I made orange lilies from this stuff in the late 60's, early 70's. I didn't know they still made it. Been wondering about that now that I'm into the different types of clay (reason I found this channel) and making miniature food. I liked the way they turned out so always remembered them. Never scrunched it up so didn't know that it dried like plastic wrap or how durable it was. Interesting video and it answered a lot of my long thought about questions.
I just watched...waited, and never got a chance to try it. Im very good with my hands, so i would of loved it. Even at a young age. Finally googled it, after finding the name of it on Pinterest. I found others who love this too.👍🏻
oh man I used to love this stuff back in the early seventies. I didn't even know they still made it. To read the description and see it being called a "Vintage craft", okay, now I feel old. LoL
I loved making these when I was a kid! Thanks for the throwback. I think it's time to rediscover it. My daughters already love other crafts and styles from the '70s.
Wow the liquid plastic is fascinating, it dries like plastic wrap! I wonder if it can be used in combination with polymer clay to make 'window cookies' or transparent bits of jewellery.
I do have a bottle of transparent liquid, i wonder if it will work as a glaze too. It kind of works as a glass paint, maybe if you put it in a small tube and squeeze the liquid to the window cookie.
pufftique Maqaroon CoolRiceBunnies PaperPastels PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS IT'S KINDA BORING AND I AM A BIG FAN OF ALLS OF YOU SORRY BUT IM KINDA THING UNSUB TO YOU GUYS IM REALY SORRY PLEASE DONT RE PORT I DO LOVE YOUR CHANNELS BUT .....

Thank you for this tutorial; many years ago I had a 70s handicrafts magazine (now long since lost) with this technique described and I've been looking for something about this for ages! Someone told me the dipping liquid is called Dip-it film and it can be clear (glass) or porcelain (opaque).
Hi, just found your clay recipe on Pinterest and checked it out, I am now watching the videos on your TH-cam channel. How lucky are we to have such a talented lady sharing her knowledge and time to show us how to make such amazing and beautiful creations. Thank you so much, kind regards Liz
Vaya....!!!! que idea mas extraordinaria....!!!!! te felicito, que gran creatividad, que técnica tan interesante y el resultado bello....!!!! parece vitral.... hermoso... gracias por compartirlo.... saludos
I'm still mind blown by this it is so cool. I hope you can make more crafts like this or just in general. You haven't really updated with any new videos and I really enjoy watching you 😊
In the UK, there is a TV crafter who made DIY furniture, sewing and other cute vintage crafts super popular (I love her!) called Kirsty Allsop and she did a small series on British Craft Shows in the countryside which are a tradition and very popular. In one of the episodes, she showed us a craft from the Women's Institute (crafting nationwide group) which was exactly like this but with gelatine! I tried it and it worked really well and it was super fun but difficult to get the texture right, and I didn't know about that nifty wire technique you used! Love to see you back on your channel- keep up the wonderful videos!
Wow, I had no idea about the material. I have seen it before, and it seemed like it would make beautiful wings but I didn't know the name or how to use it. Thank you for the video, I'm looking forward to the nail polish version.
Love the video and just got my clear liquid resin so going to give this a try...wish me luck...also they have "Dip It Fantasy Film" to use if you can not find the resin.
Wednesday Rowan resin is most like plastic, hardest, most resistant especially if used harden .Polish is just waist of time and wire, crap, brakes easy and fast.wood glue is other shit..there is good materials to do this with, with no need to use polish and glue.I like Dip-it Fantasy film, very good amount of product for what t8ny nail polish can be bought,so even comes out cheaper than doing with polish.i think people use polish cos don’t know that resins can be used, just don’t know better products or have nail polish near and want to try it out

May I ask where the Liquid resin is sold? In Germany we called it Tauchlack but it isn't Sold anymore. and the Fantasy Film from the Uk doesn't ship out of Uk . :(
I remember my sister doing this in the late 60s. I would like to start doing this but have no idea what to buy. I saw a video that said after dipping, you need to use a uv light to cure it. I have a black light flashlight, would that work? Also I see you are dipping them into colored I guess resin, is that better than using clear then painting it? When I looked, there are so many different "resins" to buy that I don't know what is best for a starter. We used to call it liquid glass so I have no clue what I am doing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
This is new to me, I feel like the only person who has never seen this before. What are you dipping it in?? How do I make that? I get the wire shaping part but I have no idea what’s going on with the dip. 😢
Like Andy M, I used to love making these flowers back in the late 60's-early 70's. I'd forgotten all about them until I saw one at a little independent hamburger place where we like to eat. These were fun to make, and pretty to look at.
I did this as a teen...loved it. Now it's back and bigger than ever...and you can't get it in the US! Only place I found it was in the UK! If anyone knows where you can get it in the US, please share!
Can someone please comment on the brand name of this. I’ve been looking for it for years and would love to get some…..just can’t remember what it is called. Many many thanks
Oh and can I use ICE resin instead of liquid plastic? I believe this is the dip it version of resin right? Can I just use any resin or does it have to be the dip it kind?
Hola, esa resina tiene algún otro nombre ? Porque acá en Uruguay la estoy buscando hace más de 1 año y nadie la conoce. Puedes ayudarme ? Desde ya, muchas gracias.
it looks so pretty!!! i'd like to try it out but now i don't know if i buy that liquid plastic dip, how does it actually smell? i'm pretty sensitive to nail polish smell. does it smell like that? i'd really appreciate your answer, would help me out a lot!
I think this product was called dippin daisies...something like that..have had it on my mind since I started working with epoxy...seems like you'd be able to do this with it.
You should of uploaded this video on Mothers day! I would of made this for my mom because its sooo pretty! I ♥ how the dipped parts are translucent! :-)
I have been looking for this stuff for DECADES! I loved it so much when I was a kid.
São lindas maravilhosas

I used to make these when I was a kid! I'd love to buy or make the dip, please post soon!!!
Wow the liquid plastic is fascinating, it dries like plastic wrap! I wonder if it can be used in combination with polymer clay to make 'window cookies' or transparent bits of jewellery.
Ooh, that's a wonderful idea! It might take a while to dry though because it is thicker

Elizabeth Turnbull thank you for your kind words Liz :)! I am grateful you liked my videos.
The liquid we used in the 60's and 70's was called Fantasy Film & you could get plastic molds for shaping the wire into different petals and leaves.
I used something called Dip It
I remember watching my mom and sister make these back then. Cool
Same here! So cool!
That’s the best tutorial I’ve seen on making these flowers love the way you made and shaped the petals and leaves. Thank you for your inspiration!
