Quick tip for bulk editing the DAX, if you use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F2 (or Ctrl + Shift + L) after you have selected the 1st "financials[Date]", it will select all versions of that wording and you can overtype them in one move.
You are just like a WOwww. I did your powerbi course from Udemy and it was Awesome and because of that course I got a data analyst position at UK based company. Thanks a bunch.
Wow, stumbled upon a Chris Dutton video! I've been learning from you over 10 yeas. I still reference your FoodMart Solution File. Much respect Chris, your LinkedIn training made my career!
Absolutely fabulous run through of the New Card. I am a Power BI instructor, and need to show the New Card to my learners next week. Do I show it myself or just show them this visual (and let them see how a master does it)? Tricky decision.
This is a great tutorial Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. :) QQ though - the details formula works absolutely great in the desktop but when i publish to the service i get - - instead. Ideas?
Great work here, Chris. I really enjoy your teachings. Would anyone be able to help, though? I have a problem changing my sparkline position in the image settings to 'below the text'.
I enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing. One question I have is... where can I find the list of unicodes that includes 129129 and 129131. I am unable to find any codes in that range. And then I am hoping that there are other similar codes that I could peruse. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I followed your steps, created new card and added few reference labels. When I did that, the first top of the card is so massive, you can’t see any of the reference label data below the devider. I have to make the card almost as big as my whole dashboard for all the info to be visible. How can I adjust it? Ideally I would want to move the devider up, so the rest of the data shows up. Any ideas?
Just had to google a bit, sorry. STARTOFMONTH(DateTime[DateKey]) It is a standart DAX script, in my case I wanted start of the week and used this line StartOfWeek = [Date] + 1 - WEEKDAY([Date], 2) This works for weeks that start on Monday, also careful with it for the weeks that start/end on the border of the year.
Thanks a lot for the video I followed through but somehow the context filter of start month is applying even to the reference labels and not displaying values for previous month How do I work around this?
I figured out how to make calendars and measures of my data since this video didn't cover that portion. I was able to successfully make two new card visuals based on data sets that have a row for every day. The Start of Month filter works fine on those to sort my data by month when I have two months of data and there is data for each day. When I try to use a data set to filter by Start of Month , and the data it is filtering does not have a row for every day of that time period, I get two dashes instead of a value. I'm still looking online to see if I can find a solution but if you could assist that would be greatly appreciated.
Great video, thanks - making my dashboards look sexy af! Is there a way to reduce the area of the reference label? I’m wanting to put a gradient area sparkline under my callout value. But it looks funny because I can’t reduce the height of the reference label, in order to fit the gradient area sparkline
Hey, great video - I am following along whilst using my own data. Does anyone know how he created things like "previous month revenue" etc? Thank you @Chris-at-Maven

That's great to hear, thanks for saying hi!
Wait
Chris has lectures on Lynda as well?
Is it still accessible I can't find it rn.
Chris is truly a great educator, and I would love to see his lectures outside of his own platform as well.

😆 Glad the timing of the video worked out for you!
Ha, thank you very much! Glad you found the demo helpful
Just on time. I am in this section of course and now can't stop myself from recreating it.
Thanks Chris ☺️
🙌
Glad to hear it! We plan to continue adding course lessons as new features roll out
This is a great tutorial Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. :)

I've heard similar reports, and I think it's likely a bug (not uncommon for preview features)
Great work here, Chris. I really enjoy your teachings. Would anyone be able to help, though? I have a problem changing my sparkline position in the image settings to 'below the text'.
Found the solution, thanks. I had to change Image settings from universal to Total Revenue
Very good, comprehensive and interesting workshop for this Power BI Card.
Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man, this looks great. Finally getting excited about power bi. Been a cognos developer for last 15 years.
Thanks again - different question now… do you have a source for those png icons?
This was very enlightening. Thank you 👍🏾

Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
How do you make your icons white like that and where do you get them from?❤
Thanks for sharing, Iwas able to follow until the moment with the "start of the month" column. What is it, and how do I construct it?
Just had to google a bit, sorry.

Great Video - Where can I download the PBIX for this please?
Did you publish this report? More than 1 field in Reference Label is throwing error in service. Even if you add something in details.

Hi very nice. Kindly talk about dataverse? What it is? Please🙏
We plan to put some content together around dataverse, onelake, and the broader Fabric ecosystem - stay tuned!
Great. Eagerly waiting
Loved it. Greetings from South Africa.
Thank you!
Is new course is coming on for latest PowerBI update?
This is just what I was looking for, great job and thank you for sharing!!
Awesome,Thanks for sharing.
Do you have a video on how to display the full value of a number in the card when it's > 10k? For example, instead of $24.2k, it shows $24,202
Excellent 🎉thanks for sharing...
You're welcome!
Glad you found it helpful!
Awesome video presentation.
I am learning so much from you.
Thanks....,
Hi, looks like the Links to resources - PBIX file is not related to this video. Could you please be kind to double check this. Thanks.
Awesome! Thanks Chris!
Glad you found it helpful!

You probably need to make them available in options --> preview features. Instructions 2:14 in the video.
This is awesome ❤. Thank you so much for sharing
