I bought the 2023 GV70 2.5T Advance package .. 300hp plenty for my needs , I preferred the 19 inch rims with deeper rubber for the ride quality. It has less cross hatch plastic visible and even has illuminated sill plates !. No massage seats, head up display, partial digital dash and third A/C controls in rear, the rest is identical to the one you drove.. but was $54k… That was really value for this quality vehicle .. I chose Cardiff green with vanilla interior .. (no kids and one small light brown haired dog 🐕 in the rear 😊). no recalls or problems after 18 months ..
Joe, I absolutely love the Genesis GV70 3.5t and I think to me I am a fake vent fanatic because without them the fender & the bumpers would look rather bland.
I just picked up my 2025 GV70 yesterday. I had a 2017 macan GTS, which I loved. I traded that in for a g70, which was an absolute blast to drive. You certainly cannot knock the drivability of the Macan. It's an amazing car but Genesis adds features that Porsche evidently doesn't care about. No remote start, which is kind of a big deal for me. This car is a total looker. And I agree with you it is a blast to drive. It's very similar in driving characteristics to the Macan and the brakes are good, but nobody competes with Porsche brakes. This is an awesome review.
agree 100% on the screens...like this version over the GV80's big screen. The bad news is that the GV70 gets the big screen next year too so if you like this version you have to buy this year.
I know cargo nets suck but it beats cleaning Skittles out of the bottom of a pocket filled with mysterious sticky things set against rainbow colored lint. Just saying.
I saw a new Genesis rolling next to me on I-84 a couple of days ago. I was seriously impressed with how these looked in person. Video does not do it justice. The rims on this one are beautiful. Not sure about the reliability, but this certainly looks quality. Nicest looking Asian brand vehicle on the road today in my opinion.
What did you pay for it? Any discounts offered by Genesis or the dealer? I've noticed (on Autotrader) that these cars depreciate to $65K Cdn. once they have 8,000 - 10,000 kms on them. Was thinking I should buy a demo or lightly used one.
Joe's absolutely right about the distinct personalities between drive modes. Sometimes I completely forget about sport and sport +, but when I remember it's a whole lot of fun.
I think one of the reasons the hood has an overbite is that it has to do with aerodynamics, which also prevents the hood from shaking at speed. Other sources say it's an intentional design detail to make the GV70 look more sporty. Regardless, it doesn't bother me all that much when you consider everything else about the design of the GV70 is gorgeous.
We just purchased the GV70 Sport and LOVE it. It is fast and almost as fast as my corvette. The ride and handling are great. If you like luxury and sport this car is for you.
Just bought GV70 2.5 Sport Prestige with employee discount (my wife works at Hyundai Motor America HQ) at the standalone Genesis dealer that was used to be the infiniti dealer before. Best SUV!!!
As a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus owner with the 2.7 Twin Turbo with 335 HP, ( which is pretty peppy) the Genesis GV70 will be my next car with their 3.5 Twin Turbo 375 HP. Lincoln should have kpe tjhe 2.7 or the 3.) with 405 HP but unfortunately marketing people at Lincoln kept designing vehicles for my Grandpa!!
This is a 2024 model. 2025 will have a different interior (new instrument panel) and I read the 3.5 twin-turbo V6 is being replaced with a 3.3 twin turbo V6.
Hey Joe! Great review dude! The "fake vent" texture is actually for continuity in design language. You notice how the rear fender has the same design theme? I'm no car designer but I'm guessing this is probably a new thing in car design trend.
Fantastic review! I’m still in tears over the “pelvic massage”…very informative and hilarious. Good call out on the NES classics. Keep up the great work!
ستخدام الكاميرا Hello, I am from Saudi Arabia and I constantly follow your programs on TH-cam, and I am a huge fan of everything you offer, whether in car content or your simple and beautiful explanation, so thank you and move forward always.
I would’ve preferred to see USB C ports but everything else is pretty sweet. Also how often are you triggering the collision warning in your test drives?
The color is beautiful but for the price there are certain things that seem to be missing. I'm really liking the gv80 and I want to check out the coupe version.
Joe, great review! I own a 2019 Macan S and I was looking at the Genesis as possibly my next car. How expensive is the maintenance? Oil change, breaks, etc… Also, how did it take the corners? Looked amazing on the straight aways!
The Macan is superior and better quality ultimately if you know anything about cars. No idea why you’d do that. The Macan and X3 lead this segment. If you have the base Macan either keep it or sell it to get an S / GTS
Are the front seats highly bolstered? We have a Volvo xc60 and the side bolsters are a real problem, and we're small people ;) We're looking for a similar vehicle with 'flat' seats since my husband has hip tendonitis and bursitis and driving causes huge flare-ups.
Smoosh the alpha rear bumper with the Porsche rear glass, the Audi character line with the BMW headlights, the land rover c pillars : presto, the premium sport Ute that Homer built
This thing is a beauty! It looks and feels special. The interior is sublime. The only thing I don’t get is the counter clockwise tachometer. This model year and earlier are the ones I would get, as Genesis will undoubtedly ruin the dashboard with a big screen combining the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen.
Looking for this comment cause yeah the 2025 is a refresh year for the GV70. Saying that I don't like all the changes with the upcoming 2025. I was interested in the GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige but at $67K it's a hard sell as these Genesis cars as of recently had gotten more expensive then it needs to. Just a shame but it's a better value used instead as they lose a lot of value within 2 years.
@@volcalstone I work for Genesis - the 2025 is identical to the 2024 - next year in the spring we'll have the 2026 GV70, which will have the refreshed screen.
@@JGisMe2013 correct, there’s been a few minor changes to trims, but overall no major changes. Large refreshes are typical after around 3 years (average lease end). For example, the new gen BMW X5 came out in 2019 and was just updated last year in 2023 with no changes in between. Wireless CarPlay will be occurring with an OTA update sometime in the next few months, at least that’s what we’ve been told.
Shopped all the Germans and bought one of the first 2022 GV70 3.5 Sport Presitges back in November 2022, would buy iut again tomorrow. Love the stay at home concerige service !! I hate the panoramic screens on ANY vehicle, the GV70 interior is perfect.
@@ph00ny1 Almost all companies are using panoramic screens in the new models, I hate it, too busy, and puts both the instrument cluster and infotainment screens at the wrong optimal height.
Not in North America. Just got the GV70 2.5T PRESTIGE 2025 and it's not the refreshed model. It came out in Korea first and will come next year in other markets
Just an FYI, this is a 2024 GV70. The 2025 isn't available in US yet and will feature a totally redesigned interior. Not trying to be a troll, just mentioning so title can be revised. Love your vids though. Twinkie storage space is the most important thing to me when buying a new vehicle and only your vids touch upon it! 😄
Love their big round exhausts in the back they are sending a message we mean business. Hope the Mazda guys get the hint on their new CX90 with no exhaust tips!!
Lack of usb C is a major zonk. Hard plastic back covers for seats get a major zonk.as.well. Not feeling the whole vehicle honestly. But i like the leather aggressiveness.
The average middle-class person in the USA the car payments $1000 that’s astronomical if you stop and think about it or hyper inflation I just priced out a G 70 the sedan and the payment was 1K a month with 2500 down I might as well go with the GV 70 and pay an extra $50-$100 on the monthly payment
I think this is still the 2024. The 2025 is the refresh with the newer updates. It'll have the bigger all in one screen, different ambient lighting, and many more.

I'd like to see a night drive so we can really see the ambient lighting and the lighting in general.
The rear end is the weakest part of the SUV. Having a rotating gear selector might be a problem for some, but overall this is a very upscale interior.
