- Mid August my Dad and I were able to plan a trip together at an amazing piece of water. It was time well spent together and we even had amazing fishing! This video takes a look at the true power behind wild river carp and the joy of catching these beautiful fish!
Love your videos bro keep them coming ! I've been fishing for carp here in US for the past year and I was wondering what bait you are finding most success with ? I have tried boilies , pop ups, tiger nuts and etc but for me maze corn works better than everything else. Now after watching your video cant wait for the weekend to hit the water again
@@maximumstrength1313 thank you! I feel the same way, for 90% of my fishing I use maze. I’ve never had any problems with it and it always seems to work and I will usually use half a pop up with the maze. I also use tiger nuts a bit as well, I believe that works better with fish that are more hesitant because it looks more natural. I almost never use just a pop up and the only time I use boilies are if there are a lot of small fish around and I feel like catching them, boilies tend to weed out the smaller fish. I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed it and hopefully you can catch some!
how much Lb line reqired for carp fishing? and How much drag is neccecry
Targeting mostly 40-50 lb
Rarely 70 Lb
and How long yad line needs??
Or can i use Braided line insted of mono lines??
@@vbnet2379 for fish that size I would stick to mono around 20lb or maybe even a little bit stronger, depends on how snaggy and aggressive the features of the lake is. If it’s aggressive I would go a little higher. Braid works well for weedy waters because it cuts the weeds easier. And with braid I like to use around 50lb, just because braid is thinner. So I think 50lb braid is the perfect diameter. But deciding between braid or mono is really up to what you prefer more.
@@BrendansJourneys thank u so much for your guides😇😘💕
super sick fishing and gorgeous venue. do you fish much of the great lakes? havent see much of you fishing our inland seas since the early carl and alex videos.
@@philipkerlin6696 thank you! We have been doing a lot more exploring recently but actually this fall I plan on fishing the Great Lakes more! So I should have some content coming up with that!
You should go back to the state park where you Austin and Carl and Alex went and caught them 30lb ones
@@TUT-TUTT that would actually be nice to visit there again! I’ll definitely keep that in mind and might try to get back there soon!
@@BrendansJourneys that session there use all had was unbelievable I wish could go
@@TUT-TUTT it really was a special moment, I’m very thankful for it!
Great friend! Just show the mountings, nozzles and bait
In Germany, when i fish big rivers , i like to use really thick and long snack leaders, to avoid being cut of on the rocks . Like 0.7 straight mono .Maybe you will get more fosh on the bank like this ! Hope this helps !
@@LucaWallum that definitely would have helped! Unfortunately I wasn’t prepared for it this time! I didn’t think it was going to be as bad as it was this time around, but at least I know now!
Love this Brendan. :)
That crazy run toook so much line hahah wow
@@fishwithcarl thank you Carl 😌 that means a lot! And right 😄 I couldn’t do anything I just had to let them run, they were so strong!
@@BrendansJourneys That's ok mate, ahhh the best feeling!!
@@fishwithcarl it really is! Each one had me on the edge of my seat 😄
@@BrendansJourneys Yessss! Love it :)
Heck yea! Perfect timing I just got in a carp gear order unpacking it watching this prepping for a birthday session this weekend perfect start with an epic video!
@@yeaitswop that’s awesome to hear! I’m glad you had something to watch while prepping, probably made for a good time! Hopefully you have a good session and I’m glad you enjoyed it, that means a lot!
@@BrendansJourneys it was a great video got me amped for this weekend!
@@yeaitswop that means a lot! Best of luck when you get out!
Amazing video, enjoyed every minute. Braid with stones in the water is not the best idea as it is not abrasion resistant enough, personally I fish big rivers a lot in mainland Europe and I use either a strong mono snag-leader such as PB Products Shield (the best in my opinion after testing different ones for around 10 years). Another option is to use a strong mono completely on your spool. Then I use Ashima Gangster Strong in 0.55mm - extremely good line. You can also back it up with a stronger mono but then I would not use Delkims as the knot can get stuck to the sensor plate, then I'd instead opt for a bite indicator with a roller. By the way, I know weight is absolutely irrelevant, but you have to mount the scales on their top, if you do it like you did it in the video and hold them on their bottom, the weight indicated is falsified by 0.5kg - 1-5kg depending on the scales also! So more is indicated. There are some pretty good weigh-bars for that or you just use a bankstick, then the correct weight is indicated! However who cares about the weight in the end, great video from start to finish!
@@continentalwaterways4923 I really appreciate the tips! Usually I would do that, however I didn’t think they would be that bad this time around, now I know for next time! And I do realize that about the scale and that’s how I normally do it but it wasn’t a huge deal to me, I wasn’t going to correct my dad, was just going to let him do that to get an estimate! Means a lot thank you!
Great video Brendan. Would love to do a carp fishing trip to America at some point. I've been to the US many times in the past, but never for fishing.
@@benphillips1753 thank you I’m happy you enjoyed it! It definitely would be a fun experience, hopefully one day you are able to! I think it would be worth it!
I’m definitely planning a trip to the US in the future to go carp fishing!!! Well done bro look forward to the next video
@@VeteranOutdoorsUk awesome, I hope the best with that! And thank you so much, there will definitely be more!

@@carpangler-TV thank you, they really are I’m happy we had the chance to go!
Awesome session and video Brendan! Congrats on your dad beating his PB, those were all nice healthy carp. I had flashbacks then a little anxiety when you were fighting a fish then another rod took off lol almost feels like work than fishing at that point haha. Can’t wait for more vids!
@@zacharyengle4394 I appreciate that, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m sure he appreciates that, they were awesome fish I was definitely happy with them! That was bad timing wasn’t it 😄 it was a stressful moment, the morning definitely felt like a lot of work! Hopefully I’ll have more soon!
Great narration great music choice great fish! Awesome to see you stay mentally with it and even in frustration get right back to it! I cannot wait for your next video
@@DanielOnTheBank I really appreciate the feedback!! I’m glad the work was worth it! It was difficult but I knew I had to push past it to get on some more fish, what’s done is done. Hopefully soon I’ll have more to come!
Great job man I would do a lot of things to have a session with that much action and congrats to dad on the new PB
@@joeyonlyfins9256 I was really happy the action was fast! For a while it was hard to get on fish so this session definitely felt good to catch some fish! And I know he appreciates that, I’m happy he caught that one too!
I like the narration. Great video man, enjoyed it.
@@OutsidewithTom that really means a lot to me, I’m really glad you did enjoy it!
Only someone who knows how negative you are could sense this passive aggression. You’re the worst Tom.
Congrats, looks you and your Dad had an amazing session! I wish I could hear my reels scream off like that when I go out🫨💪🙃
QQ, have you, your brother and Brian ever thought about getting together with Carl and Alex for a Dale Hollow reunion? I’m sure I’m not the only fan who’d love to see that happen🤞🥳
Great video!!!
@@josephquinn7356 thank you I really appreciate that, it was a great session! I bet, I still can’t believe how hard these ones fought 😄 that would be really nice actually! We made a few trips back there but unfortunately Alex hasn’t been able to join us plus we try and keep it exciting and fishing new spots! But I think down the road we should try and plan a trip like that! Next year we will be heading Carl’s way though!
