I trained 2014 in Paris with Mr. Suska an Mr Doulay (both 6. dan). It was an awesome, hard but a very special experience. Will never forget it. Thx a lot for those 2 days!!!
Watching this man is mesmerising; his movements stick in my mind to the point where it's helps me get through my patterns/gradings. Really helpful video's. Thank you.
My opinion of Jaroslaw Suska in general is that he demonstrates both an awesome physical ability and a deep technical understanding of Taekwon-do. The depth of understanding is something that you would no doubt expect from someone who has graded to 5th Degree, but the physical ability is undoubtedly a gift that he is lucky to have. He also appears to work extremely hard at sharing his knowledge of the art with others and his video's have helped me enormously in recent months.
Yay I got my black tag for my red belt on Sunday thanks to Suska!!! I thought choong moo was hard but I enjoy it I passed my grading I am very happy now tyvm
This man is amazing at taekwondo and it's very hard to do I learnt from experience so please don't hate he has put time into this to help those who would like it
this guys amazing, great technique and style had my 1st taekwon-do lesson today and its was AWESOME!!! looking forward to more and being as good as, or maybe even better, than Jaroslav......though the journey maybe long
taekwondodudeyaw: To call the TAGB an insult to the ITF is unnecessarily confrontational. I started my TKD career many years ago in the TAGB and still feel that they are a very professional organisation with some very talented TKD practitioners. I now train with what I consider to be a true-ITF style school and can see the limitations of the TAGB style, but that doesn't change the fact that what the TAGB teach has its own merit and is often delivered by quality instructors. Show some respect!
Finally and specifically about THIS execution of Toi-Gye, is that while it is certainly exceptional, it is also flawed. This is not a criticism (because it's significantly better than my own execution), but demonstrates something that is inherent in all of us. We are all flawed! While there is nothing wrong in the pursuit of perfection, we must all accept that we will NEVER achieve it. At 53s, on move 28 (Back Fist Side Back Strike + Low Section Outer Forearm Block) he fails to look backwards.
The purpose of looking to the rear is purely practical. You don't MAINTAIN the rear facing direction with the head, because the primary block in that technique is the low section outer forearm block, but in order to strike an opponent behind using this technique, you HAVE to look. So what we teach is that during the execution of this technique you should look back briefly, then end the technique facing forward.
it's called sine wave. ITF students are taught to include sine wave in every movement, unless told otherwise. Genral Choi includes it in the theory of power. And thta's why you do every movement with SINE WAVE!!!! NOT LIKE A FRIGGIN ROBOT!!!
@mrrightnow9 He did more than just combining tae kyon and karate, he added lots of new techniques and other stuff, like the sine wave. Taekwon Do is only inspired by those martial arts.
Have none of you realized that you're in an entirely circular argument. Capnpoopy likely thinks he's right because that's how he's been taught. It doesn't matter that what he's been taught is incorrect, because his belief has rationale (albeit, rationale that is not rooted in true Taekwon-do and it's theory of power) and as such, he needs to be convinced, not attacked. The most disappointing thing on display in this thread is the COMPLETE lack of understanding of the 5 Tenets of Taekwon-do.
Sorry man the tul's are, for sure imaginary fight you're not wrong on it, but there is other meanings to do tul's concentration, focus, breathing, for exemple. if he is doing this tul at this speed, maybe it's because he is showing the tool and not applying it. I'm a 3º gup by the way
Wholeheartedly disagree with you here. It's wrong to say that a junior grade cannot critique a senior grade's execution of pattern that is within scope of the junior grade. It would be unwise to critique his Ul-Ji for example, unless you were at least a 4th Degree, but you should not be afraid to offer constructive criticism on a pattern that you have also earned the right to practice. Always do so with COURTESY however, which is a quality that is sorely lacking in a number of people on here!
Suska is a legend and Tuls have slowed down over the years but i think that they've become too slow, slow patterns look nicer but sometimes the gap between moves is too large (personal opinion). There is a happy meduim, i certainly do not advocate fast patterns or even a return to the 'old' speed of patterns but not this slow. AND CAN WE STOP SPLITTING HAIRS ABOUT THE TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF PATTERNS, IT'S DISRESPECTFUL !!!! STOP IT !!!! I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT THAT TAEKWONDO and by definition martial arts IS FOR EVERYONE, LARGE OR SKINNY, SHORT OR TALL, ABLE BODIED OR DISABLED YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES !!!!!! PEOPLE ARE FAR FAR MORE BRAVE ONLINE THAN IN PERSON & THIS EQUALS COWARDICE. Comment respectfully on youtube videos please.

Me ayudó bastante porque hace poco rendi
Just as an observation, there was definitely no look in the direction before, during or after the back fist. Great video.
