    My question here is, doesn't the funnel chart works for also filtering data? Unlike the other charts? I understand that, we generally use measures in funnel charts and the result of interacting (clicking) in a measure does not affect the whole context, but even if we use numeric calculated columns as the steps of the funnel and interact with'em, they don't change anything in the filtered context. I guess it's because the sum of a column (represented by the funnel step) also considerates blank values. So, this is a problem i see with the power bi funnel charts. Any ideas?

      @PowerBIBro 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for this question, glad you reached out! The funnel chart definitely works like other charts...eg. click a section of the funnel chart and it will act as a filter. Make sure these two items below are setup, you may just be experiencing a side-effect of another issue. If you open the file in the repo which I use for this demo then make these updates it should function as you expect, let me know if this helps! 1. edit the model relationship, change the link between [Stage Stage] to have 'BOTH' as the setting for Cross-filter direction, it's currently 'Single. 2. open up the options, go to report settings, edit default interactions to be cross filtering instead of cross highlighting. Hopefully this demo's the intended functionality!

      @@PowerBIBro Thx for aswering, Just saw your pbix file, but the problem remains: Considerating Lead if the first stage of your funnel chart well, you don't have 268 Lead (passed by) the lead stage right? Here we see a diference in the funnel chart logics. If you have a universe of 478 register and your first step of the pipeline is "lead", my funnel chart will display 478 leads (passed by) at the first step, and yours, 268 leads (stopped at). So if you would follow this "pipeline" logic, what would you recommend to use the funnel chart to filter the other visuals?

    Thank you for amazing video How can we do it when we add a new level? When I want to do this dynamically rather than statically, it gives an error. :/

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Love the question and thank you for reaching out! For this process, you'll need to proactively build out empty layers for future growth. To my knowledge there isn't a dynamic way to do this using the methods via PATH functions creating columns. Let me know if you find something different!

    Amazing video. How would you go about creating a card based on the selected value of a leader in the hierarchy slicer since it selects multiple levels? I am looking to show information like the selected leader's job title and level. Also I noticed the actual leader doesn't show as their own row in the matrix. Is there a workaround to show them? For example, I'd like to show vacation hours accrued for leaders and their direct reports.

      Thanks for sharing this question! To help confirm your ask, are you stating that parents without children are not showing up? If so, that should not be happening. As an example, in the file provided, go to the tab [Hierarchy] and see the person 'Qa Dibivo' under 'Fufe Be', this person has no children but is showing up. Hopefully this helps, if I'm missing the question please let me know and I'll be happy to help!

      Thank you for sharing and I'm happy to hear the video helped you build something similar! For your question, can you provide a little bit more detail to help with troubleshooting? Specifically, what are you referring to pertaining to "value option"? If you traverse the visual's formatting menu, which specific field. Example.. [Callout values] -> [Values] -> [Show blank as]. With this additional detail I'll be happy to look into it and see how I can help!

    Thanks for the video. My company has sales territories that are not divided up cleanly between state lines. For example, we have two territories for Texas and three for Florida. We get our sales data broken out by territory, but I'm not seeing a way to create a map that divides the states according to the territory boundaries we have created. Is this possible? I have an internal map showing our territory breakdown, but it's a flat pdf file, so it doesn't correlate to anything interactive in PBI. Thanks again.

      Love this question and thank you for sharing! There is a way to solve this, check out the latest video I just posted (link below). The July 2024 update included a Reference Layer update associated with Azure Maps. Essentially what you'll need to do is create a geojson or kml file which contains the boundaries of your territories. In the video below you can see that I do this same thing for Chicago neighborhoods. th-cam.com/video/hI-TdZiRke0/w-d-xo.html

      Thanks for sharing your question! To help with troubleshooting, if you click on the table created by the new parameter, does it list all values within the range (up to 100) or does stop at 99. Also, please share the DAX code for the table above for reference, example below for code within the project. What If Returned % = GENERATESERIES(CURRENCY(0), CURRENCY(1), CURRENCY(0.01))

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for sharing how you enjoyed this video!! Great question, for the concept of this video, the clickable cards will function by filtering on field only but there is a way to filter on a measure value outside of this presented concept. It would be to utilize the filter pane on the visual using a filter for the measure applied to the visual. This is because measures are calculated by whichever filter context is applied, so they cannot be utilized the same way categorical values are.

