  • Mid August my Dad and I were able to plan a trip together at an amazing piece of water. It was time well spent together and we even had amazing fishing! This video takes a look at the true power behind wild river carp and the joy of catching these beautiful fish!

    Love your videos bro keep them coming ! I've been fishing for carp here in US for the past year and I was wondering what bait you are finding most success with ? I have tried boilies , pop ups, tiger nuts and etc but for me maze corn works better than everything else. Now after watching your video cant wait for the weekend to hit the water again

      @@maximumstrength1313 thank you! I feel the same way, for 90% of my fishing I use maze. I’ve never had any problems with it and it always seems to work and I will usually use half a pop up with the maze. I also use tiger nuts a bit as well, I believe that works better with fish that are more hesitant because it looks more natural. I almost never use just a pop up and the only time I use boilies are if there are a lot of small fish around and I feel like catching them, boilies tend to weed out the smaller fish. I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed it and hopefully you can catch some!

    how much Lb line reqired for carp fishing? and How much drag is neccecry
    Targeting mostly 40-50 lb
    Rarely 70 Lb
    and How long yad line needs??
    Or can i use Braided line insted of mono lines??

    • @BrendansJourneys
      @BrendansJourneys  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@vbnet2379 for fish that size I would stick to mono around 20lb or maybe even a little bit stronger, depends on how snaggy and aggressive the features of the lake is. If it’s aggressive I would go a little higher. Braid works well for weedy waters because it cuts the weeds easier. And with braid I like to use around 50lb, just because braid is thinner. So I think 50lb braid is the perfect diameter. But deciding between braid or mono is really up to what you prefer more.

    Amazing video, enjoyed every minute. Braid with stones in the water is not the best idea as it is not abrasion resistant enough, personally I fish big rivers a lot in mainland Europe and I use either a strong mono snag-leader such as PB Products Shield (the best in my opinion after testing different ones for around 10 years). Another option is to use a strong mono completely on your spool. Then I use Ashima Gangster Strong in 0.55mm - extremely good line. You can also back it up with a stronger mono but then I would not use Delkims as the knot can get stuck to the sensor plate, then I'd instead opt for a bite indicator with a roller. By the way, I know weight is absolutely irrelevant, but you have to mount the scales on their top, if you do it like you did it in the video and hold them on their bottom, the weight indicated is falsified by 0.5kg - 1-5kg depending on the scales also! So more is indicated. There are some pretty good weigh-bars for that or you just use a bankstick, then the correct weight is indicated! However who cares about the weight in the end, great video from start to finish!

    • @BrendansJourneys
      @BrendansJourneys  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@continentalwaterways4923 I really appreciate the tips! Usually I would do that, however I didn’t think they would be that bad this time around, now I know for next time! And I do realize that about the scale and that’s how I normally do it but it wasn’t a huge deal to me, I wasn’t going to correct my dad, was just going to let him do that to get an estimate! Means a lot thank you!
