I saw this video a couple of years ago and just loved it and you and your family. But then I got lost in health issues and when I went to find you again I thought the site name was 'colormeworld' so naturally I couldn't find you and I was so bummed out. But I just found you on youtube and was thrilled. Now I won't forget your name anymore. You do great work and I am so glad to see your creations. Happy Trails and crafting.
Awww you are so sweet Carol. Thank you SO much for your awesome comment. I am happy you are feeling better and can do crafts again. Much love to you. OXOX
Wow! What a great idea! Could turn these also into embellishments for mini albums, cards, flower centres! The possibilities are endless! Thanks for the inspiration! Tfs hugs Renee
Yes! They would work great for embellishments. You can use this idea for so many things. Thank you very much for your lovely comment and for sharing your ideas. OXOX
thanks for sharing, always have fun watching ur vids. just another idea.... I had formed the shapes like you did for your flowers and leaves. Then I used the tacky glue on the wire - but instead of stretching the glue across I used pieces of fabric or netting or shiny tissue paper and let it dry completely. Then I came back and trimmed the edges of the fabric to be even with the edges of the wire. I used the sparkly paint on the flowers too. But I never thought about just using the glue! Super idea and I will definitely keep this in mind. THANK U!
Hi laurie. I love the idea of using fabric. That sounds really pretty. I think the fabric would be great for larger projects. Thanks for the tip. I will have to try that sometime. :) I never saw this done with glue either. The idea came to me and I was like... wow... I'll bet that could be neat. hehe Then I couldn't stop coming up with ideas. I think they will make great gifts too. :) I can't wait to wear my hair clips. I like to wear hair clips in the summer. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for watching. Hugs.
Thanks Kym. :) I love using the nail polish because of all the sparkles. hehe I love the fancy look of sparkles. Oh my goodness, we did have a lot of fun in the snow. I wish you were here to enjoy it with us. :) I know how much you enjoy the snow too. Snow with hills works great for sledding. haha Gotta love it.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. I'm new to making jewelry making. I have been looking online at other peoples tutorials for other items. I found yours and would like to thank you for sharing your technique!!! But more importantly, your explanation is easy and to the point, and your voice is very pleasant to listen to. Unfortunately I have found a lot of other tutorials waste time talking about nonsense and they have very whiny voices. I am so thrilled that I have found this, I am going to attempt to make a broach and add crystals. Again thank you so much!!!! Tina from Australia:-)
Wood glue works great! Pour a little in a small container (like a fat medicine/pill bottle) and dip the flower in. Dip a second time after about half an hour and let dry a couple of hours. Coat with nail polish. Wrap wires with floral tape and floral picks to make stunning arrangements.
These look amazing!!! I'm making some for my mums birthday and putting them in a flower vase🙂 thanks for the idea💕 I'll tell you how much my mum likes it.
Elmers wood glue worked wonders for me! I tried it myself after realizing mod podge does not work. The wood glue is wonderful, and is actually cheaper than the other suggest one. It takes a LONG time to dry. If your flower is level while it dries, and glue dries evenly without dripping. Also it is a very thick glue. No dryer necessary.
thanks for your details on how to make these nail polish flower crafts. I will use your method . and will try it all out since I am just trying this . great job .
WOW......I cannot believe ....this.....Beautiful pieces...and well explained...!!Keep up the GREAT work......... ; ) Love the extra footage of family .... having fun....!!! Wonderful...
So my wife does her nails using the water marbling technique. She uses a twist on that to make large petals. She uses a plastic cup that her wire shape will fit into. She then fills the cup with purified water. Then she places a drop of nail polish in the middle of the water. That is followed by maybe 5 more drops, one at a time. She lightly blows on the polish until it dries. You will see the film slightly wrinkle when it is ready. Place the wire form into the polish just enough to very slightly push the film down. With the polish pushed down, use a toothpick to remove the polish outside of your wire form from the water. Gently pull the wire form out of the water. Let dry, and coat with Elmers for added strength. This makes it possible to do much larger shapes.
I forgot to mention that you can dip the wire form more than once. Just let it dry between dips. My DW tried to just paint the petals at first, but the new polish dissolved the old. This method gives her very thin streak free results.
These are so cool and very beautiful, I remember when I was a teenager I had a set that I could make flowers out of by dipping them into a liquid that would form a clear plastic. This technique really reminds me of that kit I used to have. I don't remember the name of it but I really loved your process here. Quite lovely!
+Susie LaLonde Thank you SO much Susie. :) The kit you had when you were younger sounds really neat and pretty easy. I wonder they used in the kit. Pretty cool.
