And I agree, this game needs some sort of expedition mechanic to send Goblins to auto farm. It would speed up some boring farming needs it has

The backgrounds are really nice with all kinds of details. Rock carvings, random animals, ruins and amazing sights!

Ya, I think Acolytes are (and are supposed to be) effectively a higher tier and better shaman. It's rare for beginning classes to be worth taking over classes that are unlocked later into any game if they have a reasonable amount of overlap in roles. That said, BalMangler is a hell of a name and has developed trust and respect from his contributions so it's hard to not want to bring him....this really demonstrates just how good of a job they did making this game! Any time there's a desire to do something that's likely non-optimal it's often a sign of good development.

I never expected two acolytes. I thought of one tank with two shamans (for CC) or even another DPS (killing faster = taking less hits) but this is interesting!
I really like how the lore is opening up along with the mechanics

@retromation regarding intercept. I was able to confirm on the discord that intercept will only work for single target abilities so things like "venom spit" that hit multiple gobbos aren't supposed to be intercepted. However; the web later in the fight SHOULD have been intercepted and is a bug. I posted a bug report for that and have suggested a tooltip change to specify single target with intercept ability.
Nooo! How will Fleafibber ever manage alone in the wild? You cruel goblinmaster, sending such a cutie out into the harsh world by themselves. It doesn't matter they have the worst stats imaginable, they are unique and every goblin deserve love and care.
I want to play this game when it's released, but I'm afraid the game will leave me in a permanent state of heartbreak, because I won't be allowed to keep all the cute goblins.

I've just binge watched most ofyour series, unusual given I prefer to play games rather than watch others play.
Being a fan of XCOM and seeing this game with more RPG mechanics although the combat seems a little simplified, it still looks like great fun.
Love the breeding idea so you dont have to get too attached to your goblins and omg the names hahaha. Release fate tomorrow!!!

The goblin names will never not be funny, but at some point they will seem completely normal. Mark my words.
Sadly, I see very little point fielding a Shaman once you get access to the Acolyte. The Acolyte heals better, does similar, if not better damage (though not magic damage) and you rarely seem to use the Shaman's unique buff/debuff abilities, it would be better to replace them with a Hunter or Raider for more damage. I also suspect the best use for [Healing Prayer] is to cast it in the first round when you start any elite or boss fights.

I understand not using the traps, they totally have not been 50% but I wonder if a trap hit can trigger other traps. it would be neat to litter the battlefield with them and have a chain reaction. I might try that when I play.

Really been enjoying this. Can’t wait to play it.
Some gathering stations for the lazy goblins at home would be a good addition to the game. Can't have them doing nothing while the squad is away doing battle.
It would also be nice if an element of base defense was added later down the line. Something along the lines of humans/halflings discovering the lair of the goblins causing trouble in the surroundings and sending occasional raids.

Honestly, I'd argue the Stun Trap is objectively worse than the Dung Trap in most scenarios. Both traps are 50% chances, but Dung trap is also AoE, which there isn't a whole lot of in this game so far. Stun Traps are basically a 50% chance for an extra big hit on a single target and a chance to stun. While that has its merits, namely against bosses, I still feel the AoE might be better for normal expeditions. Also, I'm glad to see there are finally new traits, it feels like it might take too long to get to the point where you start getting this much variety, especially if you're the kind of person who does farming expedition runs often.

I agree it'd be nice to feed more new content earlier rather than waiting for mile-stones. Though maybe it's based on playstyle. Some people may be reckless with their runs and progress the story regardless of how many deaths come of it.
for me, keep this series for a long time.

At this point I would drop the Shaman to have 2 acolytes and 2 guards. I don’t really see why the Magic dmg of shamans is currently more useful than the higher physical dmg of the acolytes.
Yeah, and the shaman's damage isnt particularly amazing either.

I think only melee attacks can be intercepted.
Slowly catching up on thus series but wanted to ask when you dismissed the goblins with weak stats do you get souls for doing so or not. It.might need a extra step to sacrifice them unless they have no soul count
you only get souls if they have successfully done a mission with them, if they have, then you do.
whats the meaning of the breeding preview when its random anyway kind of confusing
It's not fully random. The breeding uses (or at least used to use, it's possible it was changed) dominant and recessive gene combinations. So the preview shows some of the more likely outcomes for stats AND appearance. However, just like IRL sometimes you can get unlikely results like 2 brown haired parents having a blond child because of grandparent recessive genes etc. The preview is helpful because you can put in several different combination of parents and the number of acceptable gobbos in preview does represent how likely an acceptable gobbo will spawn.

Instead of replacing a tank with acolyte you should dump raider. they have fallen off so hard.
