In 1526 The Wattasid Dynasty that ruled Fez recognised Ottoman rule this is confirmed by historians Eric Wenzel and Stephane Durand. In 1576 8,000 Turks completely crushed 30,000 Moroccans in the Battle of Fez and colonised Fez and Marrakesh. Morocco was then an Ottoman vassal for more than 50 years even Abd al-Malik was called Slave of the Great Turk in his letters 🤣🤣

@@fenugreekqueen6805 You are really stretching the meaning of cultural influence. If you want it that loose then it's too easy, you could just keep piling up influences from one country to the other. By your standard, what country has not been influenced by another. I disagree you with you. You criteria are too superficial. Language, architecture, dress, music, folkore and food in the way it's prepared and eaten counts as culture. Not a couple of imports. If I use your definition then China has influenced morrocan culture and cuisine much more than Persia and the Ottomans. And then there is the issue of who and what influenced the Persians and Ottomans. Again nothing against our Persian and Turkish brothers but their legacy in Morocco is really weak.

Here in the UK if they want to sell certain foods they stick Moroccan on it. All shops here for example sell Moroccan Fallafel. We do not have Fallafel in Morocco and there is nothing Moroccan about Fallafel. By the way I am not arrogant it is a fact.
