Yes, only the middle class runs the country, poor people don't pay taxes and they receive freebies from the government. Rich people also don't pay taxes because they always borrow heavily from banks and try to approach CAs or tax consultants to evade taxes and avoid paying, traders pay less tax, it just comes under digital pay and there is no proof of black money.

What I could conclude from this podcast is:
1)he has a great knowledge and a great interest for the nation
2)He is very self centred, somewhat he is angry or frustrated that he isn't in the cabinet and personal inalignment with Modi
3) for him USA> Russia,idk why
4) He is accepting India is on the right track and at the same time where is development
5) I think pro USA or like other countries who can't see Modi as PM coz they can no longer do whatever they want in Modi's Era

Although he spoke facts of Modi government lies, sometimes we need to have that skepticism to address the truth. Indians lack this truth seeking behaviour that's why politicians still exploit this divide and rule politics.

I remember during my college days i used to read his article in TOI. I have won several debates just by referring to his article.. But after seeing this podcast, I think he had some expectations with the BJP which were not fulfilled and he is unhappy about that. I may not be that knowledgeable but i think right now we need BJP. No other party or anyother leader that i can think of as Pm as modi can help India become a superpower. I wish Mr Subramaniyan good health and happiness.

I think what he spoke he spoke the minds of many middle/ middle upper class professionals. And, gave some enlightenment to the young generation. I am glad that there were many things that he brought up being done inappropriately by current govt. that I also keep banging my head as to why is that being done that way..be it taxes, be it telling lies, be it wasting the hard earned money of working class or the issue of transparency. Working class pay off 4months of their income as govt. taxes and on top of that they pay tax for everything they purchase. This needs a resolution sooner or ppl will start exploring ideas to evade taxes

He has for long been my favourite politician. As an engineering student in Bangalore, I attended his press conference when he had launched his own party. I had just written a letter to him about his views on China and Israel and I was surprised to get a reply inviting me to meet him. Courageous man with phenomenal contacts and sources worldwide. Kudos to you too for bringing out the best in him.

Hungry for power and seems to be angry that nobody's paying heed to him anymore especially Modi. He'd be better off if he had a solid stance on things instead of jumping around to whatever suits him at the moment. I do agree on some of his points on taxation, economy and China. True, indeed a fearless man, but observe what a colossal waste of raw intellect & logic, which is why the ancient texts prescribe humility, self restraint, moderation & control over ones ego.
Swamy is a textbook case of how an uncontrolled ego can destroy even the finest intellect. Modi/Shah had given him a golden opportunity to head a prestigious, multi-nation BRICS bank. It was an opportunity to make a huge success of that assignment, mend ties with the Chinese, prevent Dokhlam or maybe solve the China border problem, displaying his self-proclaimed tales of astute statesmanship with the Americans (Gulf War refueling rights)
That would have ideally positioned him as a claimant for FM, HM or Commerce Minister with full Cabinet rank, working directly under the PM.
Instead SWAMI wasted this opportunity due to his misplaced sense of entitlement.
And public abuse of Modi has not worked for anyone since the last 40 yrs. Every opponent of his over the last 40 yrs who abused him publicly has simply fallen by the wayside..

If people vote for INDIA alliance after listening to this, we may have Rahul Gandhi as PM, Mamta Banerjee as Home minister , and tejsvi yadav as defence minister. Is that what you want?

I am being an educated and politically neutral person, I always like to speak my mind which unfortunately is getting difficult day by day with the current bhakta mentality around us. People around us now-a-days love to give everyone “Tags” very conveniently.
I believe common people, educated people forgot we are living in a democratic country which might turn into a dictatorship soon and rather than studying, looking at the facts and focusing on the facts most of us are just going with the flow and just believing what we just see with our eyes and stopped using our brain.
This is one of best episodes ever. Get to know other side of politics.
I once subscribed to his views but not anymore. What he has achieved and done for India is historic. I would even credit him to draw the youth towards Modiji during the 2014 campaign. I feel he is a double edged sword which Modi couldnt risk keeping in the vicinity of the power structure.

Good interview..! the interviewer missed asking the following questions,
1. If not PM Modi, who according to Swami is the best alternative within and outside BJP to become India's next PM..
2. What is Mr. Swamy's single biggest contribution to India after spending more than 40 years in Politics.
3. What are his views on how Modi Government managed to come out of the Covid Crisis both socially and economically compared to other countries.
4. Why is India growing at 7.5% while other major powers have gone into an economic crisis post Covid.
Have a debate with sudhanshu Trivedi then we came to know about the actuality.
Answer according to him is obviously himself
He clearly told 7.5% growth rate is bogus and he has proofs with calculations. Remember he's Harvard professor in Economics by the age of 35. People generally become professors at the age of 50, even in dabba colleges. He ain't Raghuram Rajan.
1.Nitin Gadkari is the best replacement of Modi.
4. He make foreign relations as good as nation wants and bravely stands for the growth of government as one has to work for India to grow at pace
3. They actually didn't came out of covid crisis as they did nothing to get out of it all they focused is on winning election by any means.
4. He explains INDIA is not growing at 7.5% because while calculating GDP the government shows the data which includes inflation and i.e nominal GDP not the Real one.

