Gonna have to start following this build, here cause the race you did with Freshkicks. I have an 8v S3, just went to a stage 2 full e85 tune, would love to get an IS38Hybrid turbo in some day. This car is badass man, VERY tastefully modded

What clutch are you running atm? I got a mk7 that needs a clutch soon. Saw you ran the sachs clutch on your mk7 and was wondering if you went a different route with the mk7.5.

The titanium one is the way to go they're lighter will never rust sound the best and don't cost a whole lot

Hey man been watching you vids for a while and they’ve been great . I have a 19 GTI as well and run e85, have u had issues with your continental injectors blowing the Teflon seals? I’ve replaced two and finally went to the older bosch from the 2017 and earlier gtis.
It’s your tune
The continental injectors have been known to prematurely fail especially when running e85. You should be good with Bosch injectors. And no, a tune has nothing to do with blowing Teflon seals

in your opinion, would you consider a 400whp vortex std on 93 reliable for a daily? I bet it'd be fine as a weekend car but worried for a daily. Or am i better off going is38. No E in my area, 93 is my only option.
If you’re not beating on it after every red light, it would be reliable like a stock car. More headroom on the vortex if you decide to add e85 later.
Why did you opt for the XL instead of the Typhoon that they just came out with?
Typhoon is much larger and is really only for built engines
So 26psi making 320 hp on my 1.8 polo with gt2260 isn’t bad ? I’m just getting into euros and when I heard it was running 26psi my heart dropped lol

I've been watching you're videos for a while now, love the content , love the car! i sold my Audi, which was the 2nd car we had in the household. loved that car but need another canyon carver, weekend car and was thinking of going back to my roots and buying another GTI (GTI was the first car i ever had). i wanted to ask how is reliability with the mods because i def will be modding mine and also am consiuding a 20-21 GTI with the DSG. Any experience with the DSG, how much TQ it can handle etc. thank you :) keep uip the amazing work!
Reliability with mods isn’t bad. Don’t worry about the dsg tq, it can handle more than the engine

So now having the XL for a while now, are you happy, or would you have made the leap further up or is this as big as you would go on stock motor? If you control TQ you can make even more HP safely (traction may be the downside).
I enjoy my current setup. Good balance between hp and spool.

Maintenance will depend on mileage but oil changes, spark plugs, etc is always a good idea after purchasing

At the moment I’m running the is38 with E50 on my GTI I’m thinking of getting the EQT XL is it mandatory to get the Lpfp mpi or can I just the XL get a tune and latter get the Lpfp and mpi
You might be able to tune without, but the turbo will be limited since you didn’t upgrade fueling. So it all depends if you’re okay with that.

How’s the ride quality and comfort compared to something like an older 2014 Audi A3 1.8 with S-line suspension ?
Can’t comment on the Audi but this golf drives smooth enough to daily, with stiff enough handling characteristics when going on the twisties. Coilovers would make it more aggressive on stiffness if need-be.

Are you on stock fueling? I went with APR stage 3 is38, suppose to be 400hp at the crank. I've not yet upgraded any fueling. (Injectors, fuel pump)
To run full E85 you NEED fuel upgrades.

Hey so I have a mk7 gti. I'm guessing your 4 inch downpipe is from Trackslag. I have a couple questions. Do you see any faster spool time? Also does it come catless or is it catted. Is there a big difference in sound or not so much. I'm also going to guess you can probably get pops and crackles without a tune. Love your car.

You don’t but it doesn’t hurt to have one
is the hybrid golf is20 turbo better or is the regular is38 better?
Hybrid will take a bit longer to spool but holds the psi better in higher rpm’s

Why swap the whole turbo? Cheaper and easier to just swap the housing. Only took me a few hours.

Lot of ppl who track uses them. Usually oem can handle the straights.
