Fantastic list and video! This will be a huge help as I try and find a few go-to rally games. I like Dirt 4 a lot, wish I liked Dirt 5 more than I do and have only barely played a few of the WRC games so I need to try those more.

@@RacingXTV lets hope! Indie racing games seem to forget that aspect, even when they are clearly throwbacks to the arcade hits. It feels weird they leave that out, not even adding it after the release when the community asks for it.
The first rally game I played was Colin McRae rally 04, back in 2004. Compared to modern rally games, such as Dirt Rally 2.0 and the WRC games, it's completely different. Yet, it was a lot of fun and quite challenging at the same time. When it comes to handling, you often end up drifting. The car models were great, you could damage them quite a bit, there was no 'fade to black' when you receive terminal damage. Most of the fun went into the championship mode, where you'd unlock stages, events and rare unlockable cars. (Even a meme car, such as the Ford Transit rally van) Group B was still difficult to complete, it's even locked until you complete previous rally stages. If you can get the game to work on your pc, I do recommend it. It's very similar to McRae rally 2005, although it has slight differences.
Isn't it very similar to CMR 05? I also played alot back in the day. Great game, but the physics are a bit strange I have to say. I remember when I first played Richard Burns Rally. The game was insanely hard but so much fun, I was blown away. I still have a physical copy of the game actually.
Every time he chucks a very strange choice into the mix he says, 'Now before you all start yapping'.....nonsense my friend, we're entitled to discuss your picks even if we completely disagree with some of them.
That's why I said 'before you start yapping' instead of 'don't yap in the comment section' because in the end everybody is free to say whatever they have in their mind
There should be Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and RalliSport Challenge on this list. Imo, those games are fantastic and best arcade style rally games ever made, even though they are over 22 years old.
For me WRC 9/10/Generations are the peak of Rally games. Are they perfect? No, but the stage design and physics are so good I can easily overlook any shortcomings they might have. Another incredible set of Rally games are WRC 2, 3 and 4 on the Playstation 2.
Are you talking about the voice or the script? Cuz the scripts weren't made by AI, only the voice is AI-generated since it's actually a a clone of my real voice.
Good one, very in depth and taking some other approach than some sim elitist. The only thing I have to disagree is WRC 9. I had lots of fun in WRC 8 but when I played 9, something felt off. Especially with junior cars on some surfaces. I remember a rally where no matter how much gas input I had the wheels kept spinning in place essentially making me unable to move. The rest of the game was pretty ok but because of this I would rather play WRC 8 or even 7.
The crew motorfest? It literally has one of the best car lineups for rally and rally raid and got maps. The physics is far better the 2 and really fun. Not to mention the grand races for which you choose between 3 car styles in one race.
I was about only including one The Crew game and I think The Crew 2 is better suited, but hey that's just my opinion. Will look into Motorfest more if this list get updated

@@speedtracker9556 Okay then you win. But you know what? I'll make a list of TOP 25 Racing Games You Should Ignore in 2025, that way you will do as I say. How bout that?
My favorite is Colin McRae Rally 2.0 on PS1 and PC. I can't tell difference but the PC version is good, meanwhile in PS1 is more challenging opponents.
I've not had the chance to try RBR yet but out of that list I find Sebastian loeb rally one of the best from a physics point of view and the kyloton games are above dr2. But of course in terms of actual vehicle dynamics BeamNg tops the lot.
I would also add Dirt Rally 1 (amazing game but could have more stages) and wreckfest (maybe not rally, but if You mentioned dirt 5 and gravel so why not wreckfest?;)). I would also add that v-rally 4 is really decent with proper wheel and feels similar to WRC series (which is not surprise cause they made by same developer) but you need probably to change linearity in settings.
Forza Horizon 5: Rally Adventure has hardly any "rally" in it, BUT if you want offroad racer with good physics (and Forza physics is IMO as good as arcade games get) and buttload of cars, both this, and regular mixed surface races from main game, is going to deliver
As a long time rally fan and gamer, here is a shortened list of what was said in this video, because some games are repetitive (like putting the 3 last games of the WRC series by KT) so there you go : #DRIVE Gravel Seb Loeb Rally Evo Richard Burns Sega Rally Revo Old School Rally Art of Rally WRC 10 Dirt Rally 2.0 CMR 2005 Games that should have been added to this list : CMR 2.0 WRC 2010 Dirt 1, 2 or 3 Games that have nothing to do here : Mechanic games, parking shit, The Crew, Forza, BeamNG, Assetto Corsa. I don't recommend : V-Rally 4, Dirt 5, Dirt 4 (worst game of the series), Dakar Desert rally (good game but Dakar 18 is probably more immersive, diverse and closer of what a Dakar Game should be, try this one first) Finally, if you go for WRC 10, no need to try 8 or 9 or the oldest WRC from KT Racing, 10 was the peak of the series. Generations is good, not as good as 10 for some reasons but still very enjoyable, only way to test the Rally1 Hybrid Cars within this series (EA WRC is a totally different style of gameplay).
