    Done with my first attempt! Looks good, looking forward to learning more. Do you have videos for visualizations related to showing organizational charts?

    Thank you for the video, it helped me to build something similar!!! One question, sometimes the data field under value option is grayed out, do you know why?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing and I'm happy to hear the video helped you build something similar! For your question, can you provide a little bit more detail to help with troubleshooting? Specifically, what are you referring to pertaining to "value option"? If you traverse the visual's formatting menu, which specific field. Example.. [Callout values] -> [Values] -> [Show blank as]. With this additional detail I'll be happy to look into it and see how I can help!

    Well done video and explanations. Is there a way to filter by both the field and the label value?

      Thanks for sharing how you enjoyed this video!!
      Great question, for the concept of this video, the clickable cards will function by filtering on field only but there is a way to filter on a measure value outside of this presented concept. It would be to utilize the filter pane on the visual using a filter for the measure applied to the visual. This is because measures are calculated by whichever filter context is applied, so they cannot be utilized the same way categorical values are.

    Would like to ask what if the value is ZERO, can the Label show Zero?

      Glad it's useful and thanks for your question!!
      Yes, if you are referring to a text field with the value of "ZERO" and you'd like to show "Zero" you can do that in the transform layer. Either change the actual value, or duplicate the column and use it just for the filter and format as needed. Here's a blog about it.
      community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/How-to-convert-text-to-Title-Case-Proper-Case-CamelCase/m-p/166037#M72484
      In the Query Editor, go to the Transform tab, select Format, and select Capitalize Each Word.
      If you are referring to the int "0" and wanting to return string "Zero". I would update your calc to return blank instead of "0", then in the callout value, set the show blank as field to "Zero".

      I believe for this update I had either the Feb or Mar version installed. I recommend you download the most recent version, the majority of this tutorial does use some of the newest features

    Can you also add a target value to these?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question and thanks for reaching out! Currently this slicker does not allow for reference labels (which could used to add a target value), or detail labels. Currently, you'll only be able to display a callout value to my knowledge. If you find a workaround or another way to solve adding targets please do share!

    Is there a way of using this with multiple columns, where you have data that falls into multiple categories?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Excellent question! For this specific card visual, it will only function with one column of data. You can try a couple of different/creative solution options utilizing multiple filters though. Maybe create a another slicer of some-type for the other columns, or create a KPI filter for each of the columns you want to filter on. Hope this helps and let me know what you decide to go with!

    Love this - anyone know how to make the clickable cards / filters from going invisible if there is no data? using another filter on the side makes them disapear if there is no data.

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question and glad you love it!!
      I think that’s a drawback of using the filter, as items are filtered they are removed from all filters.
      You may be able to construct something where a dummy visual/image is behind the actual one, so if items drop the visual behind appears.
      Brainstorming… haven’t tried it yet

    One quick check..when there is no data set related to new slicer, It dissapears. How can we make it to show count zero instead of dissapearing?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi and thanks for the question! In order for a filter to show any value, it needs to have some type of dataset related to it. Under the callout values section, there is section "Show blank as". If you have dataset that is completely null or empty, you can update this "Show blank as" box to "0" and if the dataset is completely empty (null) it will return a zero.
      Hopefully this helps and thank you for your questions!

      @@PowerBIBro Thanks for this great video and also thanks for sharing your knowledge. Meanwhile a follow-up question, if the value which is under "Label" is getting filtered to 0, the slicer gets reshaped and panel gets changed. How to avoid slicer to get reshaped if the "Label" is 0 due to another filter? Thanks in advance for our comments.

  • @MGA19a
    @MGA19a 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So it's basically new slicer and not "cards" - yes you format them to look like card - still a kind of “clickbait” title - otherwise good video ;-)
    Question to "formatting" measure - why don't use formatting option "currency, tsd., decimals" above in the menue instead of using format in the measure code?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for the feedback and the question! You're totally correct about how this video focuses on converting the slicer tool to appear as a card. My thought was positioning the "card" concept from the viewpoint of the end-user vs developer.
      Great formatting question. The label field within the callout value section doesn't translate the default formatting applied to the measure "currency, etc..". To test it, if you download the file from github, drop the Net Sales field onto the label (field without the DAX Format function), and you'll see that applied default formatting doesn't pass through. Currently for this label feature, we need to declare the formatting with the the DAX measure itself.
      Thanks again for your question and support!

    • @sass520
      @sass520 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes after checking the video I assume it to more than 1 year. New features are already added in pbi. So no need to add measure again. It would be again storage problem

  • @JorgePerez-bu4ph

    Not really a secret, the new slicer is supposed to do that, act as a slicer and apply filters when clicked. The new card visual is still not clickeable or interactive

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      True, the goal of the concept is to share how we can manipulate slicers through a series of formatting steps and label measures to appear as clickable KPI cards to our end-users. Thanks for the feedback!
