It is one of those interviews that just backfires terribly for the one conducting it. This woman’s brilliance is so underrated, she is quick at catching subtle gestures and phrases. She doesn’t back off easily, she is elegant and has class. She knows how to give it back. She has to be the brand ambassador of women empowerment.

I have never seen an interview like this before, no sugar coating, no polishing, Mrs Smriti Irani was dissecting every single statement from the host and calling out the subtlest of agendas.. I mean even if you are spilling out absolute facts, you might think about coming off a bit friendly, I was stunned at her response when she was asked to comment on one positive quality of Rahul Gandhi, instead of beating around the bush or even trying to think about it or coming up with something, or even making it up.. she was like, How will I complement a leader who runs away, and even stated that he's not a gentleman. I know this comes from the sheer confidence and exactly as she pointed out, from knowing her stuff, that she could present herself raw. I have worked in public health in India with various agencies and now with the ministry, whatever she is saying about nutrition has been true regarding lack of standardization and even understanding the ethnic differences for wasting & stunting.
Women & Child health receives over 70% of the annual health budget in most states..
Regarding menstrual leave policy also she has current projection. I give you a real life example which Manoj jha cited; I worked for dept of health in Bihar, they had provision for menstrual leave but when I asked why my female colleague (who was having difficult cycles) didn't use these leaves, she said the exact same thing:" mam I don't want to let people know when I bleed"
A politician talking with such logic is why India is growing and this party is winning no matter what!!

There is no one in the world would call this lady anything but a lying scamster, Her title fits her beautifully, 'Cylindrella' after all. Doing theatrics catches eyes of some easily manipulated people but everyone can see what Smriti ji is behind the curtain. So, what she does not know malnutrition, stunting and wasting exist abysmally in India? This is the same way the govt denounces the hunger index because it takes into account the malnutrition, malnourishment and stunting data, along with under 5 mortality as well as Infant Mortality Rate. This kind of third grade theatrics should be done in her saas bahu serials. I would have still give her the benefit of doubt, had she not become a flying bird to avoid questions on LPG price rise amidst stagnating incomes. Her govt has tampered every metric in terms of data projection, they want to include street hawkers in the employed category. They change metrics of poverty calculation. If she has some iota of respect left in her she should have protested the minute the Manipur girls were stripped and raped and a crowd of 100 imbecile men paraded with them. Why does she not speak about Hathras victim, Kuldeep Sengar, Swami Chinmayanand, the IIT student that got raped, or Brij Bhusan. Not to sound anymore cliche, I mean she was the one that actually backstabbed her friend who helped her and gave her shelter in times of crisis, but she eloped with her friends husband. Now I am convinced Smriti Maam is an organic politician who undertook TV Serial acting as a part time professional. It is opposite of what we see. But I wonder why she is chopping Mehak so mercilessly. I feel this Mehak, is definitely less venomous than some biased journos like Rajdeep Sardesai, Burkha, Ravish etc. I doubt whether Smriti has some old score to settle with BRUT.
Smriti Irani is undoubtedly a very good speaker and conveys her point with clarity and assertiveness. But this does not mean that we should undermine the journalist either as she was just doing her job which is to ask questions and seek answers on those particular points
Her job was to ask question , that is one thing she had to do ,that also she did without doing her homework.
She was constantly being interrupted, wasn't allowed to even finish the questions. Like she stated she had done her homework but she wasn't the minister holding that portfolio so her knowledge might be limited in the area. And inspite of all that interruption she still tried to maintain grace and continue her job

She let the guest take over because she did not do her homework and started with an agenda. once you do that your credibility goes out the window and the guest has the right to defend themselves and set stage.

I think Smriti was being extra defensive as she knew that India's ranking in the Hunger Index and her remark of people calling up and asking whether you are hungry and conducting the survey would be questioned. She has this attacking style which I personally don't enjoy in a guest while watching an interview.
She is an achiever and hence she has been called for the interview. But to not have the slightest humility and put down the other person at every opportunity is not the kind of interview I like to watch. But to each their own as long as we are being respectful!
