadening his skills
you never stop learning ;)
What he does everyone should be doing with their everyday jobs and careers keep learning its the only way to feel better about what you do.
Yes! I love how humble he can be and always willing to learn new cooking skills and techniques. Kudos to Gordon!
HelenaVanCity exactly! if he has one redeeming quality for being a jerk to everyone its this! gotta love him
Brodo Swaggins He isn't a jerk, he is a professional and a perfectionist in the kitchen. He pushes all those self-proclaimed "chefs" to the limit to help them thrive. I was taught the same way as a teacher and translator. You can argue how "humane" this method of teaching is, but it certainly pays off, if you're willing to learn. :)
I was waiting for the other chef to yell at Gordon and say: "You fucking donkey! That bread is fucking RAW!"

Temperature in that oven is around 400 degrees, meat cooks in minutes
2:20 - is it hot?
2:20 is it hot?
nah, its just a chill 400 degrees Celsius
+TheShockerKnocker I don't think so coz Gordon said in the begining that he was in london so........ yeah they use celsius there and not farenheight. As a matter of fact no one uses farenheight except U.S.A
+TheShockerKnocker How hot is 400C (about 750F)? LOL you obviously have no idea about cooking, so do your dam research. I'm not even gonna go on about the fact that this isnt filmed in US.
400F is wayyyy too cold to cook skewers. You'd be baking the meat instead of grilling it, it'll be overcooked well before it even char. When you use charcoal to grill meat, the temperature reaches well over 700F.
As for nan bread, let's make a comparison with thin crust pizza. Do you know how hot a brick oven is? Some brick ovens used for thin crust pizza are over 1000F!
In conclusion, a 400F oven would be ideal for relatively slow cooking method (like roasting a large piece of meat, or potatoes). But grilling? Enjoy your rubbery meat lol.
Sarcasm... learn about it.
+chateae Was about to have to do some corrections, but you handled it. He most certainly meant Celsius. 400 F wouldn't be hot enough to char anything in 1-10 minutes alone. It takes 15-20 minutes just for a frozen pizza to melt and get hot in a 400 F oven.
Plasmal Can't switch now. Education has committed.

I love seeing Gordan learn how to make different types of food as it shows how even him, being a world renowned chef, doesn't know how to make everything perfectly. It shows that even the best of people, can still learn lots more. He's a true inspiration.
"Every master was once a beginner."
Love the fact he doesnt always make himself look great, he openly admits a that hes bad, showing hes not arrogant. Gotta love a bit of ramsey.
I like seeing Ramsay getting schooled :) Sign of truly great master - no matter how skilled you are, there's always something to learn.

I just love the student ramsey! He has no ego. I am trying to learn from him actually! Great chef
LOL! No ego? You must be mad.
2:34 "Ahh, shit it's too hot", the helper proceeds to stick his hand in there to take out the bread LOL
Made Ramsey look like a huge pussy lol
That's not the helper, that's Chef Jazz but I do agree with your statement. It's weird, Ramsay should have more experienced than Jazz so sticking his hand in that oven should be no problem.
StumblingBlock1
I feel like it's an issue of self preservation. I get the feeling that that man would sooner hurt his hand than create an accident.
Emidretrauqe
I don't think so.. If you watched the video again, Jazz effortlessly reached down the tandoor. I mean, no one's stupid enough to just put their hand in a very hot oven unless they know what they're doing like Jazz, right?
StumblingBlock1
You'd be surprised how many working men will work actually work themselves to blood, bruises, or in this case, burns. Typically the types who do are so committed to not looking like a pussy or lazy, so much so that they eventually just develop a martyrdom complex before actually changing their lifestyle. But that's normally with the more chronic cases. It's more likely this guy's more tolerant to heat _and_ is showing off for the camera.

i heard indians are used to the heat
Richard Sun Asians are very used to the heat.
Yeah it's weird to me too. I've been around a lot of kitchens / chefs ( asian ) and they seem to be a lot more tolerable about the heat.. Probably because they're use to it.
lol
***** Is that C or F?
I see people here going "if anybody had been this bad in front of Ramsay he'd have flipped out"... No.
The reason he flips out in his shows is because it is people claiming they know how to cook, and then proceed to fuck it up. If somebody came to Ramsay and went "Can you teach me how to cook this?" he wouldn't flip his shit.
A cooking master who is humble and not afraid to fumble on camera. Awesome!
I love how all the shit he gives himself is the same shit he gives other people. A man who can dish and take it at the same time. A REAL chef

This is what a like about Gordon Ramsay. He’s not afraid of being the learner again. A lot of masters are scared of appearing like they don’t know everything.
"I think the vindaloo is gonna hit the fan". What a man.
0:25 get rejected!!!!
he was introducing the other guy
Everyone's making fun of Gordon because he has no idea what he's doing and is using new cooking techniques than what he's use to but I think it's great that as well known as he is he will still let people who aren't well known teach him new skills and he'll show himself having trouble getting the hang of something new.
+Cheeses Heist 😂That's my favorite line of his!
That's just the American version of his shows. Everything over seas is way more calm and tame, and he only yelled at them if it was justified. Like, almost killing some one.
No, they are making fun of him because he is the Donald Trump of cooking. The most impatient and arrogant chef out there.
I wish the Indian chef went all out Ramsey and screamed his lungs out at Gordon for his failures, just so that he'd get a bit of his own medicine and maybe learn a thing or two about patience and humility.
+reality check he's too nice to be Donald Trump.
Patience and humility? The fuck are you talking about? Ramsey rarely if ever raises his voice to anyone he thinks he isn't justified in screaming to. The people he addresses in such a way tend to be people that SHOULD KNOW What they are doing. Actually see his Kitchen Nightmare episodes, there are times he can't say anything to the cooks who aren't bad, but have no say on the plates that are the problem. There's even that one episode where he's regarding a server very amicably since no fault rests on her, and since she's even servile enough to give him honest thoughts on the plates. Fuck, just search how many times he acts his ''usual'' angery self around the kids in his other show, or how many times he doesn't congratulate a dish he honestly thinks is well done. If you are gonna judge someone, get a damned clue before spewing uninformed blabber. Undercooked meat or even raw chicken in a renowed kitchen, horrible preservation and sanitary precautions in a restaurant? Yes, these people don't deserve one bit of whatever Ramsey shoots their way, but he should get chewed out for intentionally trying his hand at something he knows, and the chef knows, he's got zero experience and knowledge at.

Goes to show exactly what happens at your local Indian takeaway. It's a wonderful cuisine we are blessed to have so many of in the uk
I love how humble Ramsey is
This is why he is one of the top respected Chefs in the world.
gottfer No because he genuinely wants to learn more about cooking, constantly trying to improve himself. All the dramatic hell's kitchen stuff is just to feed the usa with more scripted drama.
Because he is, at this kind of cooking anyway. Just because your a 3 Star or even 5 star chef, doesnt mean you know EVERYTHING there is to know about cooking, and it doesnt mean you know how to cook every little thing in the world. However, Gordon is a 3 Star Chef and he is still trying to learn new things, by going all around the world. Have you seen the video on his channel of him diving in ICE Water, trying to catch fish? The water is really freezing with ice on the top of the water. He even says if he stays down to long he can get Hypothermia. Now is that scripted??
gottfer A lot of the stuff is scripted to make his shows more dramatic, but have you actually eaten at one of his restaurants? I don't know how you can call him overrated when he has a three michelin star restaurant. He IS one of the most respected chefs in the world. Just because he is mainstream does not make him overrated.