    How can i do a date range filter?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Love this question and thank you for asking it. Filtering on date range is possible more a bit more complicated and a few additional steps need to occur. For this example, I'll assume you want to create a relative filter, e.g., "records last month or last year or yesterday" etc... To have this work in a dynamic subscription, you'll need to add a new calculated column to your data model which returns text in a column aligned to the desired relative date. Example... if we wanted the subscription to send records for "Yesterday", in the data model, create a Boolean calculated column which returns True if the date is yesterday, then filter the dynamic subscription for "True" on this new field. Hope this helps!!!

    About the Word Cloud demo in this video where some words dont appear when selected, I think it might have something to do with the data model. When I add in Net Units to the table, only the words with Negative Net Units do not appear. All the words that have a positive Net Unit appears. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth.

    Talk about clickbait. All these features have been there for months now they're not June updates smh. PBIR has been on preview for ages

      Hey thanks for sharing your thoughts! A link to Microsoft’s June 2024 blog post is below. This video follows it, TDML has been in preview for a long time, but PBIR delivered within PBIB files is new. Everything I cover aligns with their June 2024 release notes. 52:52 I know this video is almost 6 months old maybe the feature was a new addition but still curious cant we use the 'Gradient' option from 'Format Style' for creating gradient instead of going through all this hurdles of creating a table and all?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Love the question and thank you for asking it! You can apply the gradient option from format style but you'll notice an important difference in the color results. To test it out, apply the gradient option and use the value of # Titles. You'll see the gradient does apply, but it scales from highest 'VALUE' to lowest 'VALUE', so the color does not go from Top to Bottom like the applied levels. The scaling would function similarly to how the bar chart scales from high to low. Hope this helps clarify the difference!

    Hi, thanks for the video. I have a challenge with What If analysis in Power BI witj my project. So, do we have any ways to use what-if in 2 directions. In the video, we did What if on Return $, that is 1 direction, now if we have a certain target to reach for Net Sale, let say 1,000,000, how it will impact against the Return $ or Return % ?

    • @PowerBIBro
      @PowerBIBro 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for asking this question and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video! This solution is designed for one specific direction. If you wanted to setup a 2 direction what-if solution I'd look into the following steps. It's a fairly complex solution but this is what I would attempt to complete. 1. Create a what-if scenario following the video 2. Create a second what-if scenario going to the inverse direction, updating the DAX where applicable 3. Create a button which toggles these visuals to show/hide 4. Stack the visuals on top of each other 5. Use the button to determine the visibility of each what-if scenario. It's a fairly complex solution but this is my first iterative idea, let me know what you decide to go with!

    Do you have a video explaining how to use filters on a map visualisation? I want to learn how to show different column values in one map. Thanks a lot for your channel!

      Thanks for reaching out and I'm glad the video is helpful! To confirm, are you wanting the end user to be able to select from different measures and them flow into your map... examples, maybe sales, profit, and units - you'd like the user to pick one of these. If so, the answer is to create a field parameter. Here's some documentation from Microsoft. I don't have a specific video on this but I do create them in my scatterplot video. If you watch that, you'll see how to create field parameters, then you can apply these to a map. Microsoft. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/power-bi-field-parameters Power BI Bro - Scatterplots... there is a chapter on field parameters. th-cam.com/video/I4ewYX04D4c/w-d-xo.html

      Thank you for your question! I can certainly provide info on the dataset utilized. For this maps video, I used Kaggle's Billionaires Statistics Dataset (2023). You'll see the power query in the PBI file has a series of transformative steps, but the raw data can be found below! Enjoy! www.kaggle.com/datasets/nelgiriyewithana/billionaires-statistics-dataset
