In this Sensible Transfers series, we take a look at some of the biggest teams and suggest players that can fill the holes in their squad.
Jose Mourinho will be starting his first pre-season as AS Roma manager. Mourinho has developed a reputation for playing a distinctive style of football. A style that revolves around an all-action powerhouse striker. Whilst at Roma he arrives with one ready-made in Edin Dzeko, the Bosnian is 35. So Jose and Roma should be on the lookout for a younger replacement with more longevity.
Tifo has three suggestions for a Sensible Transfer.

Another W for Tifo, Abraham will grow a lot under Mourinho, decent move for Roma as well. My only regret with this channel is that I didn’t find it sooner, much love guys.

Roma is such a good move for Jose...he's perfect for Italian football and the current landscape of Juve and Inter struggling means there's a power vacuum he could occupy in the way Simeone did with Atleti

Eldor shimurodov will be good for roma. he can play both striker and 'R or L' winger. Nxt summer we can buy one good striker who can score lots of goals. Right now team need xhaka and one decent striker.

Jose mourinho is ready. This is by far his best pre season so far in years and people say pre season don't matter much well it does. I remember in 2018 he had an awful pre season with united on many aspects and that killed the season same with Chelsea 2015

Abraham would disappear against italian defenses: i would prefer Icardi as a pure goal scorer, Belotti as a fighter or Thuram as a hopeful bet

Nah, Abraham is quite raw but with the right coaching and Mourinho is certainly capable of that, he can be a top quality striker. His goal scoring prowess in particular is exceptional.

i like zaniolo as attacking midfielder, i would want him to sign gabriel barbosa, richarlison, and of course diego carlos. eggestein from germany and locatelli would be good in midfield. I would want to see Pavon from argentina as winger for roma. it would be a dream to see richarlison and pavon as a partner in wings

I'd want Marcus Thuram to move to Liverpool. Could be a good option them up front or more likely as wing cover. Wouldn't imagine him minding not starting every game under Klopp and just seems to make perfect sense, to me at least.
Can't see Jose going for Tammy. Completely agree with you on Woghurst, he's literally a perfect fit and the age Mourinho' likes. Entertaining watch as always!

I hope carles perez gets to show his talent under mourinho, imo an underrated player who showed great skill at valladolid and barcelona, and when called upon, has so far been a useful player at roma. I would hate for a skillful player like him to be wasted under a new coach.

Abraham is a bit risky, but could really potentially pay off
What do you guys think of Paul Onuachu of Genk? He exploded last season with 29 goals in 31 starts, and is humongous (2.02 m). He's a pretty big risk at 27 while still playing in the Belgium League, and lacks creative spark, but he's hardworking in the press and I think he can replicate the same kind of form under Mourinho + the creative assets Roma has, or any other team looking for a big striker who presses like Tottenham if Kane leaves or Southampton. Affordable too (valued at 20m by Transfermarkt)

They did to tighten up their defense and get a more creative midfielder in the team before considering forwards. The forwards are not the problem for Roma.

Dzeko but younger is Milik. Abraham is joke, Roma's team is a conglomerate of youth who make junior mistakes and fluctuations in form, and very old players who, due to injuries, have fluctuations in form. Roma needs stabilization in the squad, players who will bring experience and quality, that's why they bought Patricio and Xhaka. They can't afford a bad transfer anymore. Better alternative to Thuram is Origi, I think. He can play on the left wing too.
Only the problem is that Jose has never looked for such forwards, there have always been strong 9 in his teams. Inter exception, but when it was, besides having Eto'o and Milito easier to make an exception in his philosophy.

Could Kasper Dolberg of OGC Nice be an option? He had an excellent euros, and if you look at some of his goals from Ajax, he looks both clinical and an excellent build-up player.
