Unfortunately I'm having the same issue right now, It's a feature that wasn't implemented in cs6, I'll have to upgrade and get the CC, hopefully today.
My text has a pink colour behind it in the box and I cannot remove it. But the colour does not show up in the fill or stroke swatches when I select the text box. Any help for a beginner?

When you press T at 9:28, are those letters editable as text,objects again or,still as vector,shapes? For example, you can type a new letter or change a latter but it would still be a new vector object and not a text object so you couldn't change its font? Is that right?

Can someone explain to me why the path on which the typing is done (re: the "type on a path" tool) disappears? And is there anyway to keep that path showing? Thanks guys! I faced a problem with resizing the text box- whenever I used the selection tool to resize it, I'd just end up moving it around. I looked for a fix online, turns out we need to turn on the show bounding box in the View menu. Shortcut- cmd/ctrl + shift + B

Getting an error : you must click on a non compound non masking path for the type Area for the vector |- shape area text in type area doesn't work either on cc 2020 when drawing a new type area to have the rest of the type and link flow.
I got that error too the first time, using cc 2020 as well. Look carefully at 10:20, he says you have to select the (first) stroke of the area in which you want to add your text. Maybe you figured it out by now anyway, I see you struggled with it 3 weeks ago
I could not find the download links for the Code fonts anywhere. The only fonts in the font folder in the download project folder were the three western looking ones, and the links in the description don't appear to contain them. Where are the Code fonts? Can someone help me find them please?

Edit, preferences, font/type whatever it may be on yours then it should be like "enable placeholder text" at the bottom of the list. Make sure to un-check that!

what version of illustrator are you using? You may have to convert to outlines first, then apply the gradient fill.

Ilustrator CS6 doesn't have TOUCH TYPE TOOL feature.... :(

7:41, he says that once you convert text into outlines, further typing modifications won't work.

In Design would probably be a good option
