    Hey Ian!
    You can still hard wire the safety button on Here2. Just match pin-out of switch on Here2 to switch on GPS1 port.
    Nice video as always! 🏁

    I have the Hire1 GPS, and I want to buy another Herre1.
    Can I use two Here1,
    What will be the disadvantage of using Here1 instead of Here2?

  • @Rapsaj
    @Rapsaj 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What happens to the craft if the GPS is set to blended and one gps outright fails.
    Will the craft still function or does ardupilot glitch/do weird stuff when that happens?

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it will just continue on the single. Think of blending like a mixer. It will mix the bad one out entirely.

    @Mad's Tech Is it possible to connect Ublox Neo 7m or Ready to Sky M8N GPS Module to pixhawk Cube Orange instead of Here Gps series? When I select “Copter 4.0.5 Official” then It ask for Platform,Version and Firmware.
    2) Install Firmware Legacy
    - It has all Firmware Named as “ArduCopter…”

      Legacy is NUTTX Bootloader, you should install the current with Chibios on your controller but Legacy will work as well on that.

    Is there any differences in setting up the prams using 2 GPS’s were GPS1 is plugged into the GPS1 port(serial) and GPS2 is plugged into the GPS2 port (serial) rather than using the CAM ports? BTW I am using the KORE controller board.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically serial just works. On Can it’s just enabling the CAN and set the GPS 1 or 2 to CAN based.

    Hi Mad man , what would be the best solution to have gps set up sending information over bluetooth .any videos you recommend, im new to all of this .don't require autopilot just the gps position that will show on an app for bait boats

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahh ok a man after my own hart. I used to build bait boats and used many over the years. I used to modify some of the Angling technics ones like the Microcat and Procat. In fact an little thing you may not know is my user name on many forums is Mad_Angler1 for this very reason ;). I see a nice mirror there.
      Ok down to business so you want to haven your location, the best way you can do this is get an a cheaper FC with GPS and WiFi module to transmit. While you may not want to go full FC use there are lots of benefits such as waypoints and the ability to send it back to the same place.
      Sadly you can’t just transmit the GPS from these controllers as it’s pure GPS data.

    I damaged my gps cable and do you think i could get a replacement? Nope. What I did see for sale was a cable for a second GPS unit. I ordered that cable and it arrived. It is the original gps cable with a couple of wires cut and removed. The the hell! Who's the bright spark that thought that one up? So now no LED on the button and safety switch turned off. No big deal. But just cutting the wires is just crazy if you ask me. Especially when i haven't yet been able to buy that replacement for the Main GPS and have back the LED and Safety Switch.

    Hello there,
    Excellent tutorial. Question: I have a Pixhawk 1 and the internal GPS was working fine, but now I'm unable to have it fixed, is not picking up any satellites, I have not changed any configuration or parameter in the Pixhawk I have been flying it in open spaces trying to pick up any satellites but with no luck. At this point, I have no clue what can be happening if you have any idea that can help me figure what is happening I'll really appreciate it.
    Regards,

      The original Pixhawk does not have GPS built in, has compass. Do you mean pre Pixhawk 1 ?

      @kickfliph 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MadRC Thanks for reaching out back. Yes, you are right!, the Pixhawk only have compass I mixed all up sorry I'm just a newbie :) now, I also have an external GPS/compass module connected to it, I have check the connectors port and I believe they are correct, the GPS in the serial port label "GPS" and the compass in the one label "I2C", in this point I believe that this external module is broken or not working correctly I crash the copter days a go and the GPS external got badly hit, maybe that's the reason why now it's not working. I'll order a new one once Install it I'll let you know how it went. Thanks for all your help.

    Why does Hex only sell GPS units with IMUs and processor boards, when all their flight controllers have triple redundant IMUs anyway? Seems like a waste of money.