I don't know what it was, but it was really liquidy and all you had to do is dip the wire into it and then sit it up in a styrofoam thing so it could dry. www.clayalley.com/dihow.htm here is a website that sells some similar stuff I found it when searching google. The liquid came in different colors also. You are welcome
PVA glue worked just fine for me,honestly,I was pleasantly surprised and I simply poured a little glue puddle on a flat surface and dragged the wire leaves across it.Surprisingly it worked really well and quick as well. Then just stuck them into foam to sit until they dried on their own and painted, came out much better than expected.
Thank you SO much KuroHinatule! That is great advice. :) I never used PVA glue. I will have to give it a try. It sounds like you had a great time making your projects. Yay!! Thank you for sharing your experience. Awesomeness!
You're most welcome.I've just noticed before that PVA glue forms a nice foam after it dries and is transparent after it dries so I simply used it.It was indeed fun trying out something new.
Thanks for the tutorial! I now have made several of these since watching your video-they're addictive! I didn't have any glue, so I've been doing it without it...so far, so good!
Chandra Williams That is awesome Chandra!! It worked for you without glue. Yay! I could not get it to work without glue. I am so happy it worked for you. :)
I am not sure how to add a photo in comments but I made some using just the nail polish to make the skin and was able to create some cool effects by adding a drop of another color and swirling. Once dried I brushed on an additional coat on the back of the petals and will finish with a sparkle top coat. I like your wrapping technique. Please share more.
Your video is amazing & very helpful for when I attempt to make a flower tiara for my daughter for her 10th birthday. I love the tacky glue idea & so far you're the only video I've seen use glue & nail polish.
Hi Chris. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. :) I am so happy that you found the video useful. Your daughter will have a beautiful birthday tiara. I never saw anything like this before either. I came across something that looked kind of like it but was not sure how they did it so I made this up. I was so happy that it worked and I just had to share it with everyone. :)
Love love love your videos and can't wait to try them with my granddaughters. Of all these many many years I have been using the Bobby Pin the wrong way...Like many I have them placed like yours in your video...but the wavy part goes towards the hair not on the outside. Even my mother and grandmother was using them the wrong way too lol. Happy Crafting, Debs from Texas.
Beautiful!! So creative, and the end result is gorgeous!! Great video... you make the steps easy to understand and follow, one of the best I've seen. Thanks for your great creative ideas...I love it!
very cool, love your talents on this project. I have never seen this before. Thank you for sharing your tutorials look forward to seeing more of your projects.
Cheryl Mccuistion THANK YOU Cheryl. I am so happy that you enjoyed the tutorial. This is such a fun project and I know you will enjoy creating beautiful things with it. :)
This is an awesome idea! I have been looking for ideas for a charm bracelet for my little sister's birthday, and this looks like just the thing. Thank you!
holly greydanus Thank you very much holly. I am so glad you are going to make up some of your own designs. That is awesome. I know you will enjoy making them. :)
I absolutely love this! So creative! You know, I pick up tarnished metal and various odds and ends of otherwise useless or really ugly jewelry at GoodWill or yard sales or what have you and paint them with nail polish to make jewelry sets that match exactly to my outfits. I've even colored sunglasses this way! I love playing around with the stuff, but your idea really takes the cake! Please keep posting! ;-)
been looking for your tutorial all last evening, ended up just wrapping a bit of wire into a rough petal shape and tried the only glue that i had similar to yours. This evening it has dried, still feels a bit tacky to the touch but the glue has stayed in place just a few but a few bubbles have appeared. Nail varnish might cover it. i used Bostik All Purpose Glue, extra strong.
Thank you so very much sandrartes. :) I love your videos too. My son and I enjoy working with polymer clay. You are so talented and you are such a great teacher. I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you for visiting my channel.
Yay!! Thank you!! I knew you would like it Ashley. I kept thinking about all the colors of nail polish that you have when I was making these. haha I only had light nail polish and I knew that I was going to have to branch out and get more colors to do this project. Yep we sure did get a lot of snow. LOL It was so much fun to play in it. Now I am ready for spring so I can plant flowers. hehe
Thank you Megan!! That is totally awesome!! Yay!! I am so happy that the tutorial helped you with your demonstration. Doing the happy dance. hehe :) I love it!!
hot glue will work as well and is quick. I make flowers out of soda bottles. I cut the shapes I want out of the top and the bottom of the bottle and make leaves out of the middle. I paint them with nail polish and use a heat gun on them (the hair dryer is usually not hot enough)the heat gun makes them shape into themselves and each one is unique. Since I use so much nail polish, i make the bottles and the brushes into fairy trees using the wire and hot glue to form the tree.
