Video Games in general sparked my love of creativity. Mainly my love of stories, how they can vary, how differently they can be told, etc. Though I certainly have gained a love for creativity in general. To call so many things a form of art feels to me, a way of underselling so much. To call all those things, works of creativity, truly sells them. A drawing is not just a collection of colors. A book is not just a collection of words. A picture is formed from ideas that were birthed in a human mind, and put into visible form. A book is written from ideas that were also birthed in a human mind, put into readable form.
We put pieces of ourselves in what we make. Whether it be writing, drawing, coding, building, and oh so much more, there will always be pieces of us involved in creation. Whether it's visibly there, or not.

Halo didn't give you quite as deep a connection to the characters as most of these games, but after playing through three games, each time overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds but losing the few characters you did get to know by the end, you really earn that "Humanity, fuck yeah!" feeling when the war is finally over. And seeing the little 117 scratched into the monument at the end was enough to crystalize all those emotions of loss and triumph at the very end.

RDR2 is possibly one of the greatest stories (not video game), but stories of this century. The protagonist (an antihero) is so flawed and human in his ways that we can all relate to him (and I mean no disrespect, but believe men relate to him better). He’s a man’s man; strong, tough, loving, caring, and flawed to the core looking to make some good in the world after all his sins…

Video games aren’t just games, they’re stories. They’re stories that we can be a part of. They’re stories we can have an effect on. Video games have changed peoples’ lives and yet they’re still to blame for violence. Video games are an escape from the real world. They allow us to be our true selves. Video games aren’t to blame, but to give good credit to. Video games are stories, amazing stories, and nothing can change my mind.

@@qc6265 Sorry man, but I have to disagree. Nothing wrong with showing your opinion, but go check out the very opening of God of War 2018, go back to God of War Chains of Olympus and find Kratos reuniting with Calliope, his daughter, only to lose her again.
God of War: Ghost of Sparta has Kratos discovering the fate of his mother as she has been transformed into a monster and is forced to kill her to put her out of her suffering, and then finds the fate of his brother, and just when he thought he could save him, now has to bury him.
God of War Ascension shows us of what happened to Kratos as he was held by the Furies, and was able to escape because of their son, Orkos, who was pretty much the only friend he ever made in the series. Only for him to have to kill him at Orkos' own request so that he could be sure his friend would live free.
God of War 3 has him as an already bitter man in the face of much loss, and yet even then, he still has something to lose with Pandora, the daughter of Hephaestus as she sacrifices herself to open the box and give him the power of Hope, even if he tries to keep her away to save her.
And finally, his redemption in God of War Ragnarok. After so much suffering and failure, this man was finally able to save his family.
God of War is a modern tragedy of their rendition of Kratos; a man who has lost it all, and tasted the most bitter of lows, and before eventually, finding forgiveness for his own sins, a path better than the one he made.