Dirt 4, imperfect and confused as it is, is the only mainline Dirt game worth playing IMO. The rest are at best over rated and at worst are Dirt 5. V-Rally games are for V-Rally fans, 4 is just a continuation. I quite liked V-Rally 99 at the time but the slippery V-Rally physics are not for everyone. Codemasters need to build a new engine, everything they make now suffers from the same basic flaws over and over, the effects and the physics restrictions are starting to make their racers all feel the same regardless of the racing format.
@darthwiizius To me V-Rally 4 was just another rally game with rallycross and other disciplines, like Dirt 1, 2, 3 but with much less ambitions, and not as original and unique as Gravel, also can feel like Seb Rally Evo but doesnt have the Loeb stamp and special content on it. Felt miles away from the original V-Rally series although I do understand the game is appreciated by many, I had moments I like on it (+ one of the rare rally games avaible on Switch so kudos on this one, good to get on Switch). However regarding Dirt 4 I really disagree, the game has no identity, feels flat and boring, and it's not as sim as Dirt Rally 2.0, but still wants to look as serious as Dirt 2.0. Dirt 5 is over the top and feels like a cheap copy of Dirt 1,2 and 3 but at least it got its own style. Dirt 4 really feels like a a stranger both towards the Dirt and the Dirt Rally series...
@@evanalary3754 Dirt 4 was damaged by Codemasters trying to force in some "sim" elements to arcade handling. On one hand you get the arcade flow then on the other you have to slow down, it's completely confused. That said I still prefer it over the rest of the Dirt games. I don't count Dirt Rally/2.0 as parts of the franchise. I do have Gravel but it's in my racing to play list.
@darthwiizius Cool for Gravel hope you will like it was really a great surprise to me. To end on Dirt 4 I get what you're saying and it's like the main problem with this game to me. Gotta day I'm surprise you're the first person I see saying they prefer Dirt 4 over the 1 2 or 3 😅
I think WRC 9 is the best rally game ever. For some reason 10 looked and sounded so much worse to me than 9, and Generations was also disappointing compared to 9 which is strange since they both came out after. Basically, KT Racing peaked with WRC 9. I'm also a massive Art of Rally and Dirt 2.0 fan.
The new ea sports WRC is good when and if you can get it to run. EA broke it with the 1.9 update and havent really fixed it since. it blue screens my computer every time i run it and the moments glitch out and wont save your time to the leaderboard. i wouldn't recommend buying it until it gets fixed properly
WRC8 is better than WRC9. I'd also add Baja Edge of Control for xbox360, xb1 & PS4, has rubber band AI tho so don't upgrade or your make the AI work harder. 😉
sebastien loeb has a few stages i cant find elsewhere. vrally 4 takes understeer to roll the over you feelingvlucky? wrc 5 wants the widest turn with just enough braking to not bump into the exit. i love rally. the Nordschleife has nothing on these stages.
The only most fun rally game is the wrc evolved on ps2 , every time that you start the championship mode there is new "random accident" the bad is that every rally has only 3 stages and not SSS like in the wrc4
dirt 2.0 is the best rally sim you can get because it support vr flawlessly while ea wrc still far away from being playable in vr, why? you have to use vr if you are into sim
@ Well, it‘s a bit like saying: „Those 25 players are the BEST contenders for the MVP award of a football game“… ;) (which basically means ALL players)
Dirt 4 is an almost perfect game, I 100%ed the single player mode. The issues with Dirt 4 come down to 2 main parts, the first is it's confused focus. Dirt Rally was the surprise hit so they tried to integrate more of a sim focus so you end up with a game with arcade physics and sim finnickiness, the game just doesn't know what it wants to be. The second part is technical and comes down to Codemaster's ageing engine, the lighting/atmospheric effects can make it difficult to see and the cameras can exacerbate the situation by not tracking where you need to look at times. I've the same complaint with Codemasters racers for several years now, they really need to build a new engine after 30 years using and modifying the same one over and over. Dirt 5 is just shit.
@@RacingXTV tho it's graphics are great the car sounds and the physics are a pain to endure, tarmac is basically always 30% ice and some of the Car sounds are unbearable like God forbid you use the skoda fabia. I just reaqaaaaaaalllly don't like it

Over Jump Rally isn't even out yet though? At least on Steam.
It was just announced if I remember correctly
I'm added to this list Dirt 1 and CMR 2.0
Great games but CMR 2.0 is too old otherwise it'd be here
I own 17 Games of them 😊
😧😧😧
Richard burns è ancora il re ❤

How about WRC games from PS2?
This channel focuses on games that are available on modern platforms, so all PS2-exclusive games, no matter how great they are, are not here
çok iyi
Thanks!