You need to create a brand and build on that, as for this guy, he does not have knowledge on any topic. Take for instance, when Dr. Swamy responds that India will be like 1930, this guy should have the minimum knowledge that Dr. Swamy is referring to the USA..which he does not...and to add insult to injury, he terms it as "Recession", the term should be "Great Depression or just Depression".

One thing I learnt from this podcast is high qualification is only a certificate of knowledge. It's not a certificate of integrity and character. I'll use this Swamy's case as a classic example every time someone tries to win an argument with what they have achieved decades ago.
He was my professor at IITD. I think he should focus on what is good for the country rather than be driven by his ego in everything he does.

One thing I learned from this podcast is that just being high learned from reputed institute can’t make you rational. Even a commoner can tell his attitude and way of thinking.

3. He says about full blown war with China, instead of diplomacy. Which leader thinks of war in today’s time.
4. He says he is economics expert, and says gdp calculation should consider the value of goods from previous 4th year. Sirji the whole world is calculating on current price and inflation.
4. He says BJp can only win on issues of Hindutva.

I think Subramanian Swamy's inclusion in the BJP reminds of the old quote from President Lyndon Johnson "It's better to have your enemy inside the tent pissing out than have him outside the tent pissing in". This guy is a loose cannon and frankly not easy to work with. He has the stereotypical attitude of an intelligent intellectual. He thinks he can do a job very well meanwhile he is demeaning and belittling people around him. He looks down upon them. There is a reason this guy always came through the Rajya Sabha and not Lok Sabha as in a Lok Sabha election he would have shot himself in the foot with his big mouth. He is talented, smart but doesn't play well with others and will cause a lot of animosity amongst the people that he works. So I think it's a great decision by Modi to keep him in the party and he wants to stay in the party as he wants to be politically relevant. He is using them and they are using him. This also falls in line with the fact that Modi sidelined a lot of senior politicians who were part of the old gaurd. Their thinking was outdated, they would have got in Modi's way. Their ego wouldn't have allowed to take orders from a guy who they thought was an underling. He had to wipe the slate clean and remove people who would have become roadblocks. Other examples are Arun Shourie and Yashwant Sinha.

This podcast has left me with lots of questions to be asked from Dr. Subramanian.
1. In regards to his comment on India's current GDP growth (please note I am not an economist ) ,if as an average person I am doing well during an inflation period, and I go back in time when there was no inflation (goods were more affordable), but earning current day wages, wouldn't I be living more comfortably? So in other words, given the current global state the GDP growth is good.
2. Income tax should be 0?! Isn't that the current ideology in US which has led to such an aging infrastructure in US. Please stop bringing that selfish ideology to India. We are a growing country and we need taxes in order to help India keep growing, keep building necessary infrastructure.
3. Under PM Modi's government, tremendous work has been done to build road infrastructure. How do you suppose all that work got done without money/taxes?
4. Dr Subramanian says no progress has been done under PM Modi's government but then how did the Kashmir issue got resolved under current government (after dealing with the issue for 75 years), and when was the last time India hosted a g20 summit?
It almost feels like Dr. Subramanian had an agenda and given the current geo politics there is lot to be questioned.

2 and 3) Generally govt uses taxes for govt jobs salaries, and for developmental work they use loans from WB.
4) kashmir issue is still unsolved. They only abrogated article 370 and that too undemocratically, Congress would be able to do that easily...but they tend to be liberal unlike BJP.
I have also observed same things. Except Jaishankar and Gadkari, there is nothing in BJP. In fact, BJP is mostly accredited of its infrastructure and foreign policy but on economy, bjp is always challenged.

Great views and opinions from Swamy ji, he gave a clear picture on what is actually going on in India rather than all the bogus stuff being thrown into people's memory by media which is controlled by Modi. The question which really arises is who to vote. We need someone educated enough with the right mindset and attitude who acts as a leader rather than a dictator. There's no point in voting Congress or even AAP as both the parties have now formed allies which means all the statements promised by Arvind Kejriwal won't be promised either ways even if they win as Rahul Gandhi would be the one who'll step up as a PM incase they win. The only option left in my opinion is voting for BJP but only on a condition that a person like Mr. Nitin Gadkari steps up to replace Modi, Amit Shah gets thrown out of the party and some highly ambitious people like Swamy ji himself are there to back Mr. Gadkari. Yes Modi had nothing to do with the SC decision on ram mandir. Also, the decision was clear since the day the ASI report and foundings were completed but SC was unable to give decision because it feared the implications it can cause. A strong government is responsible to handle the outcomes.

CJI Gogoi was the son of a Congress CM and it was under his tenure, a sitting PM for the first time visited Court room no.1 (CJI's Court) by himself requesting the CJI. Nothing is black or white. The sexual harassment case against Gogoi, the court visit, everything is linked.

You can't use that to judge his current arguments. Any person could change in a matter of 25 years. A lot of people watching this video aren't even 25 years old! He's a man of 80 years of age, all children married and settled. He has money saved up for leading a good life, and he is still standing up and trying to do his best from his side. There are two different perspectives here.
If you really want to prove him wrong, counter his arguments with hard evidence. Don't play this game of emotion with the people. People aren't fool.