Marcella Gonzalez Thank you Marcella. :) I am so glad you are going to give it a try. I think you will have fun doing it. I am going to make the bracelet for a video tutorial this week. I love how we can make our jewelry colorful with the nail polish. hehe
Hi, just started doing some flowers. But I haven't used the tacky glue. How does the glue hold up? Does the glue peel off over time? Love the last session playing in the snow with the kids, nice touch.:)
+Maria Le-Bron I am amazed at how strong the glue holds up. I still wear all of the things that are shown in the video and have not had ANY issues with the glue. It is sturdier than you might think. :) Thanks so much for watching. I am so happy you enjoyed the video and want to give this project a try. OXOX
I have been making these types of flowers in miniature for at least 10 years. I use both nail polish and acrylic paint mixed with the glue ...I use gold wire, sobo glue because it dries clear.
I just tried and found this craft and I used Elmer's classic glitter glue in blue and it looks very pretty butfor the middle I used puffy paint natural glow so I think you should try puffy paint and the Elmer's classic glitter glue I Hope it works!!!!!! thank you for the tutorial!~~~
THANK YOU! I'm so excited to make something I've been wanting forever, but couldn't find in stores. How durable are they? any suggestions to make it more durable?
+J Win I am SO happy that you like this craft J Win. :) Actually, these are very durable. I even wear my jewelry pieces in the shower. All of my pieces have held up awesomely. Thank you very much for watching. :) oxox
Funny video , lovely work , i'll have to try someday but because of my multiple allergies i'll have to ask the doc first :) TFS and good luck :) From Romania with love xx
Feeoryne I use a regular size pen or pencil for my flowers usually but you can use a sharpie. It sometimes takes a little longer to get the glue to do what you want it to do when working with a larger sized flower but it is possible. :) They are such fun. Thanks so much for watching. :)
How did you attaché the flowers to your hair clips and bob pins. I would love to make some for my granddaughter but afraid the wire would stick her head. Love the idea, great tutorial.
Donna Ball Hi Donna. Thanks for the awesome question. I wrapped the wire around the plastic on the hair clip and then wrapped it close to the bottom of the flower or butterfly so that the wire would not poke out. I wrapped and tucked. I also used a bit of glue (I used super glue) to hold them in place where I wanted them to stay so that they did not move around. Each piece I made has held up really well. Your granddaughter will love it. :)
Thank you for showing this technique. My daughter and I were looking for a craft to do and tried making them but the wire was wrong and the directions never said anything about the glue.Cant wait to try making flowers and I love your dragon flies. Do you think the flowers are strong enough to make key chains? Thanks, Janet (pj 's account)
Pj Peters That is so exciting to hear . YAY!! I am very happy that this tutorial will inspire you to create new things. I do think that it is strong enough for a key chain as long as you use thicker wire. I have not had ANY issues with my projects coming apart. They seem very sturdy. Thank you so much for watching. :)
U n I must think ALOT a like as I had thought of this (to make the wings on a fairy jar for my niece) but never got arnd to trying it out. Trying it now bc uv done it beautifully!!!! I especially love the dragonfly. Trying it w the clear tacky glue (that's what I have on hand) n seems to b working but taking alot longer to dry....May have used too much???? Love these, very creative. Keep up the good work! ;)
I tried all kinds of glue too. I even tried wood glue it was a no go... I used JOT WHITE GLUE you can get at the dollar store. Than a get a seal tight container with a top get at dollar store too. Pour all the Jot glue into the container and dip the wired flowers spin with fingers bring up outta the glue and stick into a floral foam ring to dry. It dries clear...Than paint with nail polish put back on foam to dry. When done put top back on container filled with glue for the next time ....
DeeMa Balalta Hi DeeMa. I am so happy that this tutorial will help you make your flower crown. YAY! I used 26 gauge wire for my flowers. I hope you have fun making your crown. Thank you for watching. :)

Your cannel is really cool I want to learn from you!
Shelly Norris GREAT tip. Thank you! I will have to give that a try. Awesomeness!
J Dilfer I love puffy paint. hehe Thank you so much for sharing with us what worked for you. Very cool. :)
So excited about this!
Carolee K Thank you!! :)

Hi, I was wondering what size pencil are you using for wrapping your wire?
I am using a sharpie and I find it very challenging to apply glue to it!!!
Feeoryne I use a regular size pen or pencil for my flowers usually but you can use a sharpie. It sometimes takes a little longer to get the glue to do what you want it to do when working with a larger sized flower but it is possible. :) They are such fun. Thanks so much for watching. :)
I love your craft will try it
How did you attaché the flowers to your hair clips and bob pins.
Keep up the good work! ;)
FYI.... clear tacky glue is NOT working properly. Guess I'm off to the store... :/
HI..thank u so much.. sounds interesting i m now eager to make one of these.Thank u
sudha rao Yay! I am so glad you are going to make some projects. Thank you. :)
