Hello.... i'm 37 years old and have grown up believing i can't draw/paint even a mango!! Till i stumbled upon watercolour painting about a month back. I tried your poppy field painting, and with your clear crisp instructions, was able to create something i was actually proud of. Much to improve, of course, but for now am so happy to have found your video/s
Hello, I am 73 years old and just found you and love your paintings and your amazing instructions how to paint, what to use, I am trying to learn watercolor, thank you Mr. Paul Clark. This poppy field will be mine first painting. Thank you
Thank you for wonderful and thoughtful tutorial. It is so hard to find a tutorial with pleasant music that is not overpowering, and without speeded up sections that make viewers nauseated. What a pleasant positive experience. Gorgeous artwork. Very detailed explanations.
I took a class at the Senior center a couple of years ago and fell in love with water color. It was a joy to see you doing things that I'm beginning to stumble on to on my own. But watching them done expertly is amazing. Thank you. I'll be back.
I’ve only been painting for a short while and find that waiting for the art to dry makes it so much better. But it’s hard to wait, I love your art and as everybody says you make it look so easy. I’ve only been doing it for about a month or so and I need a lot of help
My brother and I (we're both in our 70's)spent another very pleasant afternoon painting one of your projects (Poppy fields). It was a wonderful way to spend time together. We both thank you so much for your generosity in providing these excellent tutorials. I hope you realize how much you are appreciated. Thank you.
This was so lovely to watch, the music playing gently in the background you imparting loads of info yep lovely red lines in the distance then boom they were Poppy’s quite amazing to watch. Am so gonna give this a go! Thank you for all the wonderful fab info at the beginning and also mixing help and washes.
Wonderful, I simply enjoyed watching that. I selected your poppy video to watch as your painting jumped out from the host of red poppies, I think I said ‘wow, look at that’! Thank you Paul, for sharing such a beautiful skill. Your narration is very informative and video editing is also perfect. I have many beautiful photos I’ve taken over time of poppy fields in landscapes and as a beginner to watercolour I’ve pondered how I can paint them. Your tutorial has been the key. I’d like to watch it several more times and then I’m very much looking forward to taking those tips onboard and applying them to my landscapes of red poppy fields. Paul, sincere thanks, Paul.
Wow! Love this painting, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skill and for talking us through it. I can't wait to try it!!! Just beautiful!
I learn something from your videos every time I paint as of late. I discovered you recently - I started painting the middle of the pandemic and recently retired from healthcare leadership. NOW I can really focus on painting in earnest. I do appreciate your tutorials and your lovely way of being.- I liked the nod to Erik Satie in the background music.
Thank you Paul, for this amazing series of tutorials. What a talent you truly have. Your explanations are so thorough. I've tried to paint in watercolours before and have never been happy with the result. However, I worked really hard on your beach hut scene this week and it's the first time ever that I have been pleased with the outcome. I particularly like the way that you repeat certain techniques (love the splat). Hoping to attend one of your workshops in person one day, when all of this COVID problem has gone away. Very best wishes, and keep this up please.
Hey CJ MC thats a great comment and mush appreciated!! - so glad you've given it a go and you would be most welcome to any classes - take care and stay safe!
Mr. Clark, having just discovered your fantastic videos, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! I’m binge-watching and every new one I watch is better than the previous one. They’re all great, of course. I have now subscribed as I don’t want to miss a single one LOL You are a brilliant artist and an awesome instructor. You have a new fan across the pond in Canada ❤️
So good. I love the suggestion of light in paintings. It's amazing how your brain is tricked into thinking that the area left as unpainted paper is bright sunlight. Magical. Thank you.
Thank you for the tutorial! I'm new here and I really love the way you explain how to do these. I also never knew about the sun bleaching out certain colours of a drawing before so that's a really cool info that I'll most likely be holding onto for a long time! ☺️😄
Paul, thank you ever so much. I always enjoy your tutorials such a lot - I sometimes forget about practicing! 🙂 Looking forward to next one! Greetings from Germany! Jutta
Brilliant just what I needed. Yesterday as I walked into my estate I noticed the rotunda was full of wild poppies so I decided to go out with my sketch book and have a go at painting them. How perfect to have just watched a tutorial on painting poppies. I'll have a few goes in my sketch book and then have a go at turning it into a painting by adding sky and background. Thanks so much. Wish me luck
I just finished my attempt at this - the first time I've ever painted 'properly'. I learnt a lot along the way. Thank you for all the ideas and examples on your channel.
tried this yesterday and must say I am quite pleased with it, so thankyou so much for amazing instructional way, Paul, you are the best teacher out there. best wishes
I don't even aspire to paint but there is something compelling about your videos. It is fascinating to see the optical illusions you create and you are a very natural and generous tutor for those who want to improve their skills.
I can't get enough of watching and listening to your wonderful tutorials. I can follow your explanations very well and I really like these poppies. Thanks a lot! Since watching your tutorials, my understanding of English has improved a lot. The other day I greeted my husband in English when he came home from work. He was very surprised and after I told him why, we both laughed. :-) Greetings from Germany
Your painting took me back to the lovely spring summer days, l live in Willingdon Eastbourne and it’s cold and raining, thank you for cheering my morning.

Then I discovered Paul Clark on You Tube, bought your Watercolour Book and now making my way through it; SO much fun (although finding the right paper that works for me, has been a journey). Love your teachings and funny wee stories. cheers!
Do you know that you have a fan in Sweden? Yes, it's me! I have learned a lot in the past week (it's raining here), thank you Paul, you're a great teacher. And artist!
I really appreciated watching your paint management, and I will watch this segment again and again. I’ve been painting for some time and still have trouble with water to paint ratio. Thank you, here’s another 👍 for you.
Thank you for this. I was researching poppy paintings to do for my elder aunts in Latvia. I love the idea of using pastels, never thought of that before. Such a delightful piece you created!
