I love using the new card visual most of the time. I just spent a couple of hours trying to set up a dashboard that had new card visuals pinned to it. I wanted to set up alerts for the cards but the alerts aren’t available for the new cards. I had to change all of the new cards back to original cards them republish to be able to see the option to set up alerts.
Thanks for the tutorial. I usually create something similiar by grouping a lot of custom shapes, texts and cards (with measures), but this seems much more straightforward. Gonna give it a try.
love your channel.....just off topic a bit, I have a question regarding the forecasting model. In previous version PB displayed the Forecast, Upper bound and Lower bound totals when "show as table". Those totals are not displaying with the latest version. Is this a bug?
There is no vidoes about forcasting using dax in powerbi.....!!!! this is very helpful feature now a days...every company wants to forcaste there data or sales value.
Love the new card visual. Only things are is that it takes a while to set up and get how you want, and if you have an error in a measure that you're using, which can be many depending what features of the visual you use, it makes it so the whole visual won't render. I'd love to see it not render the one card so you know what to look at to fix instead of looking at all measures.
Hey Adam, very cool stuff for this "new" card visual, but man that's a lot of work to get it to look nice. What do you recommend to make some kind of template to re-use cards that are pre-formatted? Simply save some cards in a .pbix with no real data attached, then copy and paste to your production .pbix file?
I tried it out recently. It was buggy un many ways, e.g. while trying to use several measures at a time in a grid. Also, if I remember well, it was not possible to use several times the same measure. Like many of the new products/services/features MS has published over the past several months, it looked to me un-finished...
When I used Detail section for values a while ago, it worked fine on Desktop. But detail labels were not appearing on service. Did u tr publishing and checking on Service? Have they fixed the issue?
I don't see the gear icon that you have on your screen next to data pane, the whole vertical ribbon is not visible in my PBI desktop. Can someone help me with this? Thanks a lot!
What we really need is a multi column card like the multi row, but horizontal, so we can show multiple KPIs within a horizontal real estate with a single visual and not have too many single cards.
I have an exciting challenge: I want to handle time a little different as usual in Power BI. I want to do workload calculations for machines, so I want to be able to summarize the time and get it summed by day, month, year etc, I also want it to go over 24 hours. However, I want it in the time format and not in the decimal format. So if a machine is used for 50 hours in a week I want it to show 50:00:00 for that week. It seems that this cannot be done in power BI.
Thanks, Adam! Have been working with the new card visualization for a few months now and this video REALLY unlocked the capabilities:) Quick sanity check: I don't see anywhere where icon conditional formatting is supported on a selected field...colors, font size yes--icons, no. Can you confirm I'm not missing it for icons? (Have already written measures to pull in images based on cell value--just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the more efficient approach that comes along with icon cond. formatting). Thanks!
Very nice way to combine the card, multi-row card, and KPI visual functionality. But how do you get the automatic trend icon (up/down arrow) to appear when you add an item to the reference label details, say a YOY percentage? I don't see where to add that and in this video it just appears automatically.

Man... formatting is everything
Love it - need support for custom fonts!
I also wonder how you did the nice arrow for the % Change. Is it part of the formating or how did you do it? I dont find any similar ASCII arrow...?
Can't be 100% sure, but UNICHAR(129149) and UNICHAR(129150) look pretty close.

Simple and Excellent as always.
Thank you for this!!! A question though, shouldnt the % change be on the upper side? Just me who think so?😮
Yeah...recently used it to create a financial dashboard and capabities are amazing.

Love the new updates in BI, they are not the bestest ever but God did the visuals needed more POWER
Thanks for the video
Please create a video about how to have a custom message when no data in chart

Super post , thank you so much Guy in a cube

I saw that visual ages ago but I did NOT see potential in it by then. After this video I will give it a chance
How did you get the up arrow on % change ?
My guess is he used the UNICHAR() function
thank you Adam for this video.
Oooh😮 I can use this for day before of a kpi thanks for sharing

Adam, please ask Microsoft when they will finally support calculation groups for reference labels & details?

@@paulgallagher2987 Thanks! Will check it out
You can configure the new card to have a column (vertical) layout. It defaults to rows (horizontal) but you can change this if you like.
Q: Can you please create a detailed video in writeback option from PowerBI using PowerApps.
🎉 The new card is amazing! But you know what's even better? Your video editing skills have seriously improved! 🎬✨ Keep up the great work!"

Coming from CSS, I don't agree with the shadows. It's like in any MS application, it's too basic.

Great demo.
So much waste of space
Just amazing
Thanks!