Damn, so sad...
everything EA touches dies
@@rickyspanish4792 unfortunately you are correct. also love your work if youre the same ricky that is heavily involved with hacks/calderbank 👍
@@mikel6989 I'm afraid I'm another Ricky! I'm a game dev!
WRC8 is better than WRC9. I'd also add Baja Edge of Control for xbox360, xb1 & PS4, has rubber band AI tho so don't upgrade or your make the AI work harder. 😉
I kinda hate rubber band AI, that makes upgrading kinda pointless
Wrc 4 emulado. Increible juego. Hasta en el movil lo puedes jugar.
¡Gracias por compartir!
Colin McRae: Dirt 2 now and forever.
👍👍
OLD SCHOOL RALLY on Steam
It's only 10 bucks!
Je recherche un joueur pour les trophées 🏆 10 courses en ligne
Naniii!?
Dirt rally 1 for me is the most chellenging, more that dirt rally 2.0
Really? Maybe because when you play Dirt Rally 2.0 you already has some experience
Good content, but unenjoyable robovoice
Thanks for watching!
It's a bot channel.
That’s the bane of TH-cam these days
Sega Rally❤
❤❤❤
You forgot the evolution series rally games
They're PS2 exclusives so they're not here. This channel is only for PC, PS5, PS4, XSX/S, X1, and Switch.
sebastien loeb has a few stages i cant find elsewhere. vrally 4 takes understeer to roll the over you feelingvlucky? wrc 5 wants the widest turn with just enough braking to not bump into the exit. i love rally. the Nordschleife has nothing on these stages.
Damn you are a rally fan!
Rally Trophy
It was on my consideration but goddamn the graphics are just too outdated lol
WRC 3 for pS2
Nice!
The only most fun rally game is the wrc evolved on ps2 , every time that you start the championship mode there is new "random accident" the bad is that every rally has only 3 stages and not SSS like in the wrc4
Are you a 90s kid?
@@RacingXTV yes
Why I cant buy Over Jump Rally on Steam in Poland?
The game isn't released yet LOL, it's an upcoming game, sorry for the confusion
dirt 2.0 is the best rally sim you can get because it support vr flawlessly while ea wrc still far away from being playable in vr, why? you have to use vr if you are into sim
Absolutely!
The title gives it away... there are no 25 "BEST" rally games 😂
There are only 3, right?
@ Well, it‘s a bit like saying: „Those 25 players are the BEST contenders for the MVP award of a football game“… ;) (which basically means ALL players)
13:14 is this 2024 one?
The game? The game was released in 2023
@@RacingXTV now its "ea sports wrc 24" due to a new expansion dlc released thus the question is this 2024 one
Wait...30 years? Are you exaggerating or what
@@RacingXTV
They've been using and tweaking the same engine since TOCA mate.
What makes Dirt 4 better than Dirt Rally 2?
This list isn't in any particular order just so you know
Big jump in Dirt series was to Dirt 5, totally different than it’s predecessors.
Yeah, it became a more arcade game compared to its predecessors. I'm not saying it's not fun though
falto Dirt2, Dirt3
I only include the newer games LOL
your commentary is weird. "Alone or with friends, that is, if you have any". Why would you say that?
AI :S
Beep boop....I am here to serve human....beep boop...
@@RacingXTV I don't mind you, robot voice, sorry they are being mean to you :P
Dont try wrc generations trust me ur betterboff with wrc 10
And why is that if you don't mind me asking?
@@RacingXTV tho it's graphics are great the car sounds and the physics are a pain to endure, tarmac is basically always 30% ice and some of the Car sounds are unbearable like God forbid you use the skoda fabia. I just reaqaaaaaaalllly don't like it
Mobil 1 Rally Championship....
Damn that's old
Did you use an AI Voice?
Yes, a cloned version of my own voice
AI-generated voice? Is this the way it's going? Well, some of the games on the list I have, others I don't.
Yes, a clone of my own voice cuz voice over isn't my thing
1 best rally game is enough thanks.
I'm gonna bet it's either RBR or DR2?
I remember that i played the hell out of Xpand Rally
That's a good game!
where is dirt 3. Its better than 5 anyday
Didn't make it
Nice Ai commentry.
Thanks!
What a poor AI voice style, you've had a few years worth of AI tech to use......
Teach me senpai
Hello, can you guys tell me of most of these games can be played on keyboard/controller? I don't have the budget for a steering wheel and most of the mainstream rally games are so realistic based that I can barely control the car
Technically, you can. However, some games are harder to play using a keyboard or a gamepad. I'd say try the more arcade-like games.
@@RacingXTV Yep, that's why I asked, because I don't know exactly which game from this list is more arcade-ish
@@4Rogue4 Oh my bad. My suggestion would be Gravel, The Crew 2, Forza Horizon 5: Rally Adventure, and DiRT 5.
